All hail Lana. Lana the stunning, whose presence made Lex Luther fall head over heels in love with her, whose self sacrifice makes Clark become Superman. And whose legend/destiny will rank up there in the 31st century with Superman.

I thought that Smallville was the story of Clark Kent's journey into becoming Superman not the deification of Lana Lang.

I thought that KK came back to Smallville to complete the 5 episodes in her contract from last year. I was hoping that PS3 would use this opertunity to bring closure the right way to Clana. I was wrong. It's like Al/Miles never left. In every episode, KK's beauty is stuffed in our Faces. And in 3 episodes, Clark is a love sick fool again. And the progress made in the first 10 episodes is down the tubes.

I remember Al saying in a commentary on one of the Smallville DVD about the luminous quality of KK's face on screen. And I thought KK is a very pretty girl but so are the other actresses on the Show. Why can't the writer/ptb get past this BS.

If this is the last season of Smallville, I hope this 5 episode Lana Arc doesn't spoil the rest of the season and leave A bad taste in everyone mouth.

Does anyone remember the painful 5 arc Clone episodes of the 3rd season of LnC? This is becoming just as painful.

Can the series recover from this?

I'm disappointed too. There was so much potential here to do this in a way that made BOTH characters look good. But I guess PS3 only care how Lana looks.

Why should Tess tell Lana she's stunning? Tess is pretty great looking herself. Lana is so egotistical to imagine that she is Lex Luthor's equal? Ridiculous. I cannot understand what these writers see in this character. I really like KK, and I agree that she's beautiful, but the character of Lana detracts from all that is good about this show. The last five minutes nearly ruined the entire episode for me. I had a lot of faith in PS3 to right the wrongs that AlMiles had created, and they did such a good job all year. They could have done so much here, and both Clark and Lana could have really been good friends, even if they loved each other, and really said the things that needed to be said, and really sent Lana's character off beautifully. Now...I am very, very afraid for what they have planned. It seems like all the wrong kind of drama, and I no longer think there is enough time to truly sell their closure.

The Lana arc has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Whether it ruins the rest of the season for me remains to be seen, but I'm annoyed if Clark is just going to snap back to Lois after this whole Lana thing. This just could have, and should have been done so much better.

Yes I too was hoping they would have more of a closure and with 3 episodes left for lana to be in i dont see how much closure they can bring to the clana relationship.

Actually there is only 2 episodes left.
And I don't think any of us will get the Clana closure we were hoping for.

I think that is what many of us are worried about. No closure. Even if they proceed down the road to bring Lois in and move Clark towards his destiny, I think the worry is there will always be Lana waiting to return or her presence will somehow be felt even if she is not there.

wrong, Wrong, WRONG!

Did you watch Legion and Bulletproof? Clark was being proactive in both of these episodes.
He didn't suggest that he could give it all up for Lana..he just thought about the fact that it doesn't have to be all or nothing. Now, Lana isn't going to be the person he ends up with - but i see it as progress, since he somtimes think he's destined to be alone because of his heritage / responsibilities.
