With only about 30 or so episodes left in the series, after this season, we'll be looking at the last 17 episodes of the show. Hopefully we'll get a better look on how the writers plan on ending the show. But since we're only two episodes into season 5, my question is, how do you want lost to end? Forget what you think will happen, but how do you want to end it?
For me, I've always felt that after the oceanic 6 got off the island, Lost could not end with everyone leaving. Especially since I feel like John Locke, if he is alive at the end, would never leave the island. So there has to be a different ending. I think for me, for lost to completly end, I think the island has to be destroyed. They did say something about a volcano. It would be interesting for it to set off and destroy the island. I could see Ben doing it so that Whitmore could not have it. That way the people who are going to live will get off the island, and there would be no more new lost stories because there is no island. I could also see Whitmore, Ben, Locke, Sawyer, Juliet, and probably Miles be killed off. Jack and Kate could end up together, it doesn't matter to me. The end would also have to explain Jacob, the monster, and why the island has time traveling abilities.

wow how i would want it to end. hummmmm. well i dont want it to end all happy but i dont want everyone to die. i think id probably want it as the island going back to normal. like have everyone become an other or atleast part of the island and for it to be safe from witmore. it would be cool if it happened like 50 year from now they could bring the island back and make another series lol. but seriously i want there to still be danger and stuff but for everyone to get along like its all their homes. niether a happy or sad ending just an ending were they go about their normal lives and do what ben is trying to accomplish.
i would hate if desmond could change the future and past since faraday said he was special and make it where no one ever came to the island cause that would just make the whole series a waste since it shows nothing we saw really happened.
i want everything explained and perhaps one of those things we see at the end of movies where we have subtitles saying so and so has done this for the rest of their lives and yadday yadda. like: "Jack figured out how to cure the pregnant women and became a great grandfather and died of old age. or "20 years after Locke was assumed dead he was spotted near the giant 4 toed statue where Aaron drowned while trying to swim to him. " i dont know that was lame but something like that to show how they lived the rest of their lives.

personally there is no overall 'ending' i am hoping for... i am glad the end isnt 'they get of the island' cause it's too easy after all this struggle
but honestly i dont care what the big plan is as long as each persons storyline is wrapped up well... and i mean all of them... i dont want anything left unexplained

ya i agree i want everything explained and wrapped up. when the series started i figured it would be easy they are on an island and the all get rescued but it turned into much much more then that.

and i'm so glad it did... i've been saying to people that when it first started i expected it to be one of those shows that drags a mystery on too long... but i've been pleasantly surprised... because what we actually have is a show that solves some mysteries and presents new ones at the same time... so when one second your going 'ohhhhh i seeeeee' the next your going 'whaaaaaaat?'

yup. it keeps you watching. once you watch the first season and the second you have to keep watching because you have to find out what happens next and you know there will be an ending. its one big story arc and not a new one each season. well there is a new one each season but its all part of the huge story arc.

yeah... it's an incredibly intricate show, and i've not been dissatisfied with anything that's happened yet

While I would love everything to be explained, I have a feeling there are going to be a few mysteries that won't be anwsered.

I don't want Lost to end all Stephen King-like. I hated the Dark Tower series when I discovered it ended like THAT. I won't elaborate or I might spoil it for people (if there are people still reading those series)
I want it to end with the jump forward with Aaron and Sun's baby on the island. Everyone dead except for them.

I can see this happening but I also foresee an unexpected twist as the show fades out that will leave everyone guessing for years to come. I just hope it isn't another Soprano's debacle where you are left to surmise what happens. That would make me shoot my TV screen.
