View Full Version : Why was Chloe on this epi

I like the character Chloe, and for me, it was nice that she put in a plug for Lois. But setting my Clois aside, I started to wonder why Chloe was at Isis, which is in Metropolis (correct me if its really Smallville). Her husband is in a coma in Star City after a brutal attack on their wedding night, and she is at Isis doing some computer research for Clark after John Jones is shot? That part did not work for me. I did not need to her Lois's name that badly, that I wanted poor Jimmy up in a hospital without his wife. I know it is just TV, but that is my reaction. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I wondered that myself. First, how far away is Star City?
If it's in Kansas too, well, I'll be kinda p.o-ed. Metropolis isn't even supposed to be in Kansas, but I'll accept that for the sake of the show. But Star City is supposed to be in CA!
I have to rewatch the episode, once itunes actually LOADS it for download. (*grumble) but I wonder if Chloe hadn't left for Star City yet? I thought Clark said something about 'thanks for staying a bit longer. sorry to keep you, but...'
but I could be wrong.
I know that AM is contracted for all 22 episodes, but it is a shame that they're showing her in Metropolis when she should be caring for her husband. I wonder how they'll explain it in Power and Requiem?
Maybe she's borrowing Ollie's jet to fly back and forth :)

That would have made more sense to me.

I don't see why Clark can't take a run to Star City. They could have redone some lame coffee shop set and had her handy with a laptop. I would have more easily believed that than that Chloe flew all the way back to Metropolis with the intention of immediately flying back to Star City.
Add me to the MIA list -- I'd rather no Chloe at all than a scene where the entire point was to put her in the Clois supporter category and push more pins into the Chlarkers just for sh*ts n' giggles.

Star City, in the comics, is supposed to be some amalgam of Seattle and San Francisco, I think. It would be at least a four hour flight --- and for what? Something that could be acomplished over the phone? Ugh! This show.

Chloe was there to help Clark create his fake cop identity.

I'm a huge Chloe fan but must say that if this is how they continue writing her after Brainiac face I want that black ball to come back and fast :D
Seriously I was expecting A LOT more coming from her in Legion already. They're just dragging the whole story through these fillers episodes :\

Chloe was written into this episode because Allison Mack is contracted for 22 episodes!

Chloe was there for two reasons. To help him with his fake police ID and to tell him not to mess with Lois.

Since they clearly showed that Lana has computer skills, I believe the main reason for Chloe was to stand behind Lois' back.

Haha, that's the "real world logic" reason. Being an ultimate Chloe fan, I loved seeing even a glimpse of her, but I agree that it was pretty lame to have her rush over to Metropolis from Coast City (which, yes, is in another state) just to help Clark a bit, when he could've just as easily super-sped on over himself in FAR less time. I assume they wanted us to believe that she had to have access to all that Isis tech to work her computer wizardry. Still, I'm not going to be the least bit upset that I "had" to watch her for one scene, lol.

well she shouldnt ahve been, what kind of wife leaves her husband in a coma in some far away city?
bad writing man, bad writing
Lois is being a saint, god bless her for looking after Jimmy who should be Chloe's responsibility in reality.
Chloe you've dropped a few more notches for me.

Completely agree. Also Chloe was only in town to pick stuff up and was clearly in a hurry to get back. But hey, if Jimmy is unhappy and want to end things, that's a bonus.

Ok, she was just techno exorcized .... and she didnīt leave him, because she never left SV in the first place, I think Bulletproof timeline is following Legion with the difference of hours I think, which was the reason Clark said: Good thing I caught you before you left to Star City ...

That makes a lot of sense to me :) That would also be a valid reason why LL hasn't returned yet.

Meh Chloe was there to pick some stuff up.
Considering AM is contracted for all 22 epis she had to appear, even if it was only brief with her preparation for directing Power.
Much alike TW did last season for Sleeper. I thank TW for that, he was hardly in the terrible episode :p

I'm glad Chloe was there. She said right away something about getting back to the hospital after she took care of some things. I really like AM a lot, so I enjoy seeing her in any scene, and I would have missed her being absent from this episode. Plus, I loved how she stuck up for her cousin! She's as loyal as they come!:)

Clark said: Good thing I caught you before you left to Star City ...
OK that's what I was looking for. I wondered if I missed something on the epi. That makes sense.
...
except I would have thought Clark would have speed her to Star City within an hour of her coming out of the Brainiac thing.... but that's another can of worms. I don't want to get to nit picky;)
Personally I don't think Chloe should have been in this ep. What I think happened is that AM is contracted to appear in all 22 eps but she needed time off to prep for directing Power, especially since she is a first time director- hence the one scene that was entirely useless except to show us that the chlo-lo is still alive.
