Yes, unlike last week there were a few cool things (Phew) especially the guy who played Toyman/Winslow Schot. PS3 please bring this guy back because he did an awesome job and saved this episode from being a complete stinker and he deserved a better episode than this.

The Big Dumb Alien and his superpowered Big Dumb Girlfriend no being able to figure out a better way to disable a bomb than "Suck out the Kryptonite"

Lana could have ripped the damn thing off the roof and thrown it into orbit! or buried it! or Clark could have used his heat vision to melt every funcional component of the damn thing into slag.

But noo, they had to go the way they did, because a Kryptonian's powers come not from the earth's yellow sun, but from their own angst.

Well, Lana chucking it in the air, def.

But I'm not sure he could have used his heat vision, I'm sure Lex would have had automatic detinators for that. Even Clark wouldn't be that stupid, I think :\

They should make that the tagline for the show.

I think we're forgetting how fast Clark is - he's literally faster than a speeding bullet, and his heat vision would move, literally, at the speed of light. There's no way on earth Lex wuld be able to react fast enough - especially if all Clark did was separate the explosive components from the detonator, letting Lana throw the explosives into the air (just last episode, she went from laying down to intercepting a bullet several feet away in the time it took for that bullet to travel less than a meter). With the Kryptonite gone Clark's free to trash the remaining components (and any residual/secondary explosive material) in his usual "Clark Smash" manner.

But no, they can't do that because around Lana, Clark must follow the laws of Angsty Physics and travel down the path of most resistance.

But it would be exploding Kryptonite and Clark would have to sacrifice his life, which would be cool but why do that when you have SuperLana :\

It did keep my attention until the end (Which Power did not, and I even wanted to switch it off after watching around 20 minutes of it, by the end I was a blithering idiot, banging my head on a table).

And this did have Toyman, who was well cast... ok this was hardly a Memoria, or Rosetta, or even Justice and yes the Blana was just boring and really redundant, we'll never see her again (Until Season 9:\) so that means at least something. But I watched it from beginning to end and was entertained enough to be satisfied, although disappointed.

Everything but Oliver was annoying in this episode. Thank God it's over!

I have to add that Chloe not even mentioning Jimmy again, and her being in the wrong hospital visiting Oliver while she should be in Star City. Also, no mention of Lois Lane, especially since her character is scheduled to come back in 3 weeks.

I also disliked the fact that there was no trailer for Infamous or upcoming episodes.

Yeah, Chloe...WTH?? Your husband is in the hospital in Star City and you go by to see Ollie????? (*I know he's shirtless and all:D, but come on!)

Most annoying was the Clana resolution. Should have been MUTUAL, and MATURE for both of them, instead, Clark looks like a pathetic weakling!
He's gonna be on that road to redemption for a LONG time now--at least for me!!!

Oliver was AWESOME!! At least you know where he stands--right or wrong---he's a man of conviction!! Plus, he's the only man that kept his manberries in tact even being in the presence of Lana Lang...which is more than I can say for Clark!!!

The broken bed was sickening. AND makign Lana the kidnapper and torturer out to be a hero, and never making ehr pay for her trangressions over the years was disgusting. Heroes are supposed to stand up for morality and right and this Clark jsut wants to have sex with this nasty girl regardless of what she's done. He's no hero and the ep sucked. The writers of this crap shoudl be fired.

It is funny, this is exactly what I feel about "power". Requiem was not great but not as bad as last week. Just a continuity lol. But what I like is the word "requiem". We wondered a lot what it would mean, now we know, as some as supposed (me included)it is the Clana End:D

I'm sorry, but Ollie is not a killer and this episode ticks me off with the writers. Everything else was annoying, but Ollie is supposed to be a leader... he wouldn't ask Chloe to go behind Clark's back like that... not after Bulletproof where he admits that him and Clark working alone might not be the best thing... In the comics, Green Arrow/Oliver Queen was the voice amongst all the others that served as a reminder that their actions might not be in the best interests of humanity... last nights ep did not show any of that quality

I have to admit that I was a little misty eyed during the loft scene…but then I realized Lana was gone for good. I’m annoyed with PS3 for ending Clana in this manner because there was no true closure (and it was cruel). The way that it ended will make it seem as if Clark <ST1:p</ST1:pis choosing Lois by default not because she’s his true love. I’m a Chlark/Clois fan so I feel like this episode was a total rip off . What a way to desecrate Clois and over 70 years of storytelling! It was lame and I’m kinda angry:mad:.<O:p</O:p

After eight seasons of plotting and scheming -- first with unraveling the mystery of Clark's secret, then with winning over Lana and losing her -- Lex's diabolical plan of all plans to finally destroy Clark and Lana's relationship is ..... to make Clark allergic to Lana by kryptonizing her?

