Anyway the new Friday the 13th looks awesome! I usually dont care for remakes but since we have had crappy F13 movies like Jason goes to hell, and Jason X for the past 16 years, I'd say a remake is exactly what the series needs!

Oh yeah, NOES 2 was horrible! its one of those movies that did not further the plot lines of the series.

smallvilleaddict15
01-18-2009, 07:49 PM
I concur!

red-K glory
01-18-2009, 07:51 PM

6-Super-Man -5

red-K glory
01-18-2009, 07:57 PM
Yeah it has the little girl in it who also in Halloween 4. It also has the mysterious dude in black. I mean the movie is not the best of the series, but it was the last of the classic Halloween films IMO.

smallvilleaddict15
01-18-2009, 07:58 PM
Oh yeah that one...I liked it. I mean it's nothing compared to the first one, but it wasn't too bad!

Isn't the little girl, Michael's cousin or something?

red-K glory

Yeah dude, the second one is the scariest in my opinion! Its the only Halloween movie that ever gave me nightmares. It has all those creepy shots of Michael walking slowly down the hospital halls. What sucks though is that the tv version cuts out a ton of footage.

smallvilleaddict15
01-18-2009, 08:05 PM

Dude I know! Like that part with the nurse right!?

red-K glory
01-18-2009, 08:08 PM
yeah, and most of the death scenes are cut out completely, so they just like disappear half way into the movie. Then when the movie ends they are talking about finding 10 bodies or something like that, when you only see like three people die.

smallvilleaddict15
01-18-2009, 08:08 PM

Agreed, and they had one of the most scariest movie settings to be in, an empty and dark hospital, aside from an empty and dark school.

By far one of the best horror movies.

One of my favorite scenes from the whole series is...

In the original first movie, when Michael is at the school, and I think the bully is going home and he runs into Michael, and its kinda like a pop-up, and its just hilarious cause the kid's face is just funny.

red-K glory

Yeah the movie is horrible in every way. Whats sad is that i own it on DVD, only because it came in a double feature along with Halloween 2. I guess thats the only way they can sell Halloween 3. But believe it or not, there are some serious fans of H3 out there. Seriously? That's kinda...um...weird to put it nicely. H3 had no real connection to MM, so it would have been a better movie if it was independent from the Halloween series imo.

I like Slasher movies with a hint of comedy or are campy. So Scream or Evil Dead. But then they might be considered horror? But I have seen quite a few of the 'non' funny ones and they're not bad. Not into the Saw movies though or anything with serious realistic mutilation - that is definitely not something I like.

I'd recommend seeing MBV 3D it was a fun experience. I had a good audience though - very interactive.

Yeah the Saw movies are ridiculously stupid. I mean come on, they are already on Saw 5, with Saw 6 coming out this year. I have only seen the first Saw movie, which is enough to know that the series is definitely over rated. I really don't care for newer horror films, or remakes. However MBV3D was actually a surprisingly good movie! and as for Friday the 13th, I think it looks awesome! I know i said I'm not really into the whole remake trend, but I think a remake is actually a good idea for the series, at least I'd rather have that than a sequel to Jason X.

The only kind of remakes I enjoy are ones that respect the old school franchise. While putting a new spin on the storyline making it different. Nothing ticks me off more when hollywood does a remake shot for shot, and word for word what was said in the original.

It shows lack of creative control and imagination, like they are just doing it to make a quick buck. If it's not broken don't fix it is what I always say so i'm looking forward to Friday the 13th and Halloween 2.

I can honestly say the original Saw is the only one I truely enjoyed. It was different from your normal slasher movies it had a moral message to it. After Saw 3 the series went down the toilet heck after Saw IV emabarasment. I didn't bother seeing Saw V in theaters I just downloaded the cam recording of it,watched it,then deleted it from my computer.

