after seeing a clip for the new season it said they were on the island for 108 days. 108 days and in the hatch the timer was on for 108 minutes. just an interesting connection. :)

They love to throw those numbers in everywhere, don't they? They haven't really touched on them in a while. First two seasons made such a big deal out of them, but three and four barely touched on the significance. Wonder if they'll make a comeback this season?

Damon said that the reason they left the numbers alone was because people started thinking it was part of a conspiracy and it was only supposed to be a coincidence, like how fellow cast aways started showing up in flashbacks. I remember back in Season 2 there was a big rumor that Dharma had put them on the plane. I think after that, the writers stayed away. I beleive it was their original idea (there's even Dharma logos on the plane itself)

Also, in case anyone didn't know 4 + 8 +15 +16+23+42=108.

i just cant wait and see whats going to happen next. hope we get some answers to any connections that have a reason. maybe smokey put them on the plane :\

I really don't think that the connections will be explained. The numbers are gone and so are flashback connections. I think it was just a cool thing to do until people started to beleive that it was important to the overall story.

Lol, I was acutally for awhile hoping they would, but they're ending it at 117, oh well.

well hey look at it like this 117. take away the second 1 and add that to the 7 which makes 8 then there is an empty space in the middle so its nothing 0 so its 108 :D
