View Full Version : Oliver/Lana scene - don't tell me u didn't find anything WEIRD about it?!?!

Lana: Oliver QUEEN?
Oliver: Lana?

Usually when u meet someone for the very first time in your life, u don't just call her LANA You'd call her "Lana LANG". Lana LANG! And then Lana finds out Ollie is GA, big deal!

Anyways, that's how I feel, it's weird for Ollie to call her Lana without the Lang

Am I making a big deal out of it...umm...how about this, will anyone dare to start the "Olana" rumor??!?!?!:rotfl::rolleyes:

I actually started a thread on the Characters ship forum. I thought they had an interesting chemistry, totally unexpected.

I want more Olana scenes *non romantic though*, just them kicking butt

Alexander, its not the first time they met. Oliver had a couple of scenes with Lexana in S6. Never with just Lana though, but they did adress each other

I liked their scenes together, I also saw something. The dialogue was pretty punchy, I liked the exchange.

See I thought that was the first time that Lana/Oliver...Kristin/Justin had any on screen time together...I thought I was going crazy.

I liked it, it was different...great to see characters who have never been one on one go one on one! :)

Oliver met Lana in season 6 ''Reunion''. Its not the first time in his life that he met her.

As for a romantic couple. No thanks. Lana being in a relationship is so unoriginal.

Smallville has kind of always used Clark and Lana as parallels to each other. In season four, Lana dated Jason meanwhile Clark dated Alicia. It would be interesting if now the paralells involving Clark and Lana are reversed to parallel Clark and Lois.

Did you notice how Lois shared a friendship/confidant scene with Oliver similar to the one Clark shared with Lana? I thought it was cool.

I did catch a bit of chemistry between the two.

However, Lana only has four episodes remaining, so I don't think there is time. I think her remaining time should be spent establishing her friendship with Clark, especially since Kristin has made it clear she doesn't want to return.

They have something in common, they were both lying and hiding things from Clark while saying that they should be more like him. Yeah, they make a great couple, both unscrupulous.

They were seen together in "Reunion", but their first meeting was in "Wither," when he was dressed as Robin Hood and she was dressed as Cleopatra. She probably would've made a bigger impression on him the first time, for a few reasons...

It was weird. 'Lana' implies that he knew her well - and Oliver's ways of knowing women make my eyebrows rise in relation to Lana. Lana lectured Oliver about trying to kill Lex- when she tried to kill him herself. Hypocritical.

At least she tried to establish that they should both act like a benevolent hero. However, Ollie really needs a better costume. that hood isn't fooling anyone. How about a hood to break up the profile and a ski mask to, oh I don't know- hide your face!

If Ollie's costume is that easy to see through, Lex could have had Ollie arrested for Attempted murder and B&E if this show followed reality in the slightest. I wouldn't be surprised if Tess has him arrested one day for being a Big Dumb Hero.

Lana didn't just scold him for trying to kill Lex. She said, "You're Green Arrow. You're better than that." Sometimes people have higher expectations for others than they do for themselves.

By the way, no one's ever seen through Oliver's costume.

I enjoyed the bit of interaction- chemistry but tension between Lana & Ollie/GA. They have to show more interaction between the two characters it could be loop into an interesting storyline.

They would have been an excellent couple. If it weren't for comics continuity, I have no doubt the writers would have paired them up.

By the way, no one's ever seen through Oliver's costume.

She commented on him shooting right through the mannequin's head. I took that as being hypocritical considering her La femme Nakita stint. And if no one has seen through his costume- he was wearing it when Lana said 'Oliver Queen'. Now, he did out himself - I'm more or less worrying about situations if he got knocked unconscious and couldn't keep his hood up. I know, a conversation for another thread. Sorry for the side track.

Hopefully, they don't pair these two up- I'd like to see Lana have a real role besides 'girlfriend'. Bride has certainly proven that she can carry it.

Just Another Guy
11-25-2008, 06:11 AM
What makes it hypocritical? Because she went there herself? We don't know what her intentions were. And my point remains the same. She specifically said, "You're better than that." Often, that implies that the speaker does not necessarily think as highly of themselves.

I like the idea of lana and oli. I don't think we even need to see it happen, just see them together and we'll all fill in the rest.

I assumed they had had off screen interaction in the time since she left. It makes sense that they would, they both know Clarks secret, they both try to protect him, they both hate lex. Thus the familiarity between the two.

About the above talking about lana seeing oliver through his costume, he removed his hood and glasses and all. Its like the same as if superman fought crime in a suit with a clark kent name tag. And anyways the olana should be interested, lana is obviously decieving him... text: did the archer believe you? How will Ollie like this deception? And yah the your better than that is cuz green arrow, renowned super hero... she sees him try to murder someone just like the ppl he stops. thus she tells him off.

Every time I watch that scene it turns out even more weird. Both lana and Ollie are there for their own shady reasons. Ollie wants to kill Lex because of what Lionel did to his parents  and Lana claims to be there for Clark. What was she going to do if Lex or his goons had still been there? Kill them? take them to the police? dismantle the facility and confiscate the hardware so she can continue to investigate Lex's doings? And then they both start talking about being more like Clark and what would Clark do, blah, blah, blah, when Clark would be the first one to disapprove what they're doing. Weird.

Olana is like oil & water. First off, like it's been said before, Ollie can do 110 x better. I always saw Lana as a very unstable character (she goes through more personality flips than someone with MPD) I have a hard enough time seeing them "collaborate" but whatever.
