Hands down yes for me. U?

LOIS:
"It's like I was going along and it just snuck up on me. Then I tried to ignore it and there are these moments were I can't. Maybe I was reading it wrong. And to add insult to injury it all went down at tonight's tribute to romantic bliss. I know it sounds sappy, but I thought, just for a minute...someone needed me."

Green Arrow:
Well I'm sure he needs you Lois.

LOIS:
Well, that's sweet of you to say. But, how do you know?

Green Arrow:
Because I know Clark

I think she just changed the hearts of america.

It sure as heck was up there.

I know for sure that both Erica and Lois brought their A-games to tonight's episode. Erica played her beautifully. She was heart broken, in love, sweet, snappy, and just plain awesome. I don't see how you couldn't like her after tonight's episode.

I really liked how vulnerable she was in the Ollie scene, though. She was great. :D

Hands down the best!
I usually love the sarcastic Lois...but seeing her so vulnerable, but yet some how very "Lois-esque" was amazing.

She almost made me cry, it's obvious she wants to come first for once...and Lana walking back in was a sucker punch to her gutt.

ED was just amazing. :)

its up there but my fav was the last interaction that lois and clark had, so much emotions when lois turned and looked at clark then walked away. wow.

I thought the scene when they were about to kiss was a little wierd to be honest, Lois was expressing so much, in terms of do u want to, etc. with her eyes, and clark was a little blank. anyone else notice that/.

oh gosh she was amazing, the whole thing was amazing. I loved the looks they gave to each other when they were recording the message for the couple, the face Lois made when Clark was reading the vows, the almost kiss, sweet and sexy, they were so close...i hated Lana for a second lol but she redeemed herself later on though in my eyes, Lois and Oliver scene was touching sweet, got me all crying hehe, man she loves Clark and I loved that Oliver knew and what he said to her was insipiring hehehe :) yay this episode rocked

no actually I thought he was very expressive, I thought it was so sexy when he grabbed her by her arm to dance, so sweet and flirty. I think he was confused too at that moment but he definitely made the move and then bam Lana appears, his face said it all, very confused. Poor guy but didn't have much time to think with that Monster that crashed haha

Very good... it finally gave a real idea that "hey these two kids have a chance" lol. They both need each other but they dont quite realize it yet. It finally makes some sense that Clark and Lois end up together and that there feelings come from actually knowing each other rather than the stupid unreal love at first sight as it always seems to be in movies. true love isnt at first sight, thats just lust. thats what i like about them knowing each other before he's superman. there is an actual connection.

it was by far the greats ep10 of smallville and lois and clark working throught their feelings was good and its clear clark has finially move past lanna his attude when she shows was one of shock and agner but u could see that he as chanced his feels for lois are still growing and he not sure what to do but u can see he does care for lois i think he just need work out his feeling for lois

and as for lanna you can tell clark doesn't have thoughs feels anymore for lana they have both chanced and grown into different people now

I couldn't tell that clark's feelings were removed for lana. He seemed to still wait at her beckon call.

I dislike his attatchment to Lana. And want to see a more decisive Clark on that front.

I don't think that at all. I think Clark and Lana will always love each other on some level. I was also glad to see the way they've written her when she came back. She is still protecting Clark and pushing Clark to move on and follow his destiny. There's a lot more that will need to be said between the two of them, but I'm happy with the way they've brought Lana back. At least to start with.

I wish I could see it in your POV, but what I saw was Clark still having feelings for Lana, and Lana still feeling something there but strong enough to admit that they're not meant to be. Clark and Lana need proper closure, and that's why she's here.

It was an incredible scene I agree. ED really played that just right. I liked Lollie although I love Clois more but I've always thought that the scenes between Justin and Erica work really well. Right now they have a more mature relationship that Clark and Lana. Maybe with time they will get to that place too.

I liked lois grabbing the bottle of champagne, ostensibly to drink herself senseless, it confirmed my continuing opinion of the character as being unworthy of being with ClarkMan.

I think Clark and Lana will always love each other too, but that shouldn't take away from the sincerity Clark and Lois. Don't you think Lois will always love Oliver too? She knows his secret for goodness sake, and she's the one who finally cut the cord. I find it hard to believe that she suddenly feels nothing for him - especially after an episode like "Toxic."

I also think the pacing of Lois and Clark's relationship is just fine. It's not like they're falling for each other over night - and while I wish Clark had said something as he and Lois were staring each other in the eyes, his lack of words, for me, were him actually letting Lana go. Ironically, Lana shows up right when he is about to take a chance - it's a good thing though, Clana needs closure and Clark's not ready for a steady relationship - he needs to work out his identity issues first.

