I am a Clois fan, and I know many people loathed this episode throughout, but I thought it was a very solid episode. I have never really been a Clana fan, but I like the closure the relationship received. I don't think it craps on Clois, I think Clark knows he has to move on, and Clana received a very touching and heartfelt ending. I think they both can move on, and I don't really feel Clark regressed here. He still wants to save people, and that is number one. He gave up Clana on the DP roof, gave up his happiness to save others, and that is something Superman would do. Regardless of how people feel about the Clana romance, I don't think its very fair to say Clark acted unlike Superman just because it might seem that he will never get over Lana. He gave her up for everyone. He just needs some time. I think Lois will GET HIM over Lana, and allow him to move on. She isn't the type to let herself be a rebound, and she is exactly what Clark needs at this juncture. He will move on, give it time.

And I gotta say I loved the continuity in this episode. There was tons of that, what with Star Labs, the cemetary, actually seeing Luthorcorp and all.

And Lana actually gets her necklace back. Good continuity with Hereafter right there.

Think on the bright side, maybe if Lana returns in the finale, her and Pete will have hooked up, and Clark and Lois will be together.

All in all, I think Clana got the closure it deserves and now all there is to do is BRING ON THE CLOIS!!!!!!!!!!

he didnt try very hard to find a cure for his first choice now did he:rotfl:
talk about a rushed storyline. Unlike Chloe in legion, Clark knows deep down that Lana is pretty much useless to the world, so why bother.

They obviously have no more strength to fight for one another. Not even a simple idea like a 'lead suit' whilst looking for a cure for her came up.ehehehehehe

Sorry for you Lana, cuz Clark will be moving on pretty soon. I could delete episode 12, 13 and 14 from this season and it wouldnt affect the season's main story arc.:D

Waste of space Lana..bubye:lol:

Well let's see here...Clark asked Lana if Dr. Groll could help her. He then told Lana that he was going to make sure that they could still be together. He then begged Lana to stay and she decided to leave because it was too painful for her. I'm not sure what else Clark could've done in this situation.

Nobody comes out of this story looking good. Smallville Clark shouldn't be with anybody else, he should dedicate himself to finding a cure for Lana (Jor-El anybody) so they can be together.

If he falls for Lois now, it isn't Lois who is second choice/sloppy seconds or whatever you want to call it, it's Clark who looks like a fickle fool. It doesn't say much for his deep love for Lana to throw his hands up and say "next".

That may be the case right NOW, but give it a year and things may well be different.

A lot of people have very strong feelings for their first crush, but we all do move on. Clark will too; give it time.

Once he starts with Lois, and deep feelings develop, he will move on. Just because Lana is number one now doesn't mean she always will be.

MHO,He shouldn't move on to anybody else, he could keep searching for a cure so he could be with her.

Losh Ring - you know the one he has, that can take him back to the past and help fix a few things so the love of his life can stay with him forever and ever...

At this point...you're right, he should. Clark made his choice in "Requiem" to be with Lana and the end of "Requiem" showed how much he wants to be with her. Clana, for me, is the only endpoint that can actually prevent further damage to Clark's character.

I'm sorry, but no..I'd rather have Clark be with Lana, for once and for all, and leave Lois alone, for God's sake

And you'd be the first one calling him out on selfishness.
I agree though that Supes represents hope. Lana or Clana suffering from this is in all eternity is not hope. There's a certain ambiguity though. Maybe the message was to the audience that yes one day Clark can solve this problem and they can be together again. Speaking of the SV universe of course.

Exactly. Moving on damages Clark not Lois. If we see Clark saying to Lois "I love you more than I thought I could love anybody else" or some other type of dreck (and I bet we'll hear this, if not to Lois, he'll say it about Lois to Chloe), Clark shows how shallow he is. It's much more damaging to Clark/Lana than Lois.

The only way what happened at the end of Requiem is meaningful is if Clark dedicates his spare time to finding a cure for Lana. Not chasing after Lois.

No, I think that supes0 was being serious there. Clark should spend his life looking for a cure while progressing as a hero. Jumping over to Lois would certainly make him look like a fickle fool.

Yep. I am absolutely serious. I am first and foremost a Superman fan, not a shipper. Clark should indeed spend his life searching for a cure while continuing to grow as a hero. He shouldn't be looking at Lois in any way other than a co-worker. Anything else cheapens Clark, and that in turn cheapens both clana and clois.

Completely agree. The writers are to blame. But we all know that's what's going to happen. *sigh* All that can be done now is to forget about Lana like the writers will have Clark do and focus on his budding relationship with Lois (Lana who?). Pathetic treatment of Superman and unfair to the traditional Lois/Clark bond to leave this "undying love" lingering out there and completely unresolved for the remainder of the show.

Clois will feel tainted for me after that episode. I needed Clark to break up with Lana for a real reason rather than that he just cant be around her. LAME!

I do agree with what supes0 said. If Clark loves Lana, then he should everything on his grasp to "cure" her. Otherwise, he is a bafoon.

they can be together again.

Expect the part that they will not.

Like he does with Mon-El and the lead poisoning.

ITA. "Lana Who?" is the right expression for it.

Its time IMO for him to move on.

Like he doesn with Mon-El and the lead poisoning.

Exactly. There is precedence for this with Mon-El (Lana was Mon-El and Lori Lemaris merged in to one). And we see Clark angonzing he can't find a cure, and we see him talking to Mon-El through the phantom zone.

Clark might not be able to get close to Lana, but we have modern inventions such as Skype, telephone, email, texting and more. He should stay in touch with her and work together to cure this.

Why can't he ask the league to help? Clark might not be able to get close to Lana but other people can. There are many ways for Clark to research this. Instead he just gives up. Some superman. :p

This is what will happen and I can't understand how this is a good thing for anybody. Clark, Lana or Lois. The right shipper ending in order to maintain Clark's dignity is Clana. This should take place on a different Earth in DC's multiverse and let Clana be the endgame.

Especially after coming off 7 and a half years where it was pretty clear that he was prepared to do anything for Lana. So now TPTB aren't just making Clark look bad, they're making him look totally OOC and essentially making this entire series seem pointless.

Yeah, that's really the only way that can salvage my love for this series at this point.

LAst night, I stayed up for a long time, trying to figure out if I liked it or not. I think I kinda did, because they brought the whole kryptonite necklace to an extreme, and that mean they can't be together anymore. No more Clana. And I decided to trust PS3 on what they are deciding to do with this. No doubt Clark will realize he loves Lois.