Although I enjoyed the Toyman, it just seems a bit bush league of Lex to use a disgruntled Queen employee as his patsy to orchestrate his 'choose love or choose heroism' scheme. From Project Leviathan, Lex progresses to Project Ares and he tops that with ... Project "Reactine"?! Giving Clark a "Lana-llergy" is his grand scheme to hurt Clark?

Lex's amateur revenge scheme, plus Clark's retro-petulant attitude (it was like seeing S2-4 Clark) b/c the breakup was annoying. It would have showed better character growth if Clark came to the conclusion that he and Lana were never meant to be, without Lex's customized allergy forcing him to realize it. One step forward, three steps back. And with Ollie on his resource-wasting vendetta mission against Lex, it begs the question: when, by Hades, is CK going to finally earn the mantle of the greatest hero ever without incessant coaching and hand-holding? With Lana gone, Clark has no excuses now.

MM: It's time, Kal-El.

Clark: Time ... for what?

MM: *sigh* (on cell) Bruce? We'll have to postpone the JLA launch party. I don't know, maybe 'til next year or something. Kal-El's not ready yet. Sorry.

Lana saying that she searched everywhere in the DP building and couldn't find the bomb. Apparently the rooftop is not part of the building. At least we got to see some cheap superhearing effects in this one.

The broken bed was preety silly, the writers may seem it's funny, but for once I would like to see them making love and not having rough sex. I found it sort of cute in 'Wrath', but at this point it gets repetitive.

All of the above and Lex's death

L'or
02-07-2009, 05:03 AM
All the above!!!
The most annoying were :

Clark not knowing whether killing is right or wrong!

I mean, seriously? SERIOUSLY!!?

"After what he's done to us, he needs to be stopped!" Bulls*hit.
So every time Lex killed someone, it wasn't reason enough to kill him, but only for intervening in the Clana relationship (if we can call it a relationship) now it's ok?
Seriously, Clark... Wake up, now!

And don't even get me started on the fact that Lana got to play the "conscience"... Yuk! Who's she kidding!?

Chloe still not visiting Jimmy or no explination as to how he is!

Poor Jimmy must miss his wife, that's for sure!
I'm not a fan of their relationship (though I love both characters separately) because I don't think Chloe and Jimmy are right together, but as far as the characters' personalities go, it isn't like Chloe not to care about someone close to her! Her husband to boot!
I mean, was I dreaming or did she really never even mention his name?

Clark still sulking over Lana!

IMO, almost everything that has to do with Lana in relation to Clark annoys me.
Now if he finally dumped her (or someone throttled her), that'd be different...

The broken bed scene!

For goodness' sake, didn't we go over this already?!!
The only good thing about it was that :
It seems the best Clark+Lana will ever do is have sex, while Clark+Lois are meant to make love.

The resolution to Clana! Was that a resolution???

Star-crossed lovers!?
I mean, come on!
How can they even compare Clana to Romeo and Juliet!!!

However, I totally agree that Lana is Kryptonite to Clark!
She's plain toxic to him, that's already been established! No need to make is this literal, though...
I wanted to see Clark finally have closure! I wanted to finally see those two break up and move on because they realize they're not supposed to be together... And they give us this?

Plus:

* Obviously, Lois still being MIA...
I mean, they don't even mention her! It's like the writers didn't even want to acknowledge her existence!

* Lex, dead!?

* Every time Clark and Lana sucked face.
Please, I'm dealing with enough with her returning, I don't need to witness this.

* I'll say it one more time : Where is Lois? I need her, damn it!

