View Full Version : Question about the future
Is superman supposed to still be around in the 31st century? Or was he just an icon by then?

Not a big comic book fan I reckon.
Superman is supposedly gone by the 31st century. HOWEVER, he was a major influence, helping people accept aliens into their world, setting the foundation for Legion of Superheroes (think of it as the JLA of the future) etc. He is an icon.
There is a story arc where Superboy gets transfered into the 31st century to help the LOS and he sees statues of himself and museums dedicated to him everywhere.

Not sure what they plan about specific Smallville continuiety (sp?), but in modern comic lore it pretty much established Kal-El is virtually immortal and will live way past the 89,000th century. However, it is said he left earth for a few millinia, which would include the Legion's time.
