If you are talking about the doctor who was also on Oliver's payroll, then you might have recognized him because the actor who plays the doctor also plays Lt. Gaeta on Battlestar Galactica.

Speaking of someone looking familiar, the actor who played Clark's partner Danny also starred as a character named Trevor in Hothead. When I saw the guy in the episode, I recognized him right away and said to myself "That is the guy from Hothead". It definitely isn't the first time that Smallville has recycled actors.

He looks just like Alessandro Juliani, Felix Gaeta of Battlestar Galactica.

Just checked, IT IS Alessandro Juliani!

Can't believe that there is no thread about this.

The doctor that took care of John Jones is played by the actor Alessandro Juliani, who also plays Felix Gaeta in Battlestar Galactica.

The real question is when Oliver called that doctor Emil? I totally missed that moment.

Right after clark said he cannot work on john jones and ollie said why because hes a martian then ollie said relax I thought someone should be on payroll to help us guys out and emil is one of the best and can be trusted. And clark said us guys like he was offended to being lumped in with john jones ollie and the rest of the JL. I don't remember the exact lines but it was right after they brought john into the hospital.

I thought that was him!! I wasn't sure since I think my roommate was messing with the picture brightness so it was kind of dark, but it certainly sounded like Gaeta. Nice to see him outside of BSG. :) I certainly hope we get to see more of Dr. (Professor?) Hamilton.

Right! I checked out, thanks.

Yeah it is him. I recognized the voice instantly once I heard it. Too bad he didn't really get any screen time. The leader of the rogue cops in that episode is also a BSG cast member. He was the landing officer on the Galactica in the mini-series several episodes and later moved to the bridge I think.

^ So, that's why he looked so familiar!! I was wondering.

I knew about Gaeta immediately. That was so cool!! My husband (a BSG fan) was kind of irked that the 'poor guy' was reduced to a part that could have been played by an extra.

I'm going to assume he had more screentime and it got cut... or that he's going to be a recurring character or something. Because would be a bit of a waste.

Most likely it will a recurring character, considering his importance on the comics.

I knew I knew Clark's 'partner' from somewhere. I turned on Flashpoint tonight, and of course it's Sam.

That's cool. There are quite a few shared actors, aren't there?

IA that he should come back sometime since he really wasn't used in this episode all that much.

Yah, I watched a bit of the season premiere a few weeks ago and saw him. It also has Veronica's dad. :)

It bugged me for a while and then it finally clicked. Danny Turpin looked familiar to me and I have just realised that David Paetkau played Trevor Chapell (who ended up with a big hand burn mark from Coach Walt) way back in season 1 in Hothead.

I checked all the threads and couldn't find anything covering this so apologies if this has been previously mentioned.

I thought I saw something in the episode description about this, but can't seem to find it now. I don't recall if it said who he played, or that he was a returning actor.

You could be right, Kal26. I hadn't seen any such reference but I remember thinking "man, where have I seen this guy before?" all through the epi.

Being a Smallville tragic I suffer from this affliction when I watch any other TV show. If they've been on Smallville I will generally recognize them, or work it out because it's bugging me so much. :)

Me too. Sometimes I watch shows that I would never watch just to support Smallville actors that may be on them.

The actor, David Paetkau, did play Trevor in "Hothead". I was kinda chuckling to myself when I recognized him. They recycled!

I already knew about David Paetkau from a while back. It was posted here on the main page some time ago. It's been a while since I've watched Flashpoint but I liked him and the show. Recycling doesn't bother me; supposedly everybody has a twin out there somewhere. I have a literal twin but also a figurative one at work who ironically and coincidentally enough shares my twin sister's name, lol.

As for Alessandro Juliani, I didn't know about him playing Dr. Emil Hamilton and when it was gently pointed out to me, imagine my embarrassment because I DO still watch Battlestar Galactica.

I loved both of them in their respective roles and hope we might get to see more of them. *crosses fingers*
