I really have to say... as someone who has been with Smallville from the beginning, through the best and the worst seasons/episodes, i am ecstatic at the energy and level of storytelling that Season 8 has brought us. This is just an absolutely incredible season, and I am thankful that the powers that be are treating us as they have and taking it to the next level.

They pretty much held the show back. But now it just seems like its going all over the place..not in a good way.

What's up with the 2 month lull between episodes? Annoying....

They need time to film and edit new episodes.

As a whole, I really enjoy this season as well. It feels like a breath of fresh air after how dissapointing seasons 4-7 were. I never thought that this season would make me re-invest myself in the show so much. Still though as much as I am enjoying this season, I really hope that it is the last one. Giving us a S9 would really be delaying the inevitable. There is only so much you can say about Clark's life before he becomes Superman. I say that you end the series this season with a heroic send off that finally has him fly and gives us a preview of future events. Also, the timeline is out of whack as well. I mean we have a 23 year old Clark Kent who can't fly, yet he is working side by side with Lois Lane at the DP? How weird is it, that he started working at the DP before he could fly? Wasn't the norm in every other version always to have him fly by the time he was 18?