* Their kiss at the end was simply disturbing.
And, maybe -surely- that's because I'm a born and raised Cloiser but, their final scene certainly didn't rip my heart or make me wanna cry my eyes out because 'it was so beautifully sad'... Ugh, all I wanted was to slap them!

"We're in each other's hearts, Clark. I will always be with you. No matter what."
GIVE. ME. A. BREAK.
You'll always be with him that's for sure...as a pain in the a*ss, a thorn in his side and a damn nuisance!

Another super annoying thing that has been going on since Lana returned : what's up with that haircut? Seriously!!yeah I couldn't get over the bad hair. like Tom Hanks in the DaVinci code. Also, Clark's emasculation, the sappy Lana lovefest was just way over the top. And the fact that Lana didn't lose her powers was extremely annoying. Plus Lana was a terrible super hero, how could she not find a giant ass emerald bomb on the roof top? The green is visible from outside the building. Clark didn't react to the large amount of kryptonite properly either. Oliver supposedly killing Lex, but the reason is what annoys me, for breaking up Clana! :eek:lol come on seriously.:p:lol:

Well-stated poll. I think that mostly ALL of those elements were ridiculously annoying, and they're why I rated this episode so poorly. Even with that many superpowers, she's still helpless, how pathetic is that?
(Lois can probably take better care of herself on her worst day than Lana can even with superpowers!)
Anyways, Lana was bound to be a bad super hero. (Plus, she's a total sociopath, how can they give her that much power?)

The only good thing about this episode was Toyman everything else was just so wrong on so many levels. The writers made a big mistake by giving Lana that much power to begin with and that ending was no closure for the Clark and Lana relationship but what worse than that was them ruining not one but two good guys who are meant to one day be two great superheroes. How could the writers even consider that it’s possible that Clark would even think of killing Lex for ruining any possibility of him and Lana being together, after everything else that he has done prior to this or having Oliver actually kill a person and think that he made the right choice? Yes we may know that Lex isn’t dead, but Ollie doesn’t. As far as he’s concerned he has killed Lex and that was the right thing to do. What next?

So true, Luke!! Clark is mature everywhere, except Smallville:rolleyes: "If you ever change your mind about me??!?!!?!?" I don't think SO!!!!!

Well, difference being is that the Lana Lang of Superman TAS is a million times better than the so called Lana Lang on Smallville... so when she says "If you ever change your mind about me?" you kind of hope that Clark will give her a second chance!

All the above!!! ><O:p></O:p>
The most annoying were :<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
Clark not knowing whether killing is right or wrong!<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
I mean, seriously? SERIOUSLY!!? <O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
"After what he's done to us, he needs to be stopped!" Bulls*hit. <O:p></O:p>
So every time Lex killed someone, it wasn't reason enough to kill him, but only for intervening in the Clana relationship (if we can call it a relationship) now it's ok? <O:p></O:p>
Seriously, Clark... Wake up, now! <O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
And don't even get me started on the fact that Lana got to play the "conscience"... Yuk! Who's she kidding!?<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
Chloe still not visiting Jimmy or no explination as to how he is!<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
Poor Jimmy must miss his wife, that's for sure!<O:p></O:p>
I'm not a fan of their relationship (though I love both characters separately) because I don't think Chloe and Jimmy are right together, but as far as the characters' personalities go, it isn't like Chloe not to care about someone close to her! Her husband to boot! <O:p></O:p>
I mean, was I dreaming or did she really never even mention his name?<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
Clark still sulking over Lana!<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
IMO, almost everything that has to do with Lana in relation to Clark annoys me.<O:p></O:p>
Now if he finally dumped her (or someone throttled her), that'd be different...<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
The broken bed scene!<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
For goodness' sake, didn't we go over this already?!!<O:p></O:p>
The only good thing about it was that :<O:p></O:p>
It seems the best Clark+Lana will ever do is have sex, while Clark+Lois are meant to make love.<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
The resolution to Clana! Was that a resolution???<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
Star-crossed lovers!? <O:p></O:p>
I mean, come on!<O:p></O:p>
How can they even compare Clana to Romeo and Juliet!!! <O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
However, I totally agree that Lana is Kryptonite to Clark! <O:p></O:p>
She's plain toxic to him, that's already been established! No need to make is this literal, though...<O:p></O:p>
I wanted to see Clark finally have closure! I wanted to finally see those two break up and move on because they realize they're not supposed to be together... And they give us this?<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
Plus: <O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
* Obviously, Lois still being MIA...<O:p></O:p>
I mean, they don't even mention her! It's like the writers didn't even want to acknowledge her existence!<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
* Lex, dead!?<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
* Every time Clark and Lana sucked face.<O:p></O:p>
Please, I'm dealing with enough with her returning, I don't need to witness this.<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
* I'll say it one more time : Where is Lois? I need her, damn it!<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
* Their kiss at the end was simply disturbing.<O:p></O:p>
And, maybe -surely- that's because I'm a born and raised Cloiser but, their final scene certainly didn't rip my heart or make me wanna cry my eyes out because 'it was so beautifully sad'... Ugh, all I wanted was to slap them!<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
"We're in each other's hearts, Clark. I will always be with you. No matter what."<O:p></O:p>
GIVE. ME. A. BREAK.<O:p></O:p>
You'll always be with him that's for sure...as a pain in the a*ss, a thorn in his side and a damn nuisance!<O:p></O:p>
<O:p></O:p>
<O:p> </O:p>
I have to say I love this post it details every thing that's so annoying. YUCK! PUKE!

