View Full Version : Once again they denigrate the uniqueness of CK

Will it never end? The whole point of Superman is that we have "a strange visitor from another planet with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal man". For years we had to endure the freaks of the week with super abilities; lame super abilities for sure but instead of seeing the unique abilities of Clark Kent we see people breaking glass by chattering their teeth and others exhibiting supernatural abilities. Now we see Lana becoming an advanced freak of the week. I suppose she's the freak of the month. They have such a wonderful, built in story with the amazing adventures of Superman but instead they concoct these far out, incredulous scenarios that make Superman just another freak. Now Lana can do what Clark can do and probably isn't vulnerable to Kryptonite. We have had Aquaman, Victor, GA, the Flash, Lightning Lad, and I can't remember all of the intergalactic freaks (not to mention a lizard that is roaming around at the fortress) and so where does that leave CK? He's the Dick Clark of Superheroes; still chasing after his high school sweetheart who can probably kick his butt. It just gets sillier and sillier and sillier. It's time to shut it down. We will never see the Man of Steel.

It was, that's the shock of it. It was as if the writers actually got it and now that Gough and Millar are gone we're going to get the real deal. Now we have this garbage.

With what they are doing I can't take another season unless we see the Man of Steel.

It's not the powers that make Superman unique. You have 100,000 Kryptonians on the comics proving that right now.

It's sad. As a kid I grew up in awe of Superman. Here we have this full grown man who can't leave his obsession with a cheerleader from high school and can't be bothered to fly so the writers keep him power-retarded while creating other superheros because the one they're supposed to be writing about isn't interesting enough. It's very sad.

They were contractually bound to bring Kreuk back for five episodes from what I've read and they decided to save money by telling Durance to hit the road. It's about the money.
