I'm thinking about that photo of the boy on the mantle who I assume to be Syler. His uncle must have cared about Syler somewhat and Syler realized it.

My guess is because he is only person who was actually openly honest with him. No questions asked he just told him. Sylar seemed to appreciate that. Maybe some hint of good?
