So that storyline was a lie after all. I was hoping I would hear Nathan reaction reaction after finding out Sylar was his brother. Would have also like to see Claire face when she seen that he was her uncle. I actually belived he was his thier son. Aruthor should have killed that dude.
No, only that Arthur was his dad was a lie. He didn't ask about Ma Petrelli or if Nathan/Peter were his brothers. To me there is still a chance that Sylar can be related to Peter - maybe just not having Arthur as a dad. I mean Peter and Sylar look similar whereas Nathan doesn't look similar.

Well, he asked if Arthur was his father and that was a lie.
Perhaps Angela was not lying and he is her son but not Arthur's...
EDIT: You beat me to it^^^ lol

Who's Sylar and Peters dad then?
Who's Sylar and Peters dad then?
Someone we haven't seen? Be funny if it was Adam because then they'd be related....hehe even though they look nothing like him......
Although Hiro's dad and Angela had some sparks - even though Sylar/Peter don't look like him either. Maybe they're test tube babies?

It would be wired being Adam son considering he had two kids in the 1700's. Just imaging having a brother that's over 200 years older then you.
I wonder if Adam's kids live a long time too or if it was just him? I know his blood had everlasting qualities but it was never really explained if those just applied to him. I was thinking the only applied to Arthur.

His kids porbably had powers just not the same powers.
Powers aren't genetic. After all, Nathan had to be given powers.
And so did Claire.
And who knows who else was just given powers?

Angela did say she and Hiro's father were "close" years ago.

I'm pretty sure that Angela "got around" quite a bit. Sylar could still be Angela's son. It would be great if it turned out that she had an affair with Linderman and Sylar is his son.
"CAKE!"
I had another thread devoted to this, but I think it got deleted...
I'm quite certain that Sylar and Peter are not really related. And that that Linderman idea would cut away from the central plot... something that Heroes writers seem overly guilty of.
The writers seemed to quick to forget season 2, which was what upset me. They killed off Nicki, destroyed the Micah storyline, and pretty much got rid of every character they introduced in season 2, (except Mia, and you could say Adam Monroe as well, although his death was too sudden to really be considered "bringing him back.")
But then, they fired the writers who wrote the beginning of season 3, and it seems to me that they're just attempting to undo what the writers at the beginning of season 3 did. Which would, again, be a major detraction.
I, as a fan, couldn't stand it if Heroes changed much more. I mean, they killed off so many characters... and then completely changed Mohinder Suresh, whose main function was as narrator.
Anyway, I don't think Sylar is Peter's brother because I think it was almost implied that they're not related after all. It seems to me like it's just an abrupt contradiction and attempt for redemption on the part of the writing staff. If this is so, they should probably hold to their guns. Don't you think?

since when did it say claire was given powers i know nathan was given them but claire survived the fire before she was given the catalyst her abilities were a result of 2 parents with abilities she has pure abilities where we already know nathans are synthetic. the catalyst wasnt no extra abilities it was just the life light of hiros mam by the looks of it. and how arent the powers genetic either explain adam in fuedal japan suppose he had a formula too we only know of 2 times the formula was used well 3 now with the soldier but theres only nathan and the triplets nikki/tracy/barbara who have ability from the formula that we are told so far
Litle bit more bizarre

I expected that they lie but why Arthur keeps him he could take his powers from him when he had a chance but now I hope that Angela is his mother or all is lost

last night after watching the show i started wondering the same things people are wondering here. ok so arthur might not be sylar's dad, but that doesn't mean angela isn't his mom. she just might be his mom. but i don't think it's hiro's dad. what about linderman? or someone we just haven't met yet. what if only nathan is arthur's only son and peter and sylar have the same dad, someone else. what if peter and sylar are twins. naw that couldn't be, isn't sylar older or something? i was viewing the season 1 dvd and on the commentaries it's mentioned that one of the first ideas was to have peter's character be twins. so there would have been two of them. why are these characters reminding me so much of the xmen summer's brothers. you got cyclops, havok and the mystery brother/sister that's somewhere out there.

I don't get it either.
Sylar has Peter's empathy power. We saw him take Elle's power without killing her.
There must be some relation or connection with him and Peter.

Maybe Issack dad was Sylar dad. He dose kind of look like he could be Issack brother. Author, peter and Sylar powers were so simular it seem like he really fit as his son. Wonder what kind of powers his real daddy has. Who knows Arthor brother could be Sylar dad.

i think by now we all know that john glover (lional luthor from smallville) will be coming onto the show as sylar's real dad. i'm just wondering what powers he might have. if he has any.
