Yes, Lana's parents, Louis and Laura Lang, were killed in the meteor shower, but it turns out that they split for a while, even filed for divorse. While they were separated, Laura hooked up with Henry Small and they conceived Lana. How Laura explains that to Louis, I'm not sure. But Lana is raised to believe that Louis is her father until she stumbles on the truth. This was one of the subplots of season 2.

I was actually wondering the same thing myself. You would think that Chloe's father would want to walk her down the isle. I am also wondering why they haven't addressed Pete being at the wedding. I think it would be cool for him to come back as well.

In season 2 there was a plot where Henry Small was introduced (he was said to be a descendent of the man who founded Smallville, hence his name) and was revealed to be Lana's real father after Lana found a photo of her mother with some other man before she was born.

When Clark found Chloe at the safe house (I vaguely remember what went down -- wasn't Lex there too?) she left with him and never told Gabe. Gabe has been living there this whole time with a Lex-made Chloe clone.

They contrived that whole stupid Jimmy's real parents story just to explain why they were not paying extras to appear in Smallville as his parents, but no mention whatsoever of Gabe Sullivan. Bizarre!!

Obviously we know the show can't bring back all these various guest stars. But look at some of the no-shows at this wedding, aside from Jimmy and Chloe's family....

Martha Kent, the only member of Congress who never returns home. Pete, close friend to Chloe. Probably didn't want to see her marry another guy and Chloe probably didn't invite him. Obviously Gabe Sullivan being wiped from existence and you have a wedding at the Kent Farm and Shelby is nowhere to be seen? Not buying it. ;)

At least Nell (was that her name? I didn't watch the early episodes) showed up for Lana's wedding and was even mentioned the next week.

We did get a reference to The General this week, who was also not at the wedding. I can see him not coming though...he doesn't seem the type. Obviously Lucy Lane too since she's another cousin of Chloe. ;)

I can take Pete not being there, I can even take Martha not being there but Gabe not being there?! Or at least a mention of why he would not be there to walk his daughter down the aisle!?

grrrrr. I realize that they have pretty much axed the parents from this show but this time it just honestly does not make sense.

And here I thought PS3 was doing a much better job of continuity than AlandMiles....
