He should of threw that into the sun along time ago, I thought that was the worst crap ever. I have wanted lana to die for a while now but I was glad she was there to get rid of the rock.

Why does Clark still have kryptonite in his desk?
Safety for bystanders. There have been enough times where Clark has been out of control (red K, possession of his body by Lionel, under the influence of hypnosis, mind-whammied by Jor-El) that he feels the need to have the Green K laying around so that his friends and family in the know could take him down if they ever needed to.
Or else it was just a plot device to delay the big Superman - Doomsday smackdown until the end of the season.
(Which do you think?)

He probably keeps that piece of "Green K" in his desk as a precaution. It could serve two useful purposes (aside from the obvious):
1) He could use it to weaken another Kryptonian, if the situation called for it.
2) If he ever became evil again, one of his friends could use it to rid his body of the infection. Martha did this near the end of "Crimson".
Because he is a BDA duh!:p Yeah I also agree because of precautions.

Yeah those are good reason's to keep it around, but I think your right about it being the plot device to delay the fight.

On occasion, he uses it as a paperweight, from afar.

Did anyone else notice how long the neck is at the end maybe that is brainiac 5 watching from the future and that explains the next episode.

you guys remember he's kept K in the barn for many many years now!? in case someone (Jonathan or matrtha) needed to put him down fast. Remember how fast it worked for in Crimson?!
Or in s5 (splinter), Chloe mentioned the K he keeps in the barn. It should've helped her then...
but stupidly, that K didn't stop Clark from speeding out of the room, when tonight, when the K wasn't that much closer, it turned him onto a baby?

I'm sure he only kept it in so if he went out of control, they could stop him with GK.

Totally agree with you on this part. I thought the scene with Cloe opening the lead box containing the Kryptonite and Clark not anticipating this and walking right in. Awesome!
Could also be a reminder to Clark that he is not totally invulnerable.

Or a reminder that he no longer has his ally in tow.

i was very disappointed by k-rock cause i was so so looking forward to a big fight.
i felt very unfullfilled I was expecting a massive doomsday/clark fight.
boring after the first commercial in my opinion.

You have to think he did get punch by Doomsday. Getting punch by Doomsday and landing near green K is not a good combination.

It really doesn't make sense keeping there only impedes him, he needs to give to Ollie or John in case he does wig out they can hit him with him and won't have a repeat of bad storming the castle and Clark not being able to save the day.

They haven't showed that kryptonite in the barn for a while I thought it was already gone.
It just happened to show up in this episode, clark could of put it in a safe in the house and told the people who needed to know it to stop him if he goes nutzo.
Does anyone remember the last episode he took that kryptonite out was it back when bizzaro was still around.

They have kept green K around the Kent farm for quite awhile. Remember when Martha used it for herself when infected by a Brainiac disease. Martha used it on Clark when he was out of control. It can backfire also as when Chloe used it on Clark when under the influence of her mother. Having green K around can be good or bad. Yep, Chloe made a big mistake when she didn't put the green K back in Clark's desk since Clark couldn't prevent her from being kidnapped by Doomsday. Of course, I don't know if Clark could have stopped DD anyway with the way he was thrown up to the loft. Having green K in the barn is like having a gun. You don't plan on using it on yourself but it is for safety reasons.

Yeah, I agree, but they can't fight in front of the guests. Clark would get mono from all the kissing he's have to do later. Maybe when the show comes back...Or not because that would require budget. Just for the record, I'd be OK with a sock puppets super- battle, just so we got a super-battle.
