I totally heaved up my dinner. Clark preaching to Chloe about being good? The writers have been smoking some hard core crack.
I couldn't have said it better than Alania. One of the only parts of this episode that was actually good was when LANA left!
The only redeeming quality this episode had was Oliver Queen's bare chest in the hospital scene.

I just found out that Lana ends up being the equivalent of a human kryptonite! I cannot even explain how happy that made me! OH MY GOD! Lol. This is cheesier than the ham and cheese sandwich I just ate 2 hours ago! LOL. Poor Lana fans! Everything they do to Lana is so damn lame. Even her heroic ending is stupid. I mean, human kryptonite. Really? Really? Is that why KK was so happy? I'm human kryptonite! Weee!!
I'm glad that Clark Kent cannot go anywhere near Lana Lang ever again. Hey, if a romp in the shack and a few kisses was the ticked that needed to be paid for this, I'm all for it!

I did that as well. It was a mixture of disbelief and disgust. Though I must say, I handled it better than last week. That is probably because this time I wasn't expecting them to handle it well, whereas last week I had hopes they'd write a good story for closure. I was terribly wrong.

*Raises hand* It was disgusting. Given the choice, it is evident that Clark would choose Lana over Lois any day, period... at least, the Smallville's version would. It undermined everything that will come between Clark and Lois because we, the fans, will know that Clark will not ever have left Lana by choice.
oh my gosh. that's what i've bee nsaying this ENTIRE TIME! this totally goes against cannon! i mean, i am not a mythos scholar by any means, but lana was merely supposed to be a high school sweetheart, but smallville has taken it RIDICULOUSLY too far! I am sooooo sick of seeing them make lois a consellation (spelling???) prize. why are they diminishing the iconic character of lois lane by making lana the clark's undying obsession?? this is nothing against kristin kreuk at all, because I've seen her in interviews, and she seems very well-spoken and sweet, but her character should have finished running it's course around season 5. this just frustrates me... very much so!
(Note: I am sorry if this has been said several times before in this thread. I started reading from the beginning, and I really agreed with this post, so I just replied to it. The only redeeming quality this episode had was Oliver Queen's bare chest in the hospital scene.
When I saw that I was like 'Good. Good.'
(Family Guy reference.) And I was smiling like an idiot, nearly giggling from
thinking that because it was hilarious. (I mean, how many times do we
get to see any guy in this show both in a hospital bed and shirtless?
I'd take care of that poor sickey!)
Then my dad came in to tell me goodnight and I was trying to keep from cracking up. I have got to start locking my door or something on thursday nights.
(He doesn't always do that, but it would keep my SV watching uninterrupted.)
Anyway, back on topic, mentally (because I'm usually not one to yell at
the tv) I was screaming at Lana to leave near the end. I did want to roll my eyes
at the "bed scene" though. Should've seen it coming.
But she's gone. No more Clana. Now onto Clois, which I've actually started to like.
It's certainly doesn't make me want to spork my eyes like Clana does and it's more
fun to watch Clois, too.

At first, I was like okay... another Clana kiss. I am used to it by now and can't expect Clark to grow a pair in just a few episodes! I even chuckled when I saw Clark macking on Krypto-Lana and then I felt a little sad.
I have come to like KK's acting and portrayal of Lana in these couple of episodes!! But it cost more than half of the regular cast members, their characters!

Smallville suprises me with how sexed up it has been lately. But I can't complain, there has to be something to make up for the horrible writing. (Talking about Justin Hartley and Sam Witwer, I vomited during the sex scene between Clark and Lana. Did they really need to add the feathers? It seemed like a really horrible BD rip off...)
Clois is amazing, but I'm not sure that I'll be able to get back into them unless Clark whips himself into Supes shape. They[ED and TW] have so much chemistry on screen together! I just wish it wasn't as rushed as it was previously, and its going to ruin Clois for me if Clark's pining after her in the next episode... :o
PS. Family Guy is beastly... :D

I didn't puke or cry or laugh. Clark just looked pathetic in that last scene. And after he was the one to tell Lana without hesitation that she had to absorb the Kryptonite. For shame.
Huge missteps in this episode but overall it was a decent episode. Meanwhile with "Power" I saw screaming WTF? at the TV basically the entire time.

