my favorite era of smallville is the middle because season 3 was my favorite season and season 5 is my third favorite. Also they were still in high school for part of it which brings back some good feelings.

While I like s5, I chose the late era. I am just not a big fan of the HS yrs. Way too much teen angst.

Nothing beats the early innocent years of Smallville featuring a teenage Clark Kent as he attempts to conceal his powers from the public and at the same time, battle the evil meteor freaks. Rewatching reruns of those early seasons is like swimming in a sea of nostalgia.

It is hard to answer because I enjoy all the seasons except season 7 which was not so great. But in order to me it would be : middle, late, early. Which is partly right because I like so much season 8 !!!

Early. The first two seasons are what will make Smallville a classic television series. I've enjoyed the entire ride, but during those first two seasons you had a real network, a real budget, a new fresh story idea that had not been done before, a lot of buzz, excellent writing, and excellent veteran actors in the parental roles.

Seasons 1 -3 are the earlier ones.
Season 8 (now) - is completely different to everything else we've had.

Problem is, S3 has always been my favourite season. S8 is close to it, but to vote i guess i'd have to go for 'middle'

I remembered every detail and dialogue from those seasons. They lost me in season 3; it was just shameful what they did to Clark’s character after that, IMO

i remember so much more of early seasons too... probably because i watch them more...

but even during season 7, i had already forgotten most of early season 7... it was just that dull to me

I couldn't decide between the early era and the middle era because they are both really good. So i would say my favourite eras are seasons 1-5

Really difficult question. I love season 1, its so cute and brand-new (but, admittedly, Loisless). I love season 4 for the Lois, but hate it for the Witchy!Lana. I thought seasons 5-7 were blah. I'm loving season 8. So I can't vote because my loyalties are divided.

When Clark was mortal, and Lana had some sensibility left. I knew it wouldn't last, but it was my favorite part of the series. I loved the scene when they were playing on the hill. It was very poignant. What caring person would not want the best for that beautiful and loving couple?

I said late. I love how the show is coming into the superman story and the progression it has made. I also really liked the middle because that's what basically showed him discovering his destiny and such. Either way the show becoming more epic is what i like.

S1-S3; It was sweet. See how he came to earth. A young Clark Kent coped with new powers, learning he was from another planet, friends with his future nemesis, had a crush on the girl next door. writing for the school news paper...

S4-S7; Lois Lane enters, Kal-El flying, witch-Lana :rolleyes:, meteor shower #2, FOS, Brainiac, Lexana, Jonathan dies :(, Zod, phantom zone, GA, JL members, Martha leaves for Washington, Lana "dies", Bizarro, Lana returns, living on a farm, Veritas, "showdown" at FOS

S8+; Proactive Clark, working at the Daily Planet---with Lois :D, Doomsday....
