But by hardcore Legion/DC Comics fans who don't even like Smallville. I just visited a site about DC Comics, and I found a thread about Legion, and I'm not even kidding you, I didn't find one bad remark about this episode.
Great job, Geoff Johns. Great job. :D
May we all give him a huge round of applause!

Legionworld was a bit iffy. they didn't like the whole Kill Chloe angle since the legion has had a no killing clause since day one. Never has the legion-dickery gone so far as murder ;)

This just shows that Smallville is reaching out to other audiences.

That comes from having a writer (and a good one like Geoff Johns) write a story where they are very familiar with the characters and the stories behind them. Not taking anything away from the normal writers because they do a great job, especially this year, but you don't really expect them to be as knowledgeable about all of the little aspects of the DC World like you would somebody like Geoff Johns.

I hope they invite Geoff Johns back, or maybe another comic writer.

Gail Simone wrote an episode of JLU (when huntress/question and black canary/green arrow went on a double date) and appeared on the supergirl featurette on the Smallville Season 7 DVD. She's a pretty famous feminist comic writer. She helped coin the term 'women in refrigerators' for when a female character is maimed or killed to serve the male characters story. (like supergirl in the first crisis) more info here-http://www.unheardtaunts.com/wir/
She currently writes Wonder Woman and Secret Six, she has previously written Birds of Prey. I think if the Smallville writers are going to call anyone it should be her.

I've already said this on another thread but I never thought I would see a live action Legion like this.
I've been reading the many different versions of Legion of Super Heroes for over 30 years and...all I can say is....grife...it was good!

That's good to know, thanks for telling us! :)
Do you think you could PM the link?
It seems like some of the non-comic Smallville fans either didn't care for "Legion" or thought it was just average, so it makes sense that the comics fans do like it.

Maybe they got the no killing clause from Kal-el though.

They did get it from Clark's legacy (actually they say from Superboy and Supergirl) but that was right at the formation of the legion. It was the very first thing they thought of.

So how did the live-action debut of the Legion of Superheroes work for you? An instant classic? A promising jump into a world with an almost endless array of heroes and villains to draw from? A bold step for Clark on his journey to become the Man of Steel? And was I the only one who noticed that "Wall of Weird" was misspelled?
I say long live the Legion.

Interesting and nice to read something which points out flaws but in a nice way.
I noticed that weird was mispelled as well, lol.
Thanks for sharing.

I totally thought they should call Gail next too, and then scrolled down and saw your post.
Gail is so excellent. She's really got this great feel for making characters who are real and deal with issues well, but then she has this awesome sense of humor. I think the dialogue would be extra-snappy with Gail writing!j
Though, I have to say that Geoff did a great job of bringing the Legion to life. I have my issues with this episode, but the Legion made me extremely happy.

DC fans loved Geoff and Losh so of course they liked the episode and in this way it can be labeled a success, but for me it was a let down. I expected better.

Of course, comic book fans loved the episode. They saw those characters live for the first time. That episode was made for them first and foremost (and for Lana fans).
