Seriously o_o, I've been pleasantly surprised by this season in contrast to the last two seasons in which I stopped trying to "think" during the show and just enjoy it for what it is- but when they put Chloe on the table to kill her-

-I just-

How RANDOM was that?

I burst out laughing.

I mean, you have a telekinetic (mental overload causing a quick annyerism?), a guy who can control lightening (lethal charge of electricity?), and a guy who can control magnetism (Uh...Okay you got me there-) And out of nowhere "DAGGER!!!"

Oh, and just in case this is taken the wrong way, I have been enjoying the show and especially this episode (the writing was great and kinda/sorta cleared up some hangups I had regarding the last couple of seasons) and this isn't a bashing thread.

Did anyone else lol at unintentionally funny moments?

Yeah, people possessed by alien beings, using them as vessels, must always be killed by use of a dagger. Didn't you know that? lol

I love that you said this.....because I swear when I first saw the knife...I thought it was a butter knife!!!

they showed a complete lack of imagination... i mean are they really even more BDA's than Clark?

Imra hadn't even bothered to see if Chloe was still in there until Clark mentioned it. And why was Clark the only one to think of sucking the kryptonian computer out using magnetism... it was just ridiculously unintelligent

The dagger scene reminded me of Soapdish, that movie with Sally Field about a TV soap opera, when Elizabeth Shue's character needs an emergency brain transplant to be saved and the doctor (kevin Kline) clears the table of the restaurant and asks someone to sharpen a spoon and bring some ether to perform the surgery there.

Also, I don't understand why killing the host would destroy brainiac. He was able to regenerate before, sucking metals out of different beings, like he did when he infected that lab technician Lana treated at Isis. he could have left Chloe's dead body (in liquid form) and done the same thing he did in Persona until he was complete.

good point!

hadn't really given that much thought, but your right, why would killing Chloe kill Brainiac?

Yeah, I guess we just have to go along with it.

A very funny scene  Thanks for making this topic, a handful of super powered people.. and they need a knife to kill someone!

To be fair, I guess killing someone with a dagger always seems to come off as more "romantic" and Shakespearean, as opposed to let's say, Lightning Lad frying Chloe to death with electricity lol

Yeah, I skipped back on my Itunes to see if my computer froze at a crucial explanatory moment. But, no. They didn't fry her with electricity or any other logical ideas that you suggested- they laid her out to symbolize that yes, they are sacrificing her with full knowledge and malice implied therein.

Maybe it was to show that Lightning Lad was more fanboy hypocrite than hardcore believer?

you make a very good point...it was silly...but i still loved every legion scene.

Other than using a special crystal, isn't there a degree of truth to the lol you posted? When Zod used Lex as a vessel, didn't Lionel/Jor-el say that using a particular dagger on Lex was the only way to kill Zod?

Dagger is easier then frying Chloe to death with electricity...

And it smells better.

But, that dagger didn't look sharp at all. Maybe they were just going to tickle her with it before frying her with electricity? You know, put a smile on her face first...

Or perhaps they were just going to stab her in the neck and finish it.

Using superpowers in place of a human sacrifice ritual? That's WAY too easy.

Hopefulsuicide

perhaps they saw a silver lining in Chloe's death... sure it's sad, but if we perform it like a ritual sacrifice, then the kent farm's crops will be wonderful this year

That's a special type of dagger that ensures whatever is inside dies (this stops Brainiac taking someone else as a host). Only the comic book fans would of understood this, as the writer of this episode has written many Superman comics.

I feel so violated. Like sithius just shoved a big can of FYI in my ear.

But thanks, lol. That's actually really good to know.
