IMO this is pure stunt casting, It feels to me like the show is trying to bring in fans of Smallville to Heroes. Seriously did the show runners/casting department just say to themselves " hey lets get the guy who played the main villians dad on Smallville to play the dad of our shows main villian".

If this was just news that John Glover got a role on Heroes I would be happy, but the role he has been cast in just rubs me the wrong way:rolleyes:

BTW I am totally expecting to see John Glover character on Heroes written as Lionel Luthor but with a power.. but I guess we will see.

as much as the idea of seeing john glover in an MB role again wets my pants, i do agree with most of the comments.... it is completely and totally unorigional to cast the same actor for the villain's father in two similar shows, and stinks of fan manipulation

Yeah, it sounds like he was hired based on his time as Lionel Luthor and the fact that a lot of ex-Smallville peeps are now working for Heroes, but John Glover is a fantastic actor.

I'm guessing he'll be in scenes with Zachary Quinto? That should be amazing.

Do the spoilers say JG is playing mr. gray? I thought all we knew was that he was playing sylar's real father maybe sylar's dad and mrs petrelli had a kid (all we know for sure is that arthur isn't sylar's father do we know that angela isn't his mother we didn't see him ask her that once he got the truth ablilty and she should know) and gave it to the gray's instead of raising the kid themselves.

Wow..."this show hasn't excited me much lately, but this should be fun. I'm looking forward to seeing "Lionel" give another evil son a lecture. I'll be half expecting Rosenbaum to pop his head in and give his two cents. I haven't seen Glover in anything other than Smallville, so this is going to be bizarre. Especially when you think of the similarities between the two characters.

why are people assuming that john glover will be mr gray, sylars dad yes but surely it would be a massive coincidence if his real parents and adopted parents are called gray. its obvious mr gray the watchmaker was an ordinary guy by the way angela spoke of the grays just a watchmaker and a snowglobe collecter i think she called them. obviously by letting us know sylar is really the son of someone with power would make it meaningless to introduce mr gray anyway so john glover has to be shall we say pappa sylar since we have no name for him yet

John Glover is really missed on Smallville, his acting was stand out! Best on the show in my opinion.

His influence on Heroes can only be positive, I can't wait.

Ireally hope he is on the show for a decent amount of time. He was great on Smallville. Great on Law & Order. Great on Numbers. The guy can act. I hope he has a freaking kickass power. Maybe he has Sylar's ability and he is the one who teaches him how to control the hunger? I mean personally, I think Sylar will just figure that out on his own, but it's a possibility. I dunno. Whatever they do, they'll have a hard time screwing up John Glover.

John Glover is not going to be acting exactly like Lionel in this episode. He was not type cast. Have you seen him on NUMB3RS? What about Law & Order? He is a good actor and very versatile. He will bring a great performance to Heroes. I'm very excited to see his character.

By looking at photo 4/8 and 6/8 on hereosite.net it seems that Sylar's Dad atleast has telekenisis as a power.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Sylar's dad has multiple powers

I think Sylar's Dad has a disease of some kind that is hereditary and Sylar will find out that he has it also and will end up sick and old like his dad when he gets older---Just a idea I have from a spoiler that I read that said Sylar won't like the path he sees ahead of him when he meets his father.

That would be interesting if his dad is dying from too many powers and was never able to get a healing ability like Claire's or Adam's. Maybe the dad will try and take it from Sylar to survive and Sylar kills him in self defense.