The only thing I liked about V is the conflict between Hoffman,John, and Amanda. I could sympathize with Hoffman about his sister's death. But John did make a point: everyone deserves a second chance,I just hope VI is the last.I've grown tried of how they keep trying to milk the series,it's gone from being respected to becoming a dead horse.

One movie i'll avoid is Village of the damned my two favorite actors died in that movie (well not in real life anyway.). Christopher Reeve's character giving up his life to stop the alien children, and Mark Hammil's preist character being killed off. Mark will always be Luke Skywalker to me even if his death was off screen I couldn't bear to watch it again.

From what I've seen of the movie - clips etc - I think it has a good chance at being a good remake. And yes, MBV 3D was good - nice and campy. People in my theater were shouting 'don't go in there' it was great.

Yeah it was definitely great! I think the 3D might have added to the campiness but I thought it was awesome! I would be willing to see a sequel if they make one!

I'm an fan of both old franchises I enjoyed the remake of Halloween, and trust the sequel will be different from the 1981 version. Can't wait until Friday the 13th remake comes out,I wonder if a prequel will happen depending on how the Mrs Voorhees flashbacks are done.

I did not know Halloween 5 was your least favorite. For me Resurrection was terrible. It was way too trendy with all the internet tech, and Michael killed his sister in the first ten minutes of the movie, along with the plot. and Halloween 3 was wacked out of its mind. Melting masks with bugs coming out?

The Producer Cuts for H6 and H20 blow the T-Cuts out of the water. I have them on vhs and only got them via online friends years ago.

As far as the old franchise is concerned Michael died in H20. Not only is Resurrection horrible but because of it I have no respect. For the late Mr. Akkad I admit I wouldn't wish his tragic death on anyone. But back in 2001 when the script was leaked on the internet. The fans made their disappointment clear and Akkad still made the film anyway. This confirmed he didn't care about & respect the fans.

My issue with H6 is the horrible ending. And not bringing back Danielle just because she asked for 5?000. H20 because of the Scream music.

Yeah the H6 Producers cut was awesome! Definately better than the Theatrical cut. I never even knew there was a P-cut for H2O though. But yeah Resurrection was just terrible, and as much as i love the Halloween movies, that is one that i will never spend money to own.

I liked Resurrection because of Michael and how creepy he looked and the funny scenes.

yeah My Bloody Valentine 3D was a very cool movie! I have already seen it twice! I also watched the original 1981 version last week, also pretty fun, cheesy, but fun. Anyway speaking of 3D, who is excited about the release of Friday the 13th part 3 in 3D format on DVD this week? I definitely need to pick up a copy!

This is news to me though I already have Part 3 ON dvd with the rest of the Paramount versions before JGTH. Unless they fixed it where you can actually see the 3D on your tv,and include the glasses. Then there's really no reason to get the dvd,i'm personally looking forward to the His Name Was Jason doc dvd this month. I too can't wait to see Jared on the big screen in Friday the 13th Derek Mears is gonna rock big time.

yeah this week they are releasing "His Name Was Jason" which is first on my list to buy. Along with that they are releasing the original 1980 Friday the 13th Uncut Deluxe Edition on both DVD and Blu Ray! as well as a Deluxe Edition of Friday the 13th Part 2, and Friday the 13th Part 3. Friday the 13th Part 3 is supposed to come with four pairs of 3D glasses for the 3D version. It also has the regular 2D version on it too. However there are no additional special features on the Friday the 13th Part 3 Deluxe Edition, but oh well the fact that it has the 3D version is good enough for me! Note that Friday 2 and 3 are just DVD only and not Blu Ray yet. There are also supposed to be Deluxe Edition DVDs of Parts 4,5,and 6 in June as well!

