Bad Toad had just thought, what would happen if people read this episode minus the last scene and I was curious myself. So I created this thread to find out if the numbers would change at all?

Oh wait... I remember... :\

8 with the scene. 10 without the scene.

IMO, as a Cloiser, the whole episode was fairly good, until the dreaded last scene. If that wouldn't have happened it would have been a much better ending. It just felt funny, it didn't end right to me.

I rated the episode a 5. Without the last scene, I probably would've rated it a 7, possibly an 8.

I'd give it a definite 7 out of 10...I enjoyed all the other elements of the episode up until the last vomit inducing 3 minutes. I especially enjoyed the Oliver/Clark/John Jones scene.

As I said in the episode rating thread, without the last scene, I'd have given this one a 9.

5 without the scene, 8 with it...

As much as the last scene bothered me I would still give the episode an 8 (really a B+.) I didn't let the last scene bother me that much since I know that Lana is going to be gone in a few episodes and I really liked the episode. That said- if they pull something like this in Lana's last episode of the this season...then I'll have big problems with it. Kinda off topic but one of the reasons why I've never been a 'Clana' fan is that, to me, SV has never shown me WHY Clark loves Lana. It's like we have to take it on faith and just accept it. Oh well.

hmmmmmm

maybe an 8 or 9

I vote 9. I loved this episode. And for information I think I know why people rated this episode below average besides Clana stuf. Because the spoilers include the best parts of this episode like Tess+Lana fight and their conversation and there was nothing more to be that intresting when you actually see the whole episode. I wasn't sopiled that much and I really enjoyed it!

Great question. The whole episode was awesome save for the last scene.

Speak for yourself.

Clark going undercover was boring, cliche as hell. Every friggin show has the superhero or lead going undercover and finding out the cops are corrupt. How exciting!

The only saving grace in this ep was Lana's fight with Tess and of course the Clana scene at the end.

Yeah!

I don't understand why the last scene was bad. If you really break it down, it shows that Clark is really just trying to hang onto the past, and pleasantly surprising was the passionless kiss.

I actually think that last scene gave a real does of reality to both Clark and Lana and showed them that the love they had once is no longer there. What I didn't like was Clark's reaction to Lois' mention, however something good came out of that conversation as well. We saw Clark trying to convince himself that he "should" still be in love with Lana.

Yeah!

Yeah, Lana-Fu had some good moves, but unfortunately not good enough. She had to quickly draw a gun from under her wig to control the situation! Great action though!!!

I guess I just liked, that for once, I felt the testosterone in the show. The typical episode seems written by and for the females.

I like action just like anybody else, but they could've written an episode showcasing Clark being pro active without using the corrupt cop cliche to do it.

If they'd left out all the Clana, not only the final scene, I'd rate the ep a 9. I mean, I could have handled a few scenes with them if Clark didn't relapse, but everytime she was near he got that dumb, crippled look on his face. I flashbacked horribly to season...Wait! Not one season, not even just TWO seasons, but ALL SEVEN SEASONS!!!

well this poll is kinda weird because i don't think this was the best episode or worst with or without the kiss, i probably would have given it a 9.5 instead of an 8 without the kiss cuz like ive said somewhere else, i really hated clark's reaction when Chloe was talking about Lois and hurting her...he seemed cold and not interested. Like he had forgotten about the almost kiss

I actually saw an intense Lust in his acknowledgement of Lois. I thought TW pulled that off well.

From that delivery alone, I'm a little more confident, that this actor acknowledges that Lois is the end goal.

i give this episode an 8 even with the final 3 minutes. If not for that it would be a 9.

As for me. I did not like that seem either, but I cannot get over all the things that this episode did correctly. So I would say an eight or nine with the scene and a 10 or more without.

I wouldn't term it lust. Maybe a mixture of frustration, amusement, and admiration. He expresses a real affection for Lois but implies that she's high maintenance somehow.

I don't think you've looked deeply enough into the episode; the corruption in the police department was a typical cliche, it was meant to challenge how Clark views the delivery of justice. At points, he found himself subtly sympathising with and understanding the drive to murder criminals, and it took Oliver to remind him of his values and beliefs.

I voted 7 and it is for the whole epi. Clana kiss was annouced so I knew it would come. My vote won't change with or without the kiss. I don't have a fixation about this. I know things will change, Clark will be in love with Lois. For the moment he has to close his story with Lana, let it be.

It wasn't the best or worse for me. As a Cloiser, the final three minutes did not phase me. I wish they would have done the Lana coming back earlier in the season, and if KK is leaving the show for good, this current story line seems pointless. It doesn't seem to fit in an overall plan. The police part was good enough not earth shattering. It did address some of Clark's concerns about having a relationship.

I interpreted that more as suprise that Chloe noticed it, which is pretty impressive considered she been infected by brainiac, gets amnesia, is romanticaly pursued by Davis while she is trying to plan a wedding, then gets kidnapped by doomsday, ken to the fortress, almost killed by superheros, and her husband is in a coma in Star City, and Clark is calling her back to Isis to do a little computer research for him...but maybe I digress???

I wouldn't rate it the best, but I would give it an 8, before the last seen that is. The last scene made me want to throw my remote at the tv, but I love my tv too much for that to ever happen. I did however drop to my knees and scream NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!:(

I thought the cop plot was boring and has already been done before, at least the whole theme of someone doing bad and then doing good thanks to the help of Clark. Just seems like a way overdone plot for the series.

What saved the episode for me were the Lana scenes, then again I'm bias and have no problem admitting to it. :)

agreed especially after his talk with chole but let's remember this lana will be gone soon and when u ask someone who is superman's girlfriend they will lois lane not lana lang. our time will come we jsut need to be patient. but otherwise the episode was great untilthat ending

I rate it a seven both with and without the kiss. The kiss didn't bother me that much at all, in fact the only thing that bothered me was Tess telling Lana how stunning she was and praising her. Tess is supposed to be a sort of anti-heroine/villian. If anything don't you think she should have disliked Lana because of the trouble Tess would assume she caused Lex since she [Tess] hero-worshipped Lex?

Beyond that, everything was pretty decent and I liked the more serious storytelling in the episode instead of romance all the time and there was yet another moment in Clark's life that will later showcase his alter-ego as Superman and his values, and of course Green Arrow in action as well, that was kewl.

So taking the scene out wouldn't have made it any better or worse, in my opinion. But I wouldn't say it is the best episode ever and certainly not the worst.

There is a Lana-less 'Bulletproof' at http://www.megavideo.com/?v=M1QUBT0P that is actually very good. To me Lana's scenes were not even missed. However, some of the stuff with Tess is cut out. Even so, I liked it very much without Lana.
