lana lang: hahahahahah
chloe and oliver were really butchered too. whats up with them killing and becoming evil? and i mean besides chloe since she has the braniac excuse (but even then still), but GReen ARrow!?!??! come on? hes supposed to be a superhero, stand for justice, etc. so im sure getting him to kill ppl was superb.
clark kent: DOUBLE HAHAHAHAHHHA PFFTTT YA RIGHT. thats not superman. thats superbaby

Chloe
Clark
Oliver
Lana

As far as Steve Lombard not being in the episode, maybe he was going to be there originally, but the story got rewritten, and he got written out.

Lana's emotional scene at the end won her vote for me. But Oliver was a CLOSE second. Love his storyline now. His character was given a seriously needed edge.

Considering how much I did NOT like that episode, maybe I SHOULD have voted for Steve Lombard, but I stuck with Chloe.

I'm gonna say Oliver! (*I liked Toyman too though--he was great!)

But, I say Oliver because...with him, you always get the real, raw deal!! ;)
He at least kept his manhood in tact tonight, even after being in Lana's presence!! Which is more than I can say for Clark!!!:mad:

Since Lois wasn't in it, Oliver, always Oliver, Clark better watch out or he'll lose the superhero title.

Oliver was my pick also... well he already lost it since we have our Super heroine none other than Lana

Lex Luthor. He proved that Lana Lang is no where near his equal. He used her lust for power against her and then blew it up in her face. He just proved he is top dog.

Also I give kudos to Oliver Queen. He did what should have been done years ago. Although we all know Lex isn't dead . . .

I don't think there is one yet, Metrogirl! But, regarding Clois, there's no need for it. We need Lois back to start thinking clearly again, Clana has made a havoc in our senses! But Clark was left on his knees, crying and suffering; Lois coming back, he'll see that loving someone is not that painful and he'll find peace and bliss with her. Just give it a time, now! :)

Actually I really want to vote for the Clapping Toy Monkey.
He stayed in character in ALL of his scenes.

I always love Oliver. He's on the edge of ethics all the time, and this time he just decided to cross the line. But for the good of humanity. He's very interesting.

I'd say Jimmy is my most favorite character of this episode. He seems to be the only decent person left.

I'm aware he is in a coma.

Even in a coma, he is still my favorite compared to all the others that were on display in this episode.

How about Lex?I was pissed that MR wasn't there but we have to admit that he found a very devious method to get back at Clana.

02-06-2009, 06:39 AM
It is the first time I vote for him and the second time I don't vote for Clark (even if power doesn't really count lol) : Oliver Queen.
I can understand his hatred against Lex. Really. The only thing I can't admit is the way he wants to let someone pays for his crime. That is absolutely immoral.
But for the rest, yeah, whatever we can say, if someone attacks your family, you want to hurt, to kill even if you don't cross the lines, you can feel this way.

im gonna say clark because no matter what people say, he showed so much emotion in this episode from anger to fear to even a huge breakdown when he kissed lana in the end. clark hands down!

Clark and Lana were very close but Lana was my favourite character in the episode because she sacrificed her happiness with Clark to save Metropolis. She prevented Clark from trying to hurt Lex out of her greater love for Clark than her hate of Lex. She made Clark proud and reminded him at the end that their love would never die. It would have to live on in their heart for the forseeable future.

A very heartbreaking but inspiring send off for Lana Lana, the first lady of Smallville.

Lex Luthor. Up to this point in the show, I didn't think much of Lex. He always seemed a little too whiny, and a little too in his father's shadow. Even after he became evil, all he'd really done was turn into Season 3 Lionel: evil businessman who can hide behind the law. I know that's what he was like in the comics, but because I'd already seen Lionel do it here, it just didn't quite work, especially since Lex always came off as more of a spoiled brat (look what I can get away with) than the MB did.

But then Requiem roles around. We see Lex without his money. Without his connections. Without his resources. Deprived of his very mobility, and stuck in the back of a truck on life support. And he does more damage in one episode than Tess, Davis, Zod, Brainiac, or any of the other Big Bad's did in a season. He had the hero community quaking despite being a crippled invalid with no powers, ended Lana and Clark in the nastiest way possible, blew up the LuthorCorp board, nearly took down the Daily Planet, forced Oliver to cross the line, and did it all in one episode based on nothing more than his own brains. Lex has been evil for seasons at this point, but it was this episode that sold me on him as Superman's archenemy.

After that, Chris Gauthier was great as the Toyman. They made a relatively silly character work incredibly well in a live setting, something I don't usually expect from Smallville. He was a great Dragon for Lex, and reinforced the message of what a smart, capable badguy can do, even if he has no powers. Lana, Oliver, and Clark were also far better than usual. Generally speaking, I think we saw everyone at their best, and had a great villain of the week, but the prize money goes to Mr. Luthor.