Nope, no requirements needed! :)
Just the 3D glasses! as far as i know any TV set should be okay for the 3D. I have that Nightmare on Elm Street DVD collection box set, and the ending of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare is in 3D. The set came with 2 pairs of glasses as well. Now the 3D on that movie wasn't really spectacular or anything but the fact that they tag the 3D version onto the set is awesome in itself! Hopefully the 3D in Friday the 13th Part 3 is good though!

eyes  j/k but no requirments really. best if if turn your lights off so the lights dont interfer with the light of the tv causeing glare and the bigger the tv the better. just make sure your right infront of the tv and not too angled. just adjust yourself and distance till it looks good but dont expect it too be really awesome like in the movie theater.

i never understood the whole worm thing. they were like freaky beetlejuice sandworms. was freddy related to beetlejuice or something lol. im assuming they were the worms from hell but they didnt explain it well lol. just guess it adds to the creep factor. the 3d in the movie was pretty much floating worms and his exploding head. dont think anything else poped out lol. or those are the only things i remember since i was maybe 9ish or something when it came out.

never saw the original but im guessing the remake is better since the original nevered seemed to have been talked about lol.

ya usually atleast one person lives and might come back. but the original the girl who lived got attacked by like teenage jason in the water. im just glad this movie is basically making jason the way he was in the first 3 movies where his mother seems to be involved in this but wont be the killer and we actually get jason in the bag and then in the mask so it seems to connect how jason turned the way he was and stuff so that should be cool.

the original the first time i saw it im like damn this is stupid the old lady is the killer and i wanted to see jason and the only friday the 13th i own is the 5th the new begining one and im watching and was like ok theres jason and then it turns out to be a copycat and was the dad of the like mentally challenged kid or something. im like ohhhhhh come on give me a break. then you have jason x and thats just plan old silly its like robojason. and jason takes manhatten they are like hummmmmm how do we deal with jason i know lets stick him in the ghetto and have him kil hookers and junkies lol. all the other 13th movies i have seen bits and parts and never all the way thru for whatever reasons.

loved freddy vs jason cause it was like old school jason and old school freddy although made freddy only got one kill and it was kind of lame. jason got all the awesome kills. and im a freddy fan. lol. but jason is second best.

ya im surprised they even got a second friday the 13th. guess in the 70s it didnt take much to make a good movie lol. you think of the killer you think of jason not his mom. maybe they will have the mom be somewhat of a killer in this one like at the begining. and have her kill in the first 10 minutes and then go where she gets killed and jason is awekened and seeks his revenge. cause wasnt the reason jason killed so many people is because of his mom getting killed in the first one? think he wanted revenge for his mothers death not his own.

I'm not surprised to hear about a sequel before the new original hits theaters next friday. It must be not simply because it's assumed it be a big hit like Zombie's Halloween. But because of the strong positive reaction to the test screening awhile back.Which also caused the moving forward with the Nightmare remake.

Also for any Jason fan I strongly recommend getting His Name was Jason Documentary. 1. It's cheap around 16 bucks after taxes. 2. It's got loads of features on the two disc dvd (got my copy today). and 3. You get a 5 dollars off ticket for Friday the 13th when it hits theaters. So when I do have the time to see the film in theaters. It'll only cost me around a buck fifty because the regular price now is 6.00 or 6.50.

Also if you don't have a copy of Crystal Lake Memories I strongly advise you get a copy.It cost me 40 or 50 bucks last year, but i've learned so much from it.It's literally stacks of interviews from people involved with the franchise since the beginning. Dating from Sean Cunningham starting out with the original,to Freddy vs Jason it's worth every cent. And i'll definately be reading this book many times as the years roll by in the future.

im still mad robert wont be in the new nightmare movie just wont be freddy to me and im sure anyone who grew up with the movies would feel the same. might be good and scarier and cooler but thats all effects and acting and not so much freddy which is sad. but guess i shouldnt judge it till i see it.

loved the halloween remake cause i was never a fan of the halloween movies. always thought michael was a bit lame but rob zombies version gave michael a good back story and made you get how crazy he truely was. although the begining with non stop cursing got on my nerves and i liked jamie lee curtis character better since she was a good girl and the new one wasnt so much someone you want saved.

