View Full Version : Why is Chloe around and not beside her injured husband?

No kidding....
My take
The whole Chimmy thing should be explained; but if Jimmy is fine then Chloe should damn well be down here trying to help save the world instead of babysitting Jimmy

lol good question. i guess she feels safe with lois babysitting him!
i have asked myself...okay shouldnt you be with her husband...but also its not like she cant be in the ep...
she's contracted to be in all 22
jimmy isnt.....there you go...
they just have 2 write it like tat...they could though write something like in bulletproof..."i have to get back to the hospital" or sumthing like that...
nd lois isnt with jimmy just for jimmy all together...its also clark who is keepin her away for awhile...i would like 2 hear sum chloe lois conversation about clark...tat would b cool

So her husband has severe internal injuries and could die any minute but Clark needs her to answer questions about Lana. It's not like Chloe couldn't fullfill this role from Starcity using her Cell Phone.
How do we know Jimmy is still in critical condition? We don't. I'm sure we'll find out in the next episode or two

Maybe they think we're not smart enough to notice.....they should have shown or said what happened to her husband in Legion...it just adds to their failures. Sad!

This continues to amaze me. How stupid do the writers think we are? Chloe is still assisting Clark's every move and hanging around Isis and Metropolis while Lois sits in a hospital room with Chloe's husband. This was such a good season before the break and now it is down the dumpster. How can they have Lois gone for this long with Chloe's husband while Chloe is still in the show doing the same old stuff? Can't they see the silliness of all of this? AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. That and she served a purpose in the plot. Since Power took place the day after Bulletproof, my guess is that Chloe was going to head back to Star City, but stayed after she found out about Lana's disappearance.

I thought she mentioned in the last two ep's that she visits Jimmy, like when she was about to visit him at the end of Legion and she said something about visiting him during Bulletproof.

jimmys kinda annoting anyways so who cares, hes like the most boring of all the characters...
I said this in another thread maybe she can't stay in Star City all the time because she has to work to pay the bills.

Bleh! when Martha left for Washington they at least made a 1min scene where they said goodbye to each other and CK saying how he can easily go to her in an instance. That at least tells us after that episode, oh yeah CK visits his mother from time to time. They should at least cut a bit of the roof scene with Lana and give a bit of importance to the plot of the story presented to us, instead they just brushed it off and left us to asssume....and you know what happens when you assume=)....still i say bad writing.

A quick mention of Jimmy would have filled a plot hole without taking up precious screen time. A 42 minute episode is hard to fill out with all the necessary elements. Dang, I'd love it if SV moved to HBO and was produced without commercials!!!!!! Then again, we'd probably only get 12 eps/season that way! Ya just can't win.....

Just like you said in another thread galatians221 (which is hilarious--you are so funny:lol:), Chloe has no husband to go to because Lois ran off with Jimmy. That's why Chloe was pushing Clana--she knows from experience that you have to strike when its hot or else someone else will come in and take your man.

Lol, I could careless, Lois has nothing to do right now, and they are trying to finish the Lana part up before the end. Once lana is gone no worries for the disloyal lana haters!
I personally get tired of seeing Lois and Jimmy's annoying selves. Always retarting the TV. Maybe if they were given some parts in the show then just fill-ins for now it might be more fun to see them. Although after seeing the episode where clark and lois were in the chair and lois said she loved him! (I liked that one, except for the end) Otherwise meh to them. Chloe well... it is a good question... why WAS she not at Jimmys side... we know nothing of how he is... where IS doomsday? Nothing... and brainiac? I don't know if I am happy ... however, I might not yet be gone.... since clark has a legion ring!
Guess we will just have to wait and see...

I wish that they had said that Clark supersped to Chloe and she helped him while still in Star City. That way she can be at her husband's bedside. It is much easier for Clark to come to her then the other way around. That way we would get a Lois and/or Jimmy mention.

I know apparently Erica is only supposed to be in a certain number of episodes per season, but it is just annoying how she is apparently nursing Jimmy while his freakin wife could care less that he almost died! Jeeze even if they don't want to show Jimmy, and I am not a fan of his character, he is still one of the main character's husband and he should atleast get a mention. I totally agree. This just makes Chloe look cold...
I honestly just think it's bad writing, but it seems everyone wants to cling to it as a "character flaw" of Chloes.
Even though in Bride...she literally packed up Jimmy's entire life for him, and made cookies.....hours after having an alien life form ripped from her body through electrical currents. So she clearly has no emotional attachment to her husband.

Maybe we'll hear that Lois told Chloe she prefers to stay w/ Jimmy instead of heading back to Metropolis right now. So, Chloe understands and lets Lois stay w/ him.:\ Still, Chloe is his wife, so she SHOULD be there regardless of whether Lois stays or not!!
OR, perhaps....Lois is not in Star City....maybe she made a quick trip to Gotham and we'll hear about her meeting/spending time w/ one Mr. Bruce Wayne????;)-----okay, I know, far fetched, but at this point, I'd rather have Lois hook-up w/ someone else...

The writers evidently don't think of this stuff or thing that we're too stupid to notice. Last week, Chloe is practically threatening CK about not hurting her cousin and one week later she's encouraging him to pursue Lana. Do they not think that we pay attention? Do they pay attention? I mean Allison Mack directed this episode. Wouldn't she go to the writers and say that her character would never say this after telling Clark to not hurt Lois? Duh.