I hope so! I also hope they'll redeem his character because there is a lot of dislike towards the main character of the show and that is never a good thing. You know what, March 5th is not that far away now that you mention it....i think i'm starting to feel better. In the long run, none of this horrible writing will matter anyways. According to who? You? Come down off that high horse princess, the relationship was doomed to ruin. Most were annoyed by their relationship from the start. Lionel, Clark, Lex were the premise and intriguing aspect of the show. But the heart is Clark himself.
Besides, Lana's a deciever, killer, and cheated on Clark, slept with Clark's worst enemy, and much, much more. What kind of dysfunctional love was that? Psychotic, is what it was, and made the least sense.

I wanted to puke too. And I screamed and cried and wanted to throw things through the television. The worst part? I was forced to develop a hatred for one of my favorite characters; one that's supposed to be a hero. The whole show was set back to season five or six because of Lana. There wasn't even closure of any kind. Just one more piece of proof that this show really wasn't about Superman at all. It was about Clana. I've stopped hoping for any more. And it will actually make me angry if we get Clois in the last half of season eight. That's just disrespectful.
And I agree totally with Dominicus. Not only was Clana doomed to failure, it was dysfunctional; a rollercoaster from start to finish, and now harmful to other important characters.

That's what everyone is upset about. It shouldn't have been the "heart of the show for 8 seasons". Three would have been sufficient, four would have been tolerable and five would have been irritating but eight is absurd. She's his high school sweetheart. In fact Whitney was her childhood sweetheart so the whole thing is silly.

Clark will not be redeemed, he can't be. Clark is Lana's lackey. She can do no wrong. She is always right. Even when she acts like an immoral, law-breaking witch. The very fact that Clark WANTS to be with a messed-up, power tripping woman like Lana shows that he is not Superman or Superboy, and that it is very hard, in fact, impossible to see him becoming the Man of Steel.

The last scene where Clark struggles to get to her so he could kiss her, then he tuns green and falls on his butt...I laughed out loud at that point. My wife asked me "whats funny" and I replied that "I was turning green watching that scene".
Somehow that made sense (and was funny) in my mind at the time. I haven't been a lana fan for a long long time and am glad she is gone from the show.
When it comes to the character of Lana and Superman mythos, I understand Smallville has taken its own direction and interpretation of it all, but what always bugged me about the character of Lana Lang in this show, is how whenever she is around, guys turn into bumbling idiots!! Clark is not a man around her but a loved starved little puppy dog waiting for his master (Lana) to throw him a doggy treat.
The character may be in his 20's, but he is still a 12 year old boy inside and Lois who is coming back will have to knock his socks off as well as ours to make it believable that he loves her now.

The BS they pulled on us was petrifying...Power was bad, but this made Clark Kent look like Super Lana's sidekick!
Seriously a waste of time. I truly regret watching this episode.Even through all the ups and downs with this show I have watched every episode, even if the reviews were bad.
But what PS3 have done is despicable. I will never look at Smallville in the same light anymore.
Having Lois and Clark be lovers in the future is just ridiculous after this episode. Clana was forced to be separated.
And Clark is not a man he is a boy and with the way they paved the path in Smallville it is because of Lana that he will become Supes... Lana this Lana that. This is not the journey of Clark Kent evolving into the Man of Steel. It is about a tragic relationship of Clark and Lana. And Clark's life after the love of his life becomes the martyr and a super hero at the same time.
This is as pathetic as it gets...I'm sorry but I am truly fed up after 8 years if this is what I get. What a disappointment:(

I watched this to see if it would really be as bad as I was expecting. Well, it was even worse than I was expecting. On the plus side, Lana is gone, and the CLOIS relationship will now be pushed to attract viewers. TBTB know that people liked that part of Season 8, so they may decide to do a lightswitch and go back to our normally scheduled CLOIS. It's just a show, you as a viewer can just say that the Lana arc did not count. It was just an experiment gone bad, and the writers will not do anything that stinky again, at least for awhile.