i liked the chainsaw massacre remake too but the first was scarier plus the first you care more about the characters and want them to live. the remake all it was were stoners and drunks and getting killed cause they are stupid. but still a good remake.

the childs play remake cant wait for since its basiclly the same writers directors and actors doing the movie and its the same movie just more violent and scarier like they wanted to make it in the 80s but couldnt cause of regulations. they are making the version they always wanted to make so thats good and brings it back to scary then hahaha this is so corny lol.

its weird to remember a time buying vhs tapes lol. i still have all my vhs tapes but weird thinking about going into a store and buying one lol. when dvds first came out i wanted a dvd player so bad. i thought it was awesome how you didnt have to rewind anything and you get really cool menu screens and bonus features and stuff. its nice to get some older movies on dvd.

ive never actually seen any alien movies just AVP and AVPR. i seen the 2 predator movies tho. i really want to see alien(s) but never got around to watching them. i heard they want to remake predator. ok i think remakes could be pretty cool but remaking every movie ever made is a bit pointless. people are running out of ideas. i say make sequals that are god but not a remake lol. even prequals are ok.

wow FVJ was your first R rated movie in theaters? mine i think was terminator 2. with freddys dead being the second.

Yeah my parents were not really big on letting me see R rated movies in theaters. Actually I never really got many chances to go to the movies during the '90's. We would just rent movies on video Lol. But yeah Terminator 2 came out in 1991 so I was only 2 years old then. I did see it on TV when i was 5 though:lol: And Critters was my all time favorite creature film series when I was younger! I remember there was a time when they would show Critters movies all the time on TV! Critters 2 was the first one I saw. What sucks is they are hard to find on DVD. I own the first one but have not been able to find the sequels. When I younger I even went to pawn shops to see if they had them on Video tape, which proved unsuccessful:lol:

ya 1991 i was 9 or 10 depending onthe month. did freddys dead come out before or after that maybe it was 92 but think it was earlier :\

ya critters was great and was always afriad to stick my feet on the ground or they would attck me under the bed lol. you might be able to get them at best buy or something. or maybe wal mart in the 5 dollar bins lol. i wish they would make a critters box set. id love to get that. critters was like a kids horror movie i think.

also remember watching bit and peices of friday the 13th and nightmare on elm street and childs play and stuff on tv. but tv edits stuff. i always find it funny seeing chucky be all tough and be like ill kill your fudging rearend you piece and sugar. fudge you airhead lol. so funny lol.

also loved really old horror like the alligator in the sewer and something with killer mutant rabbits and the original black and white little shop of horrors. and loved that movie christine with the killer car.

Freddy's Dead came out in 1991 also. Im not sure if it was before or after T2 though.

I wish they would make a Critters box set too. or better yet special edition DVDs! I love all the Critters movies, except Critters 4 was my least favorite. 1 and 3 are my favorites though!

Friday the 13th was the first horror film I ever saw! I remember there was a Friday the 13th marathon back in 1993 or maybe 94. I watched Friday the 13th part 1, 2, and 3 with my older sister, it was awesome!

oh yeah I forgot about Alligator, never saw the whole thing though lol

ya i wish the critters would air on tv more. hate that a lot of times they are put on dvd and the dvds have no features or anything :\

thats cool. one thing about being a kid is you watch these movies when your parents say no and it will give you nightmares but you never get nightmares from those you tend to get nightmares from seseame street and stuff. atleast thats the way i was im fine with horror but id have nightmares about the wuzles or star wars and stuff lol.

it was only a 3 minute thingand one minute was the normal trialer but the actors talked about how this movie pretty much has all the great things from all the F13 movies. so it could make sense that mrs vorhees is still alive and forces jason to kill those who caused him to drown. and im guessing she might die at the end which causes for the sequal for jason to keep killing. its kind of like FvsJ when freddy pretended to be the mm to wake jason up and do her bidding. i think it would be cool if mrs vorhees like found jason dead and did something and raised him as a wild child. who knows but it sounds like it could be a good story line. they had a clip where jared was talking to this old lady. just really quick but her voice sounded like the voiceover we always hear about it being jasons birthday.