We don't know for sure that Lois is still at Jimmy's bedside, she could be doing other stuff, like taking her allergy shots and taking care of Shelby (I miss the "Where the Hell is Shelby?" threads!), that dog has to be somewhere!!! Yeah, Lois barely tolerates Jimmy at the Planet and all of a sudden she's Florence Nightingale at her cousin's husband's bedside? Give me a break. Even if she's upset about Clark and Lana, do they really expect that Lois Lane would sit and sulk in a hospital in another state? This story makes me want to shoot my TV with a double barreled shotgun.

I don't think the writers think that logically. They probably forgot that Jimmy was in the hospital. They'll worry about Lois later and she'll come back and announce that she's abandoning journalism to be a nurse.

Why is Chloe not in Star City sitting at the hospital bedside of her gravely injured husband.
And why is Lois still at Jimmy's bedside? She told Clark that she would stay with Jimmy until Chloe returned. Well Chloe has returned.
Or is Lois at another monster truck rally? Is the Dailey Planet holding Lois's job open while she gone? Do you get Family Leave Time for a cousin-in-law?
Not that I want Lois to be back in Metropolis. There will be plenty of time for her to become Clark's sloppy second best love after the pink goddess/superlana is gone.

I've been thinking the same thing...I mean come on, that's a pretty huge oversight. The writers must think they have us in the palms of their hands if they think the can just blow that past us. After all, staying with this show for this long has required some dedication, the least they could do it pay enough attention to details like this. We shouldn't have to be asking these questions. But I guess we also shouldn't be asking why they needed to turn Lana into a power hungry freak just to get some closure...

What's with everyone trying to hook Lois up with the scum of the superhero-community? First Oliver, now Bruce?
There are lots of heroes in the DC universe that actually are happy having just one woman.
Just bring in Wally West. Then you don't even need the Lois Lane clone he's married to in the comics.

If this is the case then I feel real sorry for Jimmy as he has been left alone in a hospital, in another city, with his wife going about life as usual with nary a care in the world. I could only justify/understand Chloe being away from Jimmy's bedside IF Lois was still there as her replacement - not that it makes a lot sense as my take on SV Lois Lane would be that as soon as Chloe returned she would bury herself in her work to get through any heartache she may be feeling and busy investigating new stories and getting on with life. :\
Lois may be writing up articles on a laptop and sending them in...I just question how she could investigate stories while sitting in a hospital if Chloe is wandering off all the time and she is left to care for Jimmy.
Its as though they've ignored the fact that Chloe is now MARRIED just to suit the purpose of these stories. I've read reviews and comments on other websites expressing confusion as to where Jimmy and Lois are since they were last seen in Bride. The comments indicate that many do not realise that Jimmy is still in a Star City hospital; they see Chloe in the show and assume that the caring Chloe they know would be by her husband if he was that badly injured.

Having Chloe marry Jimmy ended her usefulness to the show. She can't be CK's sidekick and I'm struggling to see what value there is in her being married to Jimmy unless it advances Lois and diminishes Chloe in importance. I'm sick of Isis and anything else related to Lana and freaks of the week. The writers have boxed themselves in and may need to bring Lana back for S9 or else they'd have to show Lois and Clark and the Man of Steel and they're not about to do that other than his fighting that stupid lizard.

The comments indicate that many do not realise that Jimmy is still in a Star City hospital; they see Chloe in the show and assume that the caring Chloe they know would be by her husband if he was that badly injured.
I can't wait to see what excuses we get after Lana leaves to explain all the inconsistencies we have been shown in just a few short episodes...
Maybe I should have phrased it as not permanently glued to her hospital chair. Jimmy's a big boy, too, I think he can handle being left alone for a while by Lois. He's certainly on the mend if his wife Chloe is able to leave him long enough to go have tete a tetes with Clark. As for Lois; I'd bet she'd find some hospital scandal to report on as well as having getting scoops from her personal connection to Star City's own superhero.

Meanwhile Doomsday is hardly mentioned and no one asks where Davis is. I mean MM got a hole in his shoulder the size of a cantaloupe and walked out of the hospital a day later and Jimmy gets some lizard scratches and he's still in a coma? I hope someone is bringing Lois some soup or something. Clark was ready to kiss Lois and was dancing intimately with her you'd think he could bring her some fresh underwear or something.

I also wondered why Chloe would ever leave her gravely injured husband's bedside.
And why Lois has not returned to Metropolis. Unless she at another Monster Truck Rally.
Lois told Clark she would stay with Jimmy till Chloe returned. Well Chloe has returned.
Is the Daily Planet still holding Lois's job open? Do they give Family Leave Time for a cousin-in-law.
Perhaps because that gravely injured husband is on the mend and has kicked his wife and her nosy cousin out of his room so he can have some peace and quiet.
Family leave is not necessarily given for that connection, but where I work, people can donate their own leave time to people who need it. However, I would expect that Lois still has her job and is simply sending articles as a correspondent in Star City.

Maybe Lois is secretly in love with Jimmy???

The lack of a mention of Davis doesn't worry me so much; after all, nobody was expecting him to come to the wedding. Doomsday, yes. Oh well. :(
MM was shot by a normal bullet just below the collar bone and has his arm in a sling, iIrc. Painful, but survivable.
Jimmy however, was sliced and diced open by probably very unsanitary and very lethal Doomsday paws that can harm Superman. Internal injuries are nasty and septicemia can kill if it sets in. Not quite so improbable to me, but close.
Oliver has also proclaimed himself Lois' friend; he's a good candidate for bringing Lois food and clothing, especially since I believe she was staying at his place while staying with Jimmy.

She's doing an in depth article on lizard claw marks on the upper torso.
