Isn't this a new Season?

I'm sorry, I guess this is a general message, but isn't this a NEW season, why is it under season 3?

Also this new season looks pretty cool, the idea it self seems kind of ehh, but until now it has been executed very good. I was kind of sad that Ando's power is only supercharger not accelerator/amplifier. Look forward next episode, and Sylar's story (finding his roots, etc) looks cool.

NBC is the only ones calling it a new season, even though it is a new "volume," it will be on a Season 3 DVD. So, for all intents and purposes, at least for now on the forums, it's Season 3.

Um, it's episode one of the 4th volume, not of the the season. This is still the third season, it just happens to consist of two volumes, volume three and four. Volume three was 'Villains', volume four is 'Fugitives', still part of the same season, just different volumes. Clear and present danger was the first episode of volume four, but the fourteenth of the third season. Make sense yet?

Beeman said on his blog that the way they're going to handle the mid-winter breaks is by splitting the season up into two volumes. So I think NBC just got confused and called it a new season for some reason. And again that's why I said, total fail.

It has nothing to do with the strike, Tim Kring just thought it was the best why to deal with the mid-season interruptions. At least that's what I'm reading there. So maybe your the one that should think, before starting something you can't possibly win.
