guys, for a moment. Just look at whats happened here.
Start by looking at the end scene of requiem:
Lana is Kryptonite.
Kryptonite kills Superman.
Lana is NO. GOOD. FOR. CLARK. AT. ALL. in any way shape or form and the writers have shown us this with this arc. Its made us angry, its made clark weak, its threatened Superman, its "killed his character" With Lana around clark is but a shell of who he is SUPPOSED TO BE. kind of the same thing that happenes when he's exposed to Kryptonite.
Now consider what we have actually seen these past 4 episodes
1. Clark's progression into Superman gets STOPPED in its tracks the Legion notice this and are like WTFFF????
2. Clark becomes WEAKER
3. Clark being with Lana would mean the death of Superman.
4. The more Lana is around the weaker clark gets until the point where Superman may sease to exist
She makes HIM sick, she makes us sick, she ruins his character she makes him regress she destroys ANY chance Superman..IMO the writers WANT us to dislike lana and want us to see that she is not good for him in anwy way shape or form, she is the reason he will never become superman..she quite literally by the end of it is the thing that kills him if he gets too close to her..she ruins any chance of clark being STRONG and becoming Superman.

Hear hear!
I stopped thinking Lana was good for Clark back in Season 2.
I'm glad the Lana character is gone simply because (as DontCha pointed out) she halts the progression Clark has in becoming the hero hes meant to be and with her FINALLY (yes, all caps lol) gone things can start to move forward again for him.

Yes I completely agree, but I still wish they hadn't left her with powers.

Fair enough but I think you are forgetting one important thing and that's Clark. Did anyone force a gun to his head to stay with Lana? No. He did that all on his own. He made a decision for himself to stay with her, he even said "Lana, please don't leave," after her kryptonite-poisoned self told him that they have no future together now and that she has to leave. He was pretty much begging, on his knees!!

Lana doesn't kill Superman if anything she helped save him. If Lana had not met up with Clark before he decided to 'killi' Lex then Clark would have completely transformed into a different person because killing an actual human being on his own would have changed him, and he might not have become the man that we all know him to be. Lana helped save him if she was not there he would have 100% killed Lex once he found him.
Yes Kryptonite can kill Clark/Superman, but that doesn't mean Lana is. Since the begining of season one when Lana would wear that necklace it made Clark weak in the knees and he couldn't go to her the way he wanted to. Now we end it with Lana becoming Clark's weakness once again.
I think it was a nice way bringing the kryptonite back, and in a way for the Clark and Lana fans it makes us believe that Lois is just Clark's seconds because he cant actually be with Lana so he moves on to her, but the Clark and Lois fans can believe what they want that it's true love. I say let everyone win and believe in what they want to believe in.

Lana's always been a show killer, this just puts that all into glorious technicolor.

That this is my whole reason for hating Clana...the Clark that loves Lana can never be Superman. Lana's Clark is a wimpy, love-sick puppy whose whole sense of being and purpose is wrapped up in Lana.
I want Clark to become Superman. When Lana is around....I just don't see Clark progressing....he just learns the same lesson over and over again. Progression is usually linear, not circular.

I'm not even all that upset with her being K infected. But giving her superpowers was wrong. Letting her keep them was worse.

Definitely. I was so sure she was going to lose her powers by the end of the episode but still be K-infected.

That is the message I received from Smallville loud and clear. Lana Lang kills Superman. Clark Kent will never become Superman by her side. It's like this in the comics too. :)

The entire arc was a joke. Can you even believe Lana Lang with permanent superpowers? I cannot. Therefore it's just another piece of this arc that was so nonsensical that it was actually comical.

Yes I completely agree, but I still wish they hadn't left her with powers.
Does it even matter really? No one took the arc seriously. Everyone pretty much erupted with anger at one thing or another about the arc. It was nonsense.
In the end, they could have revealed Lana Lang to be Mother Teresa for all I care. In less than a month the producers will have forgotten this nightmare, the characters will have forgotten this nightmare, and hopefully the fans will have forgotten it too.

Exactly. And based on the intense negative reaction it got I don't think that PS3 will miss the message. Lana Lang has overstayed her time in Smallville and we are glad that she is gone.

Just saying...if it weren't for Lana, Clark wouldn't even have a reason to kill Lex...

The people on this site really have changed over the years; i remember when everyone loved lana...
Yes sometimes she can be annoying, but in the last few episodes I enjoyed her in the show. Its nice to see some of the original cast back besides clark and chloe!
I really do wonder why you people that slate the show so much bother watching?

Call it an unhealthy obsession, like Clark on Lana. :D
Seriously, though, I think since Season 8 started out so...great...
We're all hopeful SV can redeem itself.
We're just being pessimistic ATM. Ultimately, I'm still hopeful.
