View Full Version : Chloe's opinion of Clana.

Chloe had some nice things to say about Clark and Lana's relationship :)
Clark saw the Clana as some of us see it. As something that held him back. But Chloe saw it differently and urged Clark to give it another chance.
What do you all think of Chloe's opinion? Do you share her sentiment? Or was it just stupid for her to say?

One thing that really bugged me about this episode is the scene where Chloe tells Clark to go to Lana and tell her his feelings. Wasn't it Chloe who was telling Clark not to hurt Lois the previous week? If Chloe is worried about Lois getting hurt, why in the hell would she encourage Clark towards getting back together with Lana this week?

^ that also bothered me. It showed a major inconsitancy in writing and made chloe look bad in the process.

Of course she doesn't want Clark to hurt Lois, but she also knows that Clark can not not hurt Lois until he has figured out his feelings for Lana ;)

I don't know...
For me it makes no sense to tell somebody not to hurt somebody, and then encourage them to do the very thing that would hurt the person. It is like telling someone not to shoot somebody and then handing them a loaded gun. Makes no sense.

The fact that Chloe is back in Metropolis again instead of being with Jimmy at Star City tells me everything that I need to know about how bad the writing on this show has been.

This is exactly why no one other than Tom Welling needs to be contracted for all episodes.
And yes, the fact that Chloe is advising Clark to tell Lana how he feels is exactly lightswitching Chloe from last week when she was admonishing Clark for hurting Lois.

Pretty much. This was a key example of Chloe being shoe-horned into an episode for no reason.
She should NOT have been in Metropolis... bad writing!
It would have made more sense for LOIS to have that conversation with Clark, actually. She could have walked in, saw him watching the vid, they have an awkward moment. The second Lois tells Clark to go after Lana & work things out with her, Clark is in the free and clear & no one would be angry about how Clois vs. Clana was handled.
Bad writing.

One of the dumbest scenes in the show's history. Clark was saying all the right things about Lana then and Chloe.. the voice of reason.. tells him to pursue Lana.
Its like the writers put that Clark dialogue there to make fun of fans who say the same thing about Lana, only to use Chloe to give their own opinion about Clana and why Clark should try again.

I liked that Chloe stuck up for her cousin before, just like I enjoyed Lois warning Clark against hurting her cousin in season four. I like them watching each others backs, because there was a time when I was a ChloLo fan.
But I don't like it when they try to interfere in one another's love lives. Offering friendly advice to one another? That's fine, but saying something to their love interest . . . I don't know. I think no one should be playing match maker in any way. People just need to work things out for themselves.
So I didn't much like them having Chloe convince Clark to triple-think (he'd already double thought it) his relationship with Lana. I don't blame it on Chloe's character, I just don't care for using one character outside of a ship to promote said ship.
I'd rather the two people in the relationship deal with that on their own.
Chloe has her own love life to worry about after all, and with her husband still in Star City, I'd think the last thing she'd be concerning herself with would be Clana, but then this episode had very poor writing so I think Chloe is excused from bad dialogue/thoughts just on that basis.
Certainly it wasn't the worse thing in the world, and she isn't to blame for what happened between Clark and Lana later. That is all on them.

Exactly! That is what it even worse. Clark was FINALLY being the voice of reason saying all the right reasons why he should leave his relationship with Lana in the past where it belongs and then you have Chloe tell Clark to pursue her when she spent the previous week telling Clark not to hurt Lois.

They 'Promised' her. Bad writing.
How about they use her time to concentrate on her rather then Clana, Clois, and whatever the heck else. I could have done without it last week and I could have done without this week.

The problem is that Clark may have been saying all of the right things, but they weren't for the right reason. He was ready to give up on Lana only because he thought that there was a reason why she left. This was before he knew about the kidnapping.

I think Chloe lost her brain when they carved Brainiac out. She is not herself anymore. Chloe even said it herself when she woke up. I hope they fix this alongside with her screen time.

I agree. Chloe, who is one of my favorite characters on this show, took a big hit this week. Not only did she reverse what she said last week for no apparent reason, but they gave us no indication that she cared about Jimmy or what was happening with him. She seemed casual and relaxed in Metropolis, with no mention of Jimmy. So, why the hell is Lois babysitting Jimmy when his wife is in Metropolis hanging out, getting coffee and supporting Clark in his love life? How could AM have been okay with that script portraying Chloe in such a way? It doesn't make sense. Last week, we got to see Chloe, and got an excuse for why she wasn't in Star City at the moment. It worked out fine. She was with Jimmy most of the time, but came back just for a moment because she was needed. However, she was anxious to return, and we got a mention of Jimmy's situation. This week? She came off as a completely different person. As a Chloe fan, I'm really pissed at how they've written her in Power. Honestly, when they first got the script, did no one mention that this is opposite of the previous episode? It's not like it's contradicting an episode from a year ago, but it's actually contradicting an episode that came just before this one. No one noticed this or had a problem with this? Not the actors, not the writers, no one?

Chloe was totally out of place in this episode. Especially when what.. two episodes ago she was packing up to go and be by Jimmy's side? What the hell is she still doing here?

I couldnt have said it better!!! :)

I honestly dont know what the deal was though...
It may have just been bad writing...consistent with the rest of the show.
BUT....I can also see where she's coming from. Clark was ripping on the fact that Lana didnt have the guts to break up with him in person...and the tape said it all. what was chloe supposed to do?? Sit there and listen to him without speaking up?? Chloe knew that Lana was forced to make the tape..
I dont think she supports Clana at all. but she does support Clark, Lana and Lois. Like Clana Kent said, Chloe knows Clark isnt over Lana....not really. He was mad....and if he is ever going to be with Lois, he has to move on.

I agree with this, and I'll add that in the flashback scene Chloe's character seemed almost 'ditzy' compared to who she usually is. Once again, it all falls back on the writing for this episode and how poor it truly was.

But, she knew that same exact information last episode, and so why did she even mention Lois or the feelings Lois and Clark have for each other? That's what doesn't make sense here.

What I don't understand is, Lois has feelings for Clark. Chloe sees that. Chloe knows Clark still has feelings for Lana. Chloe told Clark not to slam the door in Lois's face. Chloe tells Clark to express his feelings for Lana. Chloe doesn't know if Clark has feelings for Lois. She just didn't want Clark to lead Lois on. If Clark and Lana are together, Lois knows she doesn't have a chance. That's how i interpreted it.
I saw it as last week Chloe warning Clark not to hurt her cousin because clearly Lois is pining. This week Chloe told Clark to answer his feelings; don't just push them deep down and avoid them. That's it. She didn't pimp anyone this week or last.
