Lana leaves with nothing truly settled, the ending is ambiguous. Enough conflicting signals are given that the fate of Clana is left in doubt (with a big opening for KK to return). There will be evidence Clana’s done, and evidence it isn’t. So, the debate
continues…

Yeah, I’m a pessimist.




Worst possible endings for tonights episode:

1. Lana dies, and Clark rebounds with Lois, so we never truly feel that he wants to be with her.

2. Lana gets infected with kryptonite and tells Clark that because he now gets sick every time he gets near her they cannot be together, so Clark lets Lana go and again chooses Lois simply because he cannot be with Lana.

Best possible endings:

1. Having been pushed to far by Lex, Lana decides she has to kill him, Clark stops her and
tells her she isn't the woman he fell in love with, and tells her to leave and that he no longer wants to be with her, Clark now realizes that Lois is the girl for him.

2. Through the episode we see Lana and Clark together, and even though it seems they are perfect together, he begins to have doubts and when he sees a picture of Lois he realizes he is in love with her, and at the end of the episode he tells Lana this and she wishes him all the happiness and leaves. Clark can now pursue Lois and we all know that he had the choice between Lana and Lois and chose Lois.

What do you think of these endings? and do you have any ideas of your own.

Has there ever been this much negativity and pessamism going into an episode before? Not that I can remember.

The only good thing I can take out of that, is the fact that when people's expectations are low going in, it is harder to be dissapointed, and easier to be pleasantly surprised. Although based on everything we know about this episode, it is hard to think of being pleasantly surprised as a realistic possibility.

I have absolutely no faith in this episode at all, simply because the writers have shown us how they handle Clana.