I didn't get any resolution with Clana. They still love each other. CLANA is still the same old same with a twist. It just depends what twist TPTB will give CLOIS to make it out shine CLANA.

TPTB keep giving me breaking beds, feathers, earthquakes, & sucking face on the DP. Without addressing CK's complete otter blindness behind his obsession with Lana without understanding it's time to address these issueas with CLOIS after all this Sex, Lies, Blindness, & Scheming going on.

It's funny to image what Lois will think when CK has to explain why he's afraid to have sex with her. I would what to be in Lois's shoes. LOL!

All of the above. There was no redeeming aspect in this episode.

Doesn't Oliver have his shirt off in every episode he's in. Even that can't make up for this travesty.

The resolution of Clana. What exactly did they resolve? She became a superheroine & his sidekick(we already seen it with Chloe). Now she's a walking kryptonite, they can't be together again. We are supposed to be sorry & sad for them. What were the writters thinking???!!!That's what they call a proper & mature closure:rolleyes:

Everything but Oliver was annoying in this episode. Thank God it's over!

I have to add that Chloe not even mentioning Jimmy again, and her being in the wrong hospital visiting Oliver while she should be in Star City. Also, no mention of Lois Lane, especially since her character is scheduled to come back in 3 weeks.

I also disliked the fact that there was no trailer for Infamous or upcoming episodes.

Agreed

The bs that spews out of Clark Kent's mouth. " Chloe, no you shouldn't kill Lex because killing is wrong and it doesn't matter if he'll kill me and many others!" (even though I agreed with him for the most part) Clark-" Wait I can't have sex with my now super powered girlfriend because of Lex?! GRRR Clark Kill Lex!!!"

The whole damn episode was pretty annoying, but the thing that annoyed me the most was how they turned Lois in to the girl that Clark will end up with because he physically can't be with Lana. That just makes me sick. I also can't stand how Clark actually turned in to Lana's sidekick. They should have changed the name of the show to Lanaville for F sakes.

The only annoying thing about this episode is the awfully vague death of Lex Luthor. No one saw him in the van so how the hell can we even assume hes dead. A picture of MR?? And speaking of which... if "Lois and CLark: The Adventures of Superman" can portray a full-head-of-haired Lex Luthor can show up, why cant they make MR make an appearance with some hair on his head. Hell he can make clones and build machines to stop Clark... I think he could make something to let him grow some headfur!! lol

My gosh, where to start...

Lana with powers. LAME!
Clana AGAIN!!
Clark being toned down so Lana can shine.
Ollie killing someone.
Lex's evil master plan was a way to separate Clark and Lana. Really??
Chloe not even mentioning her husband.
Doomsday is apparently on a holiday whilst Lana is back.

Gimme time, I'll think of more.

