i kind of feel like because smallville put so much emphasis on lana and clark loved her so deeply that i can never really accept clois its like she will always be his second choice they always make clana out to be the love to end all loves. I get lois loving clark but its like i can't see him loving someone else. someone convince me please
Thatīs difficult to do IMO. Weīve got Clana during 7 years and a half... I think the writters extended too much time. It should have ended up in season 5. And itīd have been nice to see Lori Lemaris when Clark went to University.
Personally, during those seven and a half years, I didnīt ever like Clana. And I didnīt expect to see Clois in Smallville (gladly I was wrong:)). In the meantime, I thought it was important seing Lois and Clark growing up and learning so to be prepared for being what itīs suppose they will be someday.
Maybe there was Clana during seven and a half years. But Clois is from now always and this is just the very beginning... I guess itīs always been Clois to me, if I had been a Clana fan, probably now Iīd have problems too.:o

To be honest my big issue with Clana is I never seen 2 people ever be more miserable when they are together that it's hard for me to take the relationship seriously. You might be able to milk a season or 2 out of it before the whole premise of angst just becomes beyond ridiculous. Having Clark be miserable in his last scene with Lana was sort of fitting, because that's how he seemed to be around her 90% of the time since S2.
I think the main problem in general with Clana besides the angst is for the entire 7 years it just felt like Clark was stuck in that 14 year old boy mode who was a peeping Tom with a telescope who liked Lana the ways 14 year olds have crushes, but the whole relationship never progressed beyond that point.
The way the producers decided to break them up did no favors for Clark as well, he came accross very immature. What exactly is the viewer supposed to think when 2 people just give up so easily and he moves on with his life.
In terms of Clois I have to see how it plays out, but if they can show Clark in a relationship where he generally seems happy, that to me will be light years compared to the angst filled relationship with Lana to prove to me that she a better option. Sadly in terms of Clana, other then the first season, moments of watching Clark and Lana be happy together were few and far between(and most of the time those happy moments couldn't last more then 1 episode before angst crept in yet again).

can we say two characters that have shown zero growth? Two characters that have learned nothing, have changed not at all, and who have never treated each other well, and have shown no signs of ever changing in their behaviour towards one another? The relationship never worked for a gzillion reasons, and none of those reasons have changed or gone away. It is an insult to the viewer to have to put up with this nonsense.
So true!

Like a yo-yo these two. I'll admit I've been a Clana fan for aslong as the show has started.... And while at it, I'll admit that their relationship was, as someone already mentioned... Lobsidded.
How many times do Clana need to rise from the ashes, only to burn down again? It's been drawn out for too long, and thats coming from me, a once upon-a-time diehard Clana fan. After she left at end of S07, I couldn't take it anymore. That was it for me. She up and left Clark, after EVERYTHING. Secrets disclosed and everything she leaves a nice Vmsg and goes her merry way
That would gut anyone, let alone CK. What I loved about S08 thus far is that it started converting me into a Clois fan. I like how they've been doing the little things that have been bringing them closer. Bringing Lana back has just stalled the show... The lingering looks, the hugs, the talks in the barn... We all know its to no avail. Lana has changed... Perhaps she really does love CK deep down... But it's time CK open his eyes, look back on everything that occured between them and smile that it happened, and finally focus on Lois Lane <3

^ Lana has always loved Clark, deep down inside. Clark and Lana deserved closure. A 7 year relationship deserved it and so did the fans that followed this couple. And I say too bad for the people who wanted to rush into Clark and Lois. Lois got 2-1/2 years more than she should have on SV's dime. If I had wanted any part of Lois (and trust me, I didn't), I would have picked up a comic book, watched a Superman movie or tracked down old episodes of Lois & Clark.