Dude the more you tell me, the more excited I am getting about this movie! Hopefully this is a real good Friday the 13th movie, like how they used to be cuz there has not been a really good F13 movie for a long time.

Lets go back in time a bit Lol

2003: Freddy VS. Jason. A decent movie, but since its a crossover film I dont consider it a stand alone F13 film.

2002: Jason X. I can't believe they even made this movie. Its terrible! Filmmakers need to get it in their head that when you take a horror franchise to space it just ends up way too cheesy and out of this world. Pardon the pun hehehhe

1993: Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. I only saw this one once and i just did not like it. jason's soul is body hopping? Strange. I think one reason why I could not take this one seriously is because the music in the movie was terrible, cheesy, and not scary or creepy.

1989: Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan. Better than the films that came after it, but the thing that sucks about this movie is that they don't go to Manhattan till the last fifteen minutes or so of the film.

superhippie2000
02-10-2009, 03:47 PM
ya it seems like its going to be old school horror. i mean of course its going to be updated but im sure the look and feel will be the same. id only watch for the killer the people getting killed dont care much about. you never see a horror movie where anyone is great at acting lol. its usually all cheesey and like oh god these people are stupid let them die. the best people in the movie are the killers. they have to make the killer cool. you dont like how the killer is being used your not going to like the movie.

ya FvsJ is a crossover film so understand how you wont count it as part of the F13 or Nightmare franchise. its just a mix. i did enjoy it tho. freddy and jason were old school freddy and jason. there were exactly the way they should be.

jason x was just bad. i dont get why jason needed to be frozen and stuff to begin with and why he was still alive a million years later yet the people were just as stupid. the special effects were cool but the plotline was just lame. and then jason becoming like terminator jason was like come on seriously. jason is supposed to be like an immortal human dont make him a robot. although the robot look was cool. but the plot was stupid lol.

jason goes to hell i slightly remember. wasnt it about his cousin or something and some old house where the pit off hell was under it or something. cant remember. ya the soul hopping is like bleh. they should just keep the killer the killer. no copycats and no no costumed versions or anything. one thing i like about freddy is there cant be a cpycat how can someone prtend to kill people in their dreams? i think FvsJ jason was ment to be a copycat to a point but freddy made him do it.

didnt jason take manhatten like spend most of the time on the boat? cant really remember but how is crystal lake connected to anything that would connect to NY? lol. its a lake you cant have a big party boat on a lake and get to an ocean and all that. :\

oh another thing jared said this is the type of movie you wouldnt want to go to summer camp for like a month lol. i hope we get some awesome kills. they said they were thinking of some ways to have jason kill people. they had a prop head so looks like someone might be decapitated. also in the trailer it looks like jason stabs a guy in the head with a spear gun arrow

red-K glory
02-10-2009, 05:47 PM
Ya I agree that killer totally has to be cool! Jason and Michael Myers both rock!

Freddy VS. Jason was a very enjoyable film. I consider it a stand alone film, kind of like its its own franchise, and will probably be the only one of its kind too!

The first time I saw Jason X, I thought it was kind of interesting, but then it seemed to go downhill very fast, and it seemed to have the feel of a Sci Fi Channel Original Movie, Lol.

Oh yeah I forgot Jason's cousin was in JGTH! I remember that only a member of the Voorhees family could have the power to destroy Jason or something like that. It was just an extremely strange movie.

