Well according to LnC, it was space mission where doctors could perform surgeries at Zero Gravity and it was a hope for cure for many diseases. Don't know about it in comics!

I thought it might have something to do with Lex Luthor. And then after Lana thanked Tess for not writing a story about her arrival, I wondered if Tess was sitting on the Doomsday story and if that had something to do with Prometheus.

I thought it was the expirement that was keeping Lex alive. You know, all the wires and stuff....

Classical reference: Prometheus steals fire from the gods and gives it to mankind (and for that he's punished by having an eagle peck his liver out every day--ewww!)

Hmmm...a lexcorp project to "steal" or at least imitate the powers of a certain god-like alien?

well in mythology prometheus stole fire from zeus and the other gods and gave it to mortals then he was punished by being tied to a rock were an eagle ate his liver then the next day the liver regenerated back so I'm guess prometheus has something to do with regeneration.

Uhhh, that's what Tess told Lana when she got all confrontational about it...so...yah...that's what I thought. Tess confirmed that Lex was alive and indicated that she knew where he was.

It's the project funding the full-body suit lex must wear to survive, and keep wires in him to live :D

yea tess said it was for saving lex's life, hopefully in the coming episodes we get to see more on this project and now with tess cutting lex off i wonder how that will go with lex where ever he is.

Agreed! During Lana's scan of Lex's files I saw a design for a full Body Armor. Probably the Smallville version of Lex's Kryptonite powered Battle Suit from the comics. It surely resembled it.

Yes, I absolutely agree. I saw the specs for the suit during the scene where Lana is hacking into Tess' WiFi device. I even started a thread on that here:

Yeah, image of the body doesn't necessarily mean body armor. Most of Lex's projects have been more biotech than mechanical. I'm thinking it's sort of a continuation of Aries and Gemini where he's swaping in parts. Mostly just because of spoilers and the line about keeping him alive.

Nope, it was body armor for sure. It was the very first image, and showed a body armor similar to the body armor from the comics. It said "Version 1" on it and showed the armor super-imposed over an image of a hairless male adult.

The body armor in the comics was actually used by Lex to keep himself alive after exposure to a lethal dose of Kryptonite. It was powered by the Kryptonite in his bloodstream. It also allowed him to weaken Superman by using kryptonite based weaponry.

Lex mentions Prometheus in Superman Returns.

I think the project is to design battle armor to save Lex.

In the comics Prometheus is lexs battle armour. Its pretty much the only reason lex is a physical thraet to superman other than kryptonite.http://www.buzzfocus.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/lex_render.jpgfile:///C:/Users/Nelson/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg

I thought prometheus was the project that programmed that soldier who was a friend of Lois. Was that a different project?

I just love the Greek Mythology terms they use for projects in the show. I mean do they really connect these names to what the project is about?
Prometheus ----

In Greek mythology, Prometheus (Ancient Greek: Προμηθεύς, "forethought")[1] is a Titan known for his wily intelligence, who stole fire from Zeus and gave it to mortals for their use.[2] Zeus then punished him for his crime by having him bound to a rock while an eagle ate his liver every day only to have it grow back to be eaten again the next day. His myth has been treated by a number of ancient sources, in which Prometheus is credited with (or blamed for) playing a pivotal role in the early history of humankind.

Hence, the battle armour is the power of the gods given to man.
