Reckoning was the better episode that i thought, but Requiem made me cry.
You know i also liked, when Clark went to the scene of Lex's "death" and did that thing he always does when someone dies with the dirt in his hands.
I thought it was a nice moment.

Requiem.
Reckoning didn't really make me cry. The final scene in Vengance made me cry FOR SURE.
I have to admit, out of all the Smallville episodes that I've watched (that includes every single episode from seasons 1-6, most of season 7 and a few in season 8), the final scene in Vengeance with Jonathan's home video was the ONLY one that made me cry. Especially when he said "bye-bye." The camera shots, the angles, the music, AO and TW's acting... perfectly portrayed the emotions of their loss.
KK's acting was amazing at the end of Requiem, don't get me wrong, but there's still plenty elements of fiction in the circumstance. But at the end of Vengeance the raw emotions of losing a loved one was something everyone can relate to. That was one incredible moment I'll never forget in SV history. Thanks for bringing that up!

Reckoning.
Jonathan is gone forever. While, Lana is still alive and well (not to mention, superhuman).
But, really there's no comparison when it comes to losing a parent.

Honestly whats there to cry about in "Requiem"? Seriously Clark is from a race of highly intelligent, highly advance aliens. And he can't come to the conclusion that lead blocks Kryptonite(which he probably already knows because it happened in the pilot episode!). Why is it that kryptonite is so accessible and lead materials aren't in the Smallville universe? Oh wait I know now, becuase the show would actually make sense!

Not even a comparison IMO. Reckoning with Johnathan dying was more believable and more compelling.
Requiem was an embarrassment all around for the show and it's actors and a disappointment to many fans of Superman.

Neither. You know what the big tear jerker is? The scene where Clark is on his knees before Lana. He looks so weak and pitiful and I'm not referring to the effects of the Kryptonite. The Clana sex and Clana kisses didn't really bother me. It was that last scene. Clark just seemed so small.

The ending of Requiem was pathetic. It was sad that we see Clark Kent, on his KNEES, in front of Lana, but I guess that is a daily occurrence in the Clana drama. Lana has taken the super out of the future Superman. This scene just epitomised everything that is wrong with Clana. Clark's like a DOG panting for Lana's love. It was extremely painful to watch as a Superman fan.
Clark needs therapy.

Clark needs therapy.Agreed, if you realy think about it he sacrificed Johnathan for Lana. Smallville is just dysfuncional and psychotic. Not to mention when Clark dumped Lana she flatlined herself over and over, like a cutter. They both belong in an institution.

Once again having Clark screw this nasty girl, showing he cares more for sex than being a hero was indead tear jerking. He should have seen Lana put in prison for the horrible things she's done instead of screwing her until the bed breaks. That, too, was a sickening image and the writers have managed to make Clark a selfish jerk instead of a hero. This was completely appalling, to allow Lana to suddenly be hailed a hero instead of letting her get what she really deserves. What utter crap.

KK and TW did an amazing job in the last scene!!

Ryan, Vengeance, and the biggest tearjerker of them all, Reckoning.
I thought nothing could come close to the funeral scene in CR's Superman but whenever I see both Superman and Reckoning with the death of Jonathan Kent I lose it.
My mother died ten years ago this June and there is still an irreparable hole in my heart; personally I don't see how Requiem can even be compared to the death of a parent who dies young. Clark is numb in Reckoning, exactly how I reacted, but you can see the depth of feeling. And when Martha has Clark put on her pearls?

The funeral scene at the end of Reckoning is one of the most beautifully shot scenes and the feeling of Clark surrounded by friends and his mom but yet utterly alone resonates with me still. Requiem was garbage...Lana went psycho with Power and um...Clark's better off without her.

That was incredibly sad. That and 'Memoria' made my get sniffly the most, though being a Lolliepopper I also cried in 'Justice' and 'Siren' but I can admit I am biased when it comes to them.
I don't know, it is just difficult to cry over anything on tv that much anymore because everything is so overdone you just aren't sensitive to it anymore. Someone is on their death bed? Oh, that is so sad, but wait, hasn't that happened twenty seven times before now? Ya know, things like that.
I think the actors did a good job, but at the risk of getting objects thrown at me, I felt like KK was more into the scene than TW. I had a hard time buying both his 'what we have is beautiful' and 'I love you' it was just missing something. Though I think he is a great actor most of the time. KK however was very believable in her grief, and I felt sad when she finally had to walk around from Clark because he collapsed.
I'm by no means a Clana fan, but that was sad. It just didn't make me cry, that's all.