Yeah Jason Takes Manhattan mostly takes place on a boat going to Manhattan cuz some graduating high school students are going as a grad party or something but the anchor snags Jasons body and a power line brings him back to life i think. In some ways its actually a pretty fun movie, but it also feels kind of like a cop out cuz the title is Jason Takes Manhattan when it should have been something like "Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes a Boat Ride". Lol

Yeah I heard they are trying to have a new spin on some of the kills in the new movie, and from the sounds of it, Jason will start killing at the very beginning of the movie!

superhippie2000
02-10-2009, 06:13 PM
ya did seem like a SFOM. :\

ya jason was attached to the anchor and think it was lightning but you might be right could of been a powerline lol. ya it should of been F13 Part 8: Jason Takes A Boat Ride :rotfl:then F13 part 9: Jason Catches the Big One lol.

ya think the opening will have a kill. should have a kill but its probably either a younger jason or we wont see and the first kill can be the mom. but cool we get to see him with the bag mask and the see how he gets the hockey mask and stuff. also wonder where he will get the machete and if he will have it the whole time or he wont get it till near the end.

ya not to sure just that electriticy hit the anchor and zapped him alive.

whoa. so is it supposed to be maybe like the end of the first movie and picks up from there or something? unless maybe the opening is really the end and the whole movie is a flashback :\ who knows guess we will see. knowing me id probably wait for the dvd but cant wait to read what everyone thinks of it.

this year has lots of friday the 13th usually we are lucky to have 1 a year :\ but ya thats cool how they want to release it like its a holiday movie. and this movie is the only one that makes sense to air other then halloween time. still dont get why halloween isnt released on halloween but thats cause SAW has that sport but still SAW could come out the week before and Halloween the halloween weekend. dont think fans would care and seriously they do it cause people might not afford to see 2 movies in one month but people who would see these movies are mostly fans of these movies and would see 2 movies in a month. horror movies never make huge amounts of money and dont think anyone expects them too. they are cheaply made and mostly just done for fans. dont think anyone who makes a slasher movie thinks they will win a golden globe or oscar lol. horror movies no matter who makes them tends to have really bad acting and just really silly but the killer is just awesome. think about texas chainsaw the original. great movie probably the best of all horror movies but the acting was really out there. like the dinner scene that girl screaming was just over the top and really corny lol. and texas chainsaw 2. now that was a bad movie. like really bad. first off leather face looked really odd and his brother how did he live his head was smushed by a trzactor trailer. ok he got a plate in his head but they doesnt take away the fact his brains were all smushed out lol. and they started living in an old amousment park or something? and dennis hopper and the chainsaw fights and the chainsaws were like 10 feet tall and just like who makes 10 foot tall chainsaws lol.

this year has lots of friday the 13th usually we are lucky to have 1 a year :\ but ya thats cool how they want to release it like its a holiday movie. and this movie is the only one that makes sense to air other then halloween time. still dont get why halloween isnt released on halloween but thats cause SAW has that sport but still SAW could come out the week before and Halloween the halloween weekend. dont think fans would care and seriously they do it cause people might not afford to see 2 movies in one month but people who would see these movies are mostly fans of these movies and would see 2 movies in a month. horror movies never make huge amounts of money and dont think anyone expects them too. they are cheaply made and mostly just done for fans. dont think anyone who makes a slasher movie thinks they will win a golden globe or oscar lol. horror movies no matter who makes them tends to have really bad acting and just really silly but the killer is just awesome. think about texas chainsaw the original. great movie probably the best of all horror movies but the acting was really out there. like the dinner scene that girl screaming was just over the top and really corny lol. and texas chainsaw 2. now that was a bad movie. like really bad. first off leather face looked really odd and his brother how did he live his head was smushed by a trzactor trailer. ok he got a plate in his head but they doesnt take away the fact his brains were all smushed out lol. and they started living in an old amousment park or something? and dennis hopper and the chainsaw fights and the chainsaws were like 10 feet tall and just like who makes 10 foot tall chainsaws lol.

Dude I know! And TCM2 totally sucked! I HATED it! What kind of movie was that? Not a good one that's for sure!

Too bad there isn't going to be any marathon:\
