Since when can't you help and change the world without having super powers? It's ridiculous, why can't she help the world in her own way without super powers? It doesn't make sense.

Why can't Lana have superpowers?
Like Lana said, Clark doesn't have to worry about her anymore and they can both make a difference in the world.
Equal partnership. :D

How does she deserve them? She doesn't. She wants them for revenge, that's all. She's not a hero like Clark. She's not an "equal" to Clark either.

Why? Because the character is a freaking mess. They have destroyed Lana so badly that they have to resort to shenanigans like superpowers to make some sense out of her character. That's why.

Lana is ridiculous at this point.
Like you said...last time I checked millions on people help save the world...and they dont have one "super" bone in their body.
If she seriously feels the only way she can make an impact on the world is through super human abilities...then she really has little confidence in herself or her abilities.
She wasnt ready to play a God last season...and she isnt ready now. It's going to blow up in her face.

That was the ending line. I don't know what to say about that......Doesn't it sound like Clark and Lana were about to usurp the world with their power?

I don't remember that line, but it sounds semi-Biblical to me.

LOL! Perhaps Lana is seducing Clark to the dark side.
So much for Clark not wanting to "rule them with strength."

Yea, I caught that too.
But heck...I'd love to fly if I could, but I wouldnt intentionally go out and seek it like she did.
It really honestly makes me sad for her. Most people would trust the gifts that they already possess...not seek to genetically manufacter some. :\
If she feels she's meant to help people....then I'm sure she has some skills that would qualify her to do so. She doesnt have to become Clark to do it. :(

by lana saying she 'liked' the power, shows that she craves powers, not necessarily for the benefit of mankind. For all we know, she might have ulterior motive for wanting the power

Personally I don't think that this story arc did the Lana character any justice...I had pretty high hopes about having her go out on a good note. I'm not a Lana fan by any means. But I was kind of hoping the writers would end her reign on the show in such a way that it would make me feel good about her influence on Clark. I don't see how that'll be possible now...I just want her to go away already.

Exactly. Like I said in the previous thread, I never hate Lana. I never dislike her in any means. I'm just impartial to her. But in this episode, the writer just made her downright stupid in my opinion. You don't need an actual power to be able to save the world. She can do that with the Isis Foundation. Isn't that why she created it in the first place? When she didn't know Clark's secrets she seemed to be content on being just the founder of Isis. She could make a lot of difference by being the founder with all the meteor freaks running around in Smallville. But when she found Clark's secret and obviously remembering on having it before, she tasted what it felt like to be a 'God'. I think she realized why Lex does the things he does. Lex doesn't have abilities but has power because he's filthy rich. While she was researching for Lex about the Ares project and discovered Prometheus she discovered the means to be able to be more 'God' than Lex. That's just my two cents ^^

Now she has totally lost it. The look in her eyes when she was talking to Clark during the last scene made me frightened. She is nuts and dangerous and will have to be stopped in the next episode. Posessed by the aim to be finally on one level with Clark and to get to him she has lost her mind, poor little Lana :)
But nothing against KK, the short hair suits her better than anything.

It makes sense because she wants to be Clark Kent and have everything that he has...just like Lex. Um, maybe she is Lex's equal after all:lol:.

Lana hasn't lost her marbles...it's the writers who wrote her story like this, that has lost their marbles.