I hope you're right. The writers pay no attention to character arcs that aren't in the episode. I mean there is no explanation why Chloe isn't with her severely injured husband or where Lois is if she's not still sitting by his bedside. They just live in the moment. I suppose they'd have no problem with Clark bedding Lois in the next episode. Who knows what to expect anymore?

I never thought I'd say this but I agree!
Will the real Clark Kent please stand up? :(
The writers will have to allow him to stand up and Welling needs to stand up to the writers and TPTB. Tom has the power to end this show or to save it. As the song says......."Somebody Saaaave Meeeee". Welling has to save Smallville as a show. Right now it's not worth saving unless major changes are made.

I was lucky enough not to watch the episode.
*Raises hand* It was disgusting. Given the choice, it is evident that Clark would choose Lana over Lois any day, period... at least, the Smallville's version would. It undermined everything that will come between Clark and Lois because we, the fans, will know that Clark will not ever have left Lana by choice.
I was disgusted and mildly, no scratch that, rather frustated! After this it is clear, that the future Lois is Clark's second choice, and that is an undesirable place to hold! I may not be a fan of hers at the moment, since I find her pushy character irritating, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone, not even Lois deserves that!

And yet Lana still roams the earth with supernatural powers. Are we to believe she'll never be heard of or heard from? Why do we even need Superman now when Super Lana is saving people all over the world? Does this not lessen the need for Superman and make him less unique? Lana is even more powerful because Kryptonite doesn't hurt her. These writers clearly think more of Lana than they do of Superman.

The Bionic Lana is just a wrong idea. I don't know what they were thinking. Maybe it's temporary.I'm hoping that too, it is a Lex design, his crap always has flaws, the kryponite may de-power after awhile. She's been expose to too much kryptonite, she's diseased at this point. Lex got cancer from too much kryptonite exposure in the comics, so Lana's health is at risk. Besides, the human body was not meant to inhabit super alien powers. Luthor'S technology is not that advance to have recently discover alien-technology and able to create superpowered host with abilities equal to superman in less then half a decade and work on the first try. it just not possible. it's not even scientifically sound. Stregnth increasing is more believable, but speed accereleration of that magnitude would make her heart stop.

I don't know, she seemed pretty excited about embracing her destiny, knowing that she now could impact lives and save lives and Clark was teh one who seemed to continue to be the victim. He risked his life for a little last smooch and who knows what he would have tried if Lana hadn't left? It was pathetic. Now Lana is off saving the world and Clark is left in the stupid barn. The only think that get me hope in that nasty kiss was the fact that when Lana tells Clark "I would always love you". Clark responds "I love you" and leaves the "always" out b/c if he did he'll be lying to her.
CK does always love Lana, he forever always love Lois.

But then, I remember AlMiles was once saying in one of the interviews (or probably it was in a bonus feature in DVD), that they know exactly what SV fans wants, so they don’t give it, but just a little bit at times. Not their exact words, but I’ve heard they said something like that. Maybe this is their idea of keeping the fans hooked.
But honestly? This time, their successors completely failed. JMO
I was utterly disgusted at the sight. I felt so sorry for Tom.
After 7 and half years of playing freaking Clark Kent and now he had to do this? geez
Why can’t he shine above anyone else? He is the star of the show. PS3 obviously miss the note.

You know, I had absolutely no reaction. After watching the train wreck that was Power and the utter contempt TPTB showed to the mythos and fans with the Clana kiss on top of the DP I've been in a state of numbness.
I mean how could it get any worse? They treated a character whose fired the imaginations of millions for over 70 years as garbage and all those that are fans of that character as insignificant.

I'm hoping that the two producers remaining will come on this board and communicate with us. I've never seen the board so riled up and I've never been this riled up. I'd just like to know why they did what they did and if they'll start respecting CK and Superman.

It was an awesome kiss because Clark endured so much pain just to be able to kiss Lana one last time.

And in that third pic, Clark looks like Bizarro.

Honestly, just watch The Mummy, and that will give you an idea of how this kiss was, plus honestly don't waste your time with this episode. It was that bad. Clark didn't even exist in this episode compared to the way he has been in the first half of the season. They really butchered his character so that Lana's could look like some sort of hero type of person. It was so over the top ridiculous. Believe me, any episode was better than this and Power.

