Not really sure how heroic of an ending Lana got. I mean yeah she saved the city, but that was so minor of an event in the episode. I understand Lex's good idea to do that to Clark and Lana, but the whole last scene was just so unbearable. Another terrible Clana ending like there have been so many times. I don't hate Lana, I just think that her ending could have been a lot better than that. Why even bring her back for that 5 episode arc? Did I mis something vital to Smallville? I don't hate Lana, I just feel that they screwed her up by having her pretty much a ball of kryptonite Clark can't be around anymore.

no u dont understand.that was a herioc ending.if that bomb would have exploded alot of people would have died including Clark b/c it was a kryptonite bomb.she risked her happiness and a life with Clark just for the sake of countless lives

The rooftop scene was dramatic, but it would only have been heroic if she'd died.

No, I wasn't rooting for that...

Heroic my butt! There was nothing heroic about Lana Lang .... period. Yes the ending was touching, but no Clark had to give her one last kiss... The kiss of death is what that was. But I knew that was how it was going to end a long time ago. She gets infected by the Krypotine, so now whenever Clark goes near her... he's weak. Why didn't they just kill her off to begin with?! That would made more scince (excuse my spelling people) Have her die from the explosion by saving Clark. And who's stupid idea was to give this character perminit powers to begin with?! It would made it easier for Lana to understand that the suit was no good for her to begin with, if it she knew it was going to eventually killer. No human being can handle such great power, not ever Miss Lana Lang. Finally this arc is over... now the producers can focus on the man storyline of the season... Clark moving on the next phase of his life, and ... Clois.

I agree with you so much, thank you for capturing my feelings about this whole thing.

Actually, he was weak when she was around even before she was infected with Kryptonite

Really I find it utterly fitting that because Lana so recklessly decided that her decision to take on the powers from the suit that it ultimately costs her the relationship with Clark she so desired. Though this isn't the best ending to a pretty dysfunctional relationship, I do appreciate Lex's genius for cruelty. I doubt SV could actually have permission from DC to kill Lex off...

All in all, I wanted to hate the episode from the complete and total mess that was Power, however, despite the over saturation of Clana scenes, the episode as a whole was well done. I loved how JH and AM interacted throughout the entire episode and the dark turns for both characters were unexpected but believable for the two characters.

Getting back to the idea that the send off for Lana was heroic though is an idea I cannot subscribe to. It was yet another reminder to Clark that every decision that you make has absolute and lasting consequences and for this episode it was Lana's irrational decision to return, reveal herself to Lex, and ultimately her need to become something she wasn't that severes the one person who would have forgiven her for all her mistakes. Now Clark's greatest mission in life will be to design a lead dental dam and a lead condom...woohoo. Oh yeah, and to help those in need....but he'll be working on designing lead toys in his spare time.

So, why didn't Clark step back and use his heat vision to cut the wires to the bomb?

This was another agonizing episode to watch... They make Clark look like such a jerk... one minute he's about to kiss Lois, the next he's in bed with Lana... Sheesh... Not very Supermanly... Thank God Lana's gone...

Clark told her to do it.

Clark told her to do it.

So Clark is actually the one that sacrifices not Lana. Also, didn't he kind of shove her in the direction of the bomb...or was that wishful thinking on my part?

No I don't see it as heroic. It was a big sacrifice. But there was a lot of selfish behavior leading up to Lana putting on the suit. And her reasons for putting on the suit... I'm not sure about how heroic they were. Seems like Pete in "Hero" and Oliver in "Rage" a bit to me.

I'm sorry, but people who marry supervillians, are dumb enough to live with Bizarro for a month, steals, lies, and tortures people after they reform isn't heroic at all.
