Is it just me or did this episode feel more like filler? I know that shouldn't be the feeling I come away with, and that objectively big stuff happened. Maybe its because there was too much of a gap between the episodes, but I was not surprised once by any revalations. I suppose that could also be because the biggest shock - Freakin people from the future! - was spoiled so heavily in trailers etc that everything that happened was a foregone conclusion before I even watched the episode:
People come from the future. They tell Clark about his future (but don't give away anything big - we've been hearing in jokes about capes and tights for 8 seasons now).
The legion and Clark find Brainiac and stop him, saving Chloe and the world.
The legion go home.
End of episode.
No revelations, no lasting changes. I was hoping that Chloe would not recover, but would remain as Brainiac for longer, forever changing Clarks life. But no. All back to normal.
So, filler episode?

I wouldnt say filler episode...er maybe I would since every episode basically moves clark forward at a snails pace for him to become superman. I mean how long does it take really?

As long the show keeps on. But this season he moved WAY faster than the previous 7 seasons.

I see FOTW as more filler like episodes.
and i think this episode wasn't a filler, it had purpose and alot was accomplished.

I already posted that this did seem in some respects like a fuller episode. But in did end the Brianiac inhabits Chloe story arc and moved along the DD story arc.
And hopefully it will once and for all help bring an end to Clana

No, this was the climax of the first half of the season arc for Chloiac. Not a filler.
Doomsday was let loose and pumped up remember.

not at all!! it was great "nutrition" for the series like a great bowl of veggies! a filler episode is something like "hero" or "subterranean" that could be something like trying to get nutrition out of a bag of cheetos.

How. Can you call Legion a filler?
Craving? Subbteranean? Ageless? Fierce? THIRST? SLEEPER?!!
Those. Are fillers.
Nope, not at all. Have you missed the major events that took place during this episode? The extraction of Brainiac? The beast from the future? The Legion and their warning? Doomsday unleashed?

I didn't even watch it but I wouldn't call it filler. I'm sure that it'll affect future episodes. If it felt slightly disconnected or to be a bit of a standalone, I'd chalk that up to having Erica, Aaron, Justin and Cassidy all absent. When you are missing over half of your regular cast, you're going to have episodes that feel somewhat disconnected from one another.

i dont think it was really a filler episode. it was more of the end of the briniac story arc and the begining of the doomsday arc. ya the doomsday arc started earlier but seems to me this is when the doomsday full on villian arc starts and not so much davis the good guy transforming.

Thats a good point. That combined with what felt like a HUGE gap between episodes is probably what made it feel so disconnected as you say.
A few people have mentioned Subbteranean as a filler, and I would totally agree. But however bad that episode is, it is totally redeemed by the amazing 20 seconds at the end where we really see Lex Luthor. There are plenty of scenes in most episodes where you can see Superman in Clarks words and actions (usually for me when he is giving speeches and bringing out the best in people), well that was one of the much fewer scenes where we really see the absolute classic depiction of the real Lex Luthor. If you don't know which scene I'm talking about, go back and rewatch just that bit.

I liked when Lois put on the kryptonite lipstick. Was that a filler episode?
Plastique was also pretty good this season.

It didn't feel like a filler to me. As others said, it ended the Chloiac arc and really kicked the Doomsday arc into high gear. It also gave us a lot of hints about Clark's future, and we had slight hints on Lana's storyline.
