Chloe going to star city to give Lois a break

I think the bigger question is: Why does Chloe come back without Jimmy? Why isn't Chloe staying in Star City until he gets better? I'm sure her boss will let her take the time off (uh... given that it's LANA), so what's her excuse of leaving her hurt husband in a different city with her cousin?

Lois can have any reason to stay in Star City, I guess. All of them = "SV is too cheap to pay for both KK and ED in the same episode".

All those great surgeons that Lex Luthor knew flew Metropolis when he disapeared. They knew there was another rich guy from Star City who has a lot of injured friends.

The answer is or probably will be:

Chloe is Jimmy's only family or loved one and since she was gone, Lois was there to be where Chloe would be if she had not been kidnapped.

Another example of the Smallville "WTF?" moments. For example, where was Martha Clark at Chloe's wedding? And Chloe's father? Don't you think he might have wanted to show up? His only daughter, getting married? And he wasn't in attendance? "WTF?" - again.

It seemed that Chloe had time after her braniac possession to bake two different kinds of giant cookies. She was just packing them for her trip to Star city when she was saying goodbye to Clark. So perhaps Lois will love those cookies so much that she will never want to leave.

My storyline guess is that the next three episodes have Chloe and Lois take shifts watching over Jimmy (and of course they always take place during Lois's shift) or Lois is sent on out-of-town assignments.

The actual reason is the showrunners are cheap and don't know where to spend their budget.

It's comic book canon that Lois Lane has a thing for monster truck rallies since her father used to take her to them when she was a young girl. There's even a recent comic where she drags Clark to a monster truck rally. It may be a little strange, but I think it's kind of sweet.

I think its obvious Lois just wants some space....and I was thrilled to see Chloe packing up some cookies and being excited to get to Jimmy as soon as possible (she would have looked really bad just hanging around not even thinking about him)

I was wondering why Lois doesn't come back after Chloe shows up at the hospital. Maybe they will explain it, or Lois will just be MIA, or went to visit her dad on base for awhile to sort out her feelings. I would like to see Clo and Lo talk about what happened at the wedding and afterwards but that will probably be offscreensville.

I don't think it is. I'm surprized that he hasn't figured out yet what his feeings are for Lois yet. I know about the comic restrictions and all, but I mean it's Lois. After about two years (mid-way through Season 6 I'd say) of friendship, the wall of emotion and feelings that Lois had been breaking down will go right back up and she'll turn in Season 4 era Lois again when she sees Clark and he wouldn't know why. Mindreading is not one of his powers but I wish it was, as I love the comics and the old Lois and Clark show.
For example, I once dated a girl on and off for a few years, while at the same time I had a friend who liked me and I liked her only as a friend at the time. She would later tell me how she felt and although we only dated for a short while because we decided it would be too diffcult to be in a relationship after being friends for so long, I would have known how she felt unless she had been honest with me, which indeed she had been. The point is Lois and Clark need to talk about their feelings, but they most likely won't because it's a show and on a show like Smallville drama is a must have.