What might logically be bigger tearjerkers have been divested of any apparent emotional reaction because of the poor writing/directing of the show's creative team.
For example, think back to when Clark thought Lana died in Phantom and compare it to his reaction to Chloe's death in Bizarro. Clark would likely react more strongly to Lana's death than Chloe's, but inconsistencies in the writing gave another impression. Note that, when Chloe died, they first started using that visual effect that's now associated with Clark's superhearing.
Likewise, comparing Reckoning to Requiem is unfair because of the creative team's inconsistency. The final scene in Vengeance is comparable because of what took place in the scene - a portrayal of what Jonathan meant to Clark. The last scene in Requiem was effective as a tearjerker because of Clark's struggle to kiss Lana, his collapse, and Lana's hearkening back to the very first episode, thus alluding to their history.

I voted for Requiem, because it really signals the beginning of the end for Smallville. Lois Lane is Superman's girlfriend. Lana Lang was Superboy's girlfriend. So Lana's separation from Clark really marks the end of Clark's Smallville existence.
She was central even more-so than "Pa" Kent to the series' vision of an adolescent Superman.

Are we forgetting about "Ryan"? I think that's the title... when he dies... that was pretty sad and very well acted. Out of these two... someone dying is sadder and being someone who has lost people close to him, it def teared me up. requiem is sad when you know who can't be with someone... which i've also had happen. my life sucks huh? jk... so with all things considered, Reckoning was a bigger tear jerker... and the end of Vengeance was def a close 2nd. Requiem is prly tied with or 4th behind "ryan" or and i forgot about the one where Alicia dies... it wasnt as sad, but very very good. The idea was sad more than it was tear jerking.

No episode of Smallville actually made me cry, but I have to say Reckoning was the saddest for me.
In my eyes (which I had surgically immunized to Clana) Requiem wasn't sad, it was pathetic. The last scene actually made me laugh the second time i watched it with a friend. Cold hearted? Maybe, but never cared for Clana, and ain't never gonna.

TV was made for people like me who have easy access to their tear ducts...I cried during Ryan, Memoria, Reckoning, Pariah, that one with Wes Keenan in it, Veritas, the one that Lionel dies in, Bride...I could go on....yes I admit I cried at Requiem cos of TW's performance with Clark in physical pain, but the all time winner of the crying episodes is Vengeance. I bawled at the end :o

ok first of all i would say "promise" was the "biggest tear jerker" imo.....secondly i don't get the whole hating on lana thing..... clark's done stupid things because of her, true. however if we're saying that that's not realistic then we haven't been paying attention to most relationships.....Yes clark falls all over himself and thinks about only him and lana...but...1:he's not even superman yet he's still learning his destiny and 2:he's young aren't most guys his age chasin after the hottie????? Another question I have...Doesn't clark fall all over himself when he's older and he's around lois??? yeah that's superman's luv interest inevitably but why can't he love someone else before then? don't most of us? just my opinion guys.... :)

Eh, I was never that keen on him. He always seemed quite cliched and cheesy, with little depth beyond the "good-hearted dad". Schneider played it quite well, though.
Lana always entertained me more, for some reason, even when some of her developments were cringeworthy.

Requiem.
Reckoning didn't really make me cry. The final scene in Vengance made me cry FOR SURE.
:( Me, too! I thought that "Reckoning" was Really Sad, but it didn't hit me the way that final scene with Clark and Martha with Clark wearing his Dad's 'recovered stolen' watch, the video...everything about it from the moment that Sad guitar music started playing was Soooo SAD, IMO. Even today, if I watch Vengeance, I'll get watery eyes at the end or cry with Clark when he just wails on his mom's shoulder. It wasn't that way for me with "Requiem".
IDK, it's Weird, but It felt as if Lana Was sad to have to leave Clark, but she wasn't as sad as Clark was about it. I guess it might be because she told him that the life of a superhero was the life that she wanted. She'll Still have that, whereas Clark will just have to suffer without her until he heals some as is able to move on... CHOOSING to look Forward toward 'his' destiny rather than backwards at what he and Lana's lost.
Although, I didn't have that lingering sadness with "Reckoning" like I had with "Promise". I felt sad for days afterwards. Even though I didn't shed one tear for "Requiem", I'm still feeling sad about the 'whole' thing; meaning Clark and Lana trying to ressurect their romantic relationship and it's on the heels of Clark and Lois beginning to develop feelings for each other. The devastation that was Chloe's wedding, ALL of it. I'm still feeling it. :\

Cut to the very next episode and Clark has pretty much forgotten who Lana is. Another reason why I hated the way this darn story line ended, it was over and then Clark was all 'Oh Lana left, yeah, that kind of sucked oh well, hey Lois wanna go for ice cream?!'

That montage with Clark pouring the ashes over at the truck, cut to Oliver looking at Lex's portait and holding a green kryptonite ring, not to mention Lana and Chloe hugging was one of the most powerful and emotional bits on the show.
In hindsight, most of S10 would have been more poignant if they'd cut out most of the talking head-drama and replaced it with brilliant camera work and shots & atmosphere.