Heres hoping Clark uses that Legion Ring or something to erase these awful events that have transpired...I mean wow, how could they have done this to such a promising season?? Im not sure it can recover after that mess.
Im still convinced Clark will get Jor-El's help to alter the reality somehow so that he can don the true persona of Superman and the mild mannored reporter Clark Kent. Anything that helps Clark get some of his dignity back.

I didn't think 'Requiem' was that bad. My biggest problem with it was the Wonder!Lana aspect but that was hardly the fault of this episode since it was carried over from 'Power' I mean I liked the Toyman and Oliver and Chloe and seeing Lex again, even if it was in Darth Vader-ish form.
There were some definite questionable choices made in the episode, no doubt, and some of the dialogue for the kiss at the end was more of those, but it didn't bother me nearly as bad as 'Power' did. Plus there was a sense of relief that the Wonder!Lana storyline was done for now. Hey at least Clark didn’t say he’d ‘always’ love Lana, the way Lana told Clark, he just said he loved her. So that’s something, right?
So it didn't make me puke, but that would seem rather extreme a reaction. It wasn't like anything overly gory was going on, though that kiss did turn rather nasty with the green veins in Clark's face. It made me feel a teensy but nauseous but that was from anxiety, it didn't make me puke or gag or anything.
The last time I think I felt like I might upchuck was that episode of Supernatural with the undead surgeon that cut the heart out of a living and awake man's chest. *shivers* Scenes like Clana, meh, not so much. Even the supersex, as cheesy as that was, just made me roll my eyes more than anything.
'Power' was pretty much like an adolescent Mary-Sue fan fiction, and so some aspects of that rubbed of on 'Requiem' but the episode wasn't as bad as its predecessor.

1. Clark going to kill Lex.
2. Lana with powers.
I am trying really hard to let go of Clark going after Lex's blood and rationalizing it. But this is the last time PS3! Clark does not KILL or intend to kill under any circumstances! But geez, can they somehow resolve SuperLana. I don't want the knowledge of Lana out there somewhere saving lives like Superman. Can they deactivate the Superstrength and speed. Otherwise logically she should be in the Justice League or some other crime fighting force. Anything, just take it away. Lana Lang is not a superhero. She can be a kung fu secret agent for all I care but please, do not make her a superhero.

It was downright embarressing for Tom Welling to play that scene out! I could see he wasn't on top of his game and probably hated every second of it. The only good thing that came out of it was that when he signed on for S9 he made sure that the storyline would be actually "good". His character this season is nothing compared to what we saw in Power and Requiem thankfully.
There was absolutely no respect for Clark's character in the entire arc. Absolutely the worst crap I've ever seen on this show.

Oh, viewers were definitely blindsided by this arc! There was no spoiler or warning out there to prepare or brace us for the worst, which of course Power and Requiem were.
Basically, in December you had an interview with ED talking about a conversation that her and Clark have in an upcoming episode (Infamous because of the content) where Clark's telling her intimate details about himself, and they're saying, "wow, do we really love each other", etc. The writers were going to take the Clark and Lois relationship into that territory last year after the first half's buildup, and there was even a kiss that was to happen in Infamous between them.
Well, obviously after Power and Requiem aired, ED went to the showrunners, and thankfully they agreed not to have them kiss or do any proclamation of love. It would have been laughable, even more laughable than this debacle called Power and Requiem. I mean how stupid is the bed breaking nonsense? Or Clark looking like a mummy at the end of this episode in a grotesque manner falling to the floor and struggling with the words "I love you". Just pitiful. Simply pitiful.
ED and TW respect the characters and the mythos, and know that this sort of material is ridiculous. I'm really glad that ED did what she did to preserve the dignity of Clark and Lois' relationship, and I'm even more glad that TW held out on his contract negotiations after this garbage aired. It was downright embarressing! We won't ever see it again. I'm sure of it.
But, yes I agree I wish we would have been prepared, but even more I wish the writers had never collaborated on such a storyline for Lana in the first place. It was just terrible. There was so many better ways for her character to exit that wouldn't have impacted Clark or the rest of the storylines for that matter.:\