EDIT: Just did.
Clark being all against killing, but when he can't suck face with his wuv, he's all for it.

overall I liked this episode. Toyman and Lex made this episode. Besides the Clark/Lana/Lex/Bomb/Rooftop/Truck scene, I don't like any of the clana scenes. I don't like them turning this show into a romantic soap opera.

Well this show was made to have a teen-soap style. THats the whole point of the WB lineups (Now CW but you get the point) so if you cant stand the show there has to be something else youll enjoy lol I like the mix of both together.

ALLLLL OF THE ABOVE, PLUS....
Lana absorbing a megaton of Kryptonite and NOT turning into the biggest FOTW, ever!!! Add this to the fact she wore that K necklace for YEARS and never developed a meteor power and there is only one conclusion. Lana Lang is only person in the world immune to kryptonite. If that isn't annoying, I don't know what is.

Where is the Toyman option?

They could have done a better job with him as I thought the way that Toyman was portrayed was too cheesy to come across as a bad guy. In matter of fact, he reminds me of the bad guys that Batman and Robin used to battle in the early series.

I agree to that. He seemed more like a cartoon-esque vilain that anything. Props on the ideas for the smoke balloons but other than that... talking to a puppet (even if there was a camera in it) and building model metropolis seemed more like a childish man but I guess a man making toys has to be childish right?

Everything

That might have very well been the worst Episode of the series...and at the least its in the running

Time to use that Legion Ring Clark...Seriously I would almost accept an opening to Infamous where Clark goes to himself "wtf have I just done??...Im a total dumbass...I need to fix this" and uses the Legion Ring to wipe that crap out

and then we can continue on like this cluster***** never happened

That would make the show much worst because the last few episodes would have been completely pointless... and besides... the ring was only set to go to the hall in the year 3009 like they said in the episode. I dont think its clark's personal dalorian!

well she mentions she does go visit him we just dont see it because Jimmy is only paid for half the season. so it could be that or when jimmy returns he says she hasnt been visiting which would raise a flag as to what shes been doing ever since not being corrupted by brainiac

There was quite a bit that annoyed me during the episode itself. That happens with a lot of episodes. What lingers about Requiem, making it almost unique in terms of what was PARTICULARLY annoying about it, was its lingering effects with the characters.

Since Lana absorbed a whole bunch of Kryptonite, and since she has all of Clark's powers otherwise, and since she's gone and likely won't be back...that means that she's essentially left that way unless the writers want to address it (and it seems they'd like for us to forget they ever did that, thankyouverymuch, and maybe if they don't mention Lana there's a chance we will - riiiight).

So what's PARTICULARLY annoying is that when I watch the show now and Clark is imperiled, I wonder why (within the context of the story) he doesn't just call Lana up to have him bail him out. Really undermines that whole "most powerful man in the world" thing. Not to mention, really taking the legs out from under the "main hero" of the story.

And then I figure that with that much Knite, she must be off somewhere glowing in the dark growing nuttier than a fruitcake from the exposure. Possibly terrorizing another town. And maybe THAT'S why Clark can't call her in.

In which case, I wonder why someone's not trying to do something about that, since that would be - you know - a bit of a problem.

So I think the most annoying thing about Requiem - making it in my opinion one of the worst episodes ever - is the lingering effects it has on the series. The worst in making Clark seem pretty much redundant at this point.

Who needs Clark when the world has Lana - a woman with all of his powers but none of his weaknesses?

And I think that's why Requiem will go down as the worst thing that ever happened to the series, years down the road. Possibly not the most annoying episode to watch during the hour I watched it (there are some pretty good runners for that position). But for the series overall...absolutely the worst thing that ever happened to the show.

kizersoze666
12-29-2009, 05:04 AM
That is the ONLY thing that really annoyed me about the whole series. The stiletto episode was a bit stupid IMO, but I managed to laugh at it. But this episode annoyed me because of the apparent death of Lex. Even though I'm a massive fan of Smallville I still hold the original movies very highly, and the whole Superman story in general. So for Lex Luther to die before CK has even developed into the eventual hero he'll become, has spoilt it for me. My only hope for the show to pull back it's credibility is for the death of Lex to be fake, and for him re-appear in the next series with an elaborate story of how he faked it!
