Okay guys. First of all, I think we can't really judge Lana's arc because its not over yet. If you walked in halfway through surgery, it would look like murder.

Granted, the way they are handling the Lana arc isn't how I expected it to be done, but it could yield the exact same result. And the fact that Lana's departure is so well connected with Tess and Lex and Clark fit in well with dynamics already being formed this season, instead of just five isolated episodes of Clana drama.

In "Bride," she was merely a guest at the wedding, the episode was all about Doomsday.

In "Legion," she assumed her future role as Clark's friend and confidant.

In "Bulletproof," we grazed the surface on her return and on her role in Clark's past and future.

"Power," was definately the last Lana-centric episode. I know alot of you don't care too much for it, but it did have its many pros. Lana returned with strength and for the first time, shes not totally dependent on Clark. She's grounded herself and she knows who she is, she's not insecure like shes been the last seven years. Her goal isn't to ruin Lex, its to change the world. That's a very positive and encouraging thing for Clark to witness.

"Requim," looks like it has other plots, and Lana's involvement is merely the B or C plotline.

The thing that gets me, is that Smallville has had large quantities of consecutively bad episodes before in the past, and people are seriously ticked because of two ones that were less than stellar? I know that season eight set the bar pretty high, but really...

On the bright side, no matter what, after next week Lana is gone.

I just hope that everyone who hates Lana can take a second and think about how this arc really is different than her past involvement in Clark's life, and how she now really is embracing adulthood and maturity in a way that will really effect him like it should.

Ut oh. I'd change the title of your thread. Craig is posting not to use the "h" word regarding ships...I think it extends to Lana alone as well.

I agree, but then I don't really hate this arc.

No problem. And to your point, I totally agree. I can see how this Clana arc may be considered a worthwhile journey (So long as it's Clark's choice to end it). I'm holding my breath until next week.

But, overall, I was captivated and interested throughout the entire episode. It was very well done.

Yes, that is the only bright side and it couldn't have come soon enough!!! I had nothing against her coming back before this episode cos I do think that she and Clark need closure if he is to move on, but now I can see that when it comes to Lana and Clana the new PTB are no better at handeling it than the old ones were! So the sooner she is gone the better!

This confusing me. What 'h' word?