That's why I'm curious if the P/R arc was indeed supposed to look like that from the very beginning if they had such plans for Infamous. I wonder if they didn't change their plans at the last minute. But why? Stalling Clark and Lois's relationship is one thing but inventing this? And it's not even so much about Clois but about Clark. Oh well:\
I'm so happy it's behind us. Our patience has been rewarded :)

Well at first, they wanted a triangle between Lana, Clark and Lois, but I believe ED asked them not to do that out of respect. Then, the writers collaborated, and in one interview KK said she didn't want Lana to think of Clark as the "end all be all". That means to me that there might have been a different ending in store, but that the collaboration had Lana going out with the power suit thing and her character being the "end all be all" instead. I don't think that was the initial intention, and the reason I think that is because of all the spoilers and interviews surrounding the regular episodes and the interviews surrounding that arc. AM changed the scene in Power where Lana saved the day at the lab. It was supposed to be Clark. Oh well, I guess having Lana steal Clark's thunder was just the norm for that arc and the series, so in the end nothing really progressed between them or the storylines. It was the same old same old.
Anyhow, these episodes are behind us for good, and we're seeing a much more productive, proactive and happy Clark which is really all that matters.

Guys please....vomiting??
Look....I'm not one of the Clanas.....I'm one of the Smallvilles....(:p)
and I have to say that although I didn't like some things about this arc I am re-watching these now and again....Clana had to have some closure.....and although ARCTIC video goodbye was good enough for me....I think that last scene of REQUIEM showed that Tom and Kristin are teriffic actors....they brought their A-game there....the only thing that bothered me in REQUIEM was that CK had sex with her the moment he saw she had powers....was he that much needy? He totally forgot about the almost-kiss with Lois in BRIDE and he has sex with Lana....I think that having second thoughts about this whole relationship in BRIDE,LEGION,BULLETPROOF and POWER was right about CK's character....that video in ARCTIC wasn't much of a closure but a bit of a questionmark...(adding Tess to the direction of that video for me was a nice touch and linked season 8 with season 7 quite well.)She was his first love....but the recent re-watch of season 7 made me realise that their scenes in WRATH,BLUE,PERSONA,SIREN and finally the events of VERITAS were about Clark (and maybe Lana) realising that maybe they don't belong together because there will always be somthing keeping them apart...and that fact reached its climax in the events of REQUIEM....Lana is a tragic figure for always needed other people to depend on....but making this final desicion to go away from CK was really mature and needed and showed that she finally strayed a little from the little girl in the fairy princess costume.(Although now she has kryptonite costume lol:p)
Lois is a much more independent character and fits perfectly in CK's world because she knows she is her own person and she doesn't think that she has to have powers to be independent....I think its a nice closure to their storyline....and IF that Lex Luthor was really Lex and not one of his clones as seen in season 10(which I hope he was a clone because that would make Oliver not to be a killer and Lex not really dead) was a fitting thing to do to reach his true evilness....though it smacks of desperation something that Lex isn't.....so please....no bashing on this arc....watch it as an overall story that it maybe dragged a little
PS I just realised that Chloe was right in WRATH...Lana(or Isis) did bring the great god Ra(or Clark) to his knees....gotta love the irony right???;)

For me the problem and what I hate the most with this arc is they gave clana drama story so much importance, they made it stronger than should be and in that moment make Clois look second to the awful clana.
I ´ll always hate it no matter what and would like to think that never happened, sadly it did.

It really made CK look bad b/c of his regression to this drama feast that simply has never been worth it....Lana never made Clark Kent happy...Ck has never been proud of his for Lana.. She didn't get it....this is written fact in SV....
Lana arc was just played out to really anger Superman fans...b/c it just really get to me that Lana is out blinded to what she should see & know....her pedestal is gone & CK has found another women.....simple & clear....if comic Lana has to face Clois with all the regret/pain in her heart what makes SV Lana any different. This version needs to witness Clois love as poor Oliver did & with the respect of how mature Lois handle Oliver in romantically ending Lollie in "Crossfire". Oliver got the point & he today understands why Clois are together.
We need one of these closure scene with Clana.

I agree. I don't know why the writers just couldn't write clana talking to each other maturely and making a quits together. jeez was that so hard :\
