when peter first took sylars power i thought it was going to have great significance later on in the show its later on and he's never talked about it or anything I thought that's how we would've gotten his powers back or something

Litle bit more bizarre

I think it was interesting only to make Peter villain for few moments

It was to further Sylars storyline to humanize him.

However because Peter took Sylars ability and changed the past he has now put him on a path of pure evil instead of cookie baking.

What Yoshua said. It was just to show how Sylar isn't really "evil", and that the hunger can turn even someone as good as Peter into the next Sylar.

The writers and Sylar share a psychopathic heritage.

They're collective Bipolar. Psychos.