I'm not a Clana fan...but I agree with the statement. They have made Lana a much more mature woman, and it shows. I was dreading her return...but it proved to be far less painful then I anticipated. I enjoyed her a lot. :)

The scene when they're dancing, and Lois puts her hand on his chest, **sighs** that was beautiful. Tom and Erica were magnifico!! That scene is definitely up there. I'd say #1 so far, because they finally realized their feelings for each other and it was real. They weren't infected with kryptonite, they weren't under a love spell, and nobody was taking over their bodies. It was just the two of them.

Yeah, I liked her return too. I've always like Lana, but I always thought she needed to get tougher. That started to show maybe since last season, but in tonight's episode it definitely showed. Even when she got hurt and ended up in the hospital, she didn't want Clark's help. She knew that other people needed him more. Besides, didn't you see those karate moves? it looks like she's been taking care of herself pretty well?

for me i loved the hospital scene, after lois saw Clark and Lana. It was painful to watch but she really moved me with that scene. I mean jsut seeing the guy that you like and thinking he is back with his first love, after the emoitonal roller coaster that day, then not knowiing where your cousin is and now Jimmy in bad shape. Not having anyone else. Trying to hold it in all at the same time in the hospital then Clark approaching her, I would be a wreck! and SHE nailed the part!!

ERICA Rocks!!

Reeve_290
11-21-2008, 12:39 AM
Oliver's last line, "Because I know Clark" was the only line that IMO worked in that whole scene.

ED's acting was okay (I'm not much of a fan), but the whole time, every word that came out of her mouth made me go "what????" A: none of it actually made any sense, the writers were being too flowery. B: Lois doesn't talk like that. Eve.

I personally think Lois/Oliver scene was a low point in what was otherwise a very good episode.

I thought Clark seemed surprising unconflicted about the situation. It's like Lois was thinking, "Oh my god, are we going to kiss now?" and Clark knew that they were and was just taking his time... almost teasing her. And that makes sense since Clark already knew how Lois felt about him, but Lois wasn't sure how Clark felt about her.

I agree the Clana needed closure but it's ashame that it didn't happen around episode 2 of this season. I understand the filming and projects KK was working on caused that delay but it would have been better. However, it is playing out okay.

There were 5 scenes that I thought just put Lois over the top in my book:

The scene with Jimmy and the expression on her face when he was informing her of "Flirtation 101" principles.

The look on her face during the cuff link scene when she realized the innuendo of her instructions and then the look on her face when she thought Clark was telling her how he felt.

The scene with Lois and Clark dancing and that there were no spoken words - it was all told by expressions.

Her heart-to-heart with Oliver - that was great.

Her last glance at Clark when leaving along with Jimmy.

This episode was the BEST ever so far for Lois. I am sure there will be more.

Okay, I have to stop you there! First off, I've said it before TW and ED have unbelievable cheimstry together. Secondly, when Clark looked at Lois after they got bumped by that couple he was absolutely INVITING a kiss from her. His eyes were saying YES to everything she was ASKING. It was brilliant!

Thirdly, that banter you can't stand is indicative of some of the most famous pairings of film, television and books and how they started their relationships.

When Harry Met Sally (Harry and Sally)
Pride and Prejudice (Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett)
Titanic (Jack and Rose)
Cheers (Sam and Diane)

This is only 4 of the most classic and successful romantic relationships! They all started out with that "banter" you can't stand! I think it makes for the most wonderful of all romantic journeys! Love it, and I can't wait to see more of Clois in February!;)

Can't believe I almost left this one out!! GONE WITH THE WIND, Rhett and Scarlet!!!! OMG, I could watch it over and over!!

Watch the scene again, I have, she definitely puts the bottle to her mouth and swills it, only being stopped from another scene of her drunkeness by Oliver's good nature saving lois from herself.

Actually, you have no idea what lois thought or ClarkMan thought, anymore than I. It is clear that she is completely in love with him, but he was one of passive interest forcing lois to make every move other than him reaching out to grab her hand to dance.

If ClarkMan looked at the totality of lois' words and deeds the way I do, he would see her as a very weak person with great personality flaws in a well-toned body. Not much else.:)

Mickey_Bickey
11-21-2008, 10:33 AM
There's nothing weak about Lois' character! If anything, Superman may not be worthy of her unless he shapes up!

So what if she was having a drink? It is a wedding afterall! She's not falling down drunk in every episode. This was an extreme situation where just one glass was not going to cut it. I don't blame her a bit!

Lighten up!

I might be in the minority, but I think the best scene with Lois was the first one with Jimmy. It showed all her personality traits. She was bossy, controlling, and abrasive when she was handling the wedding preparations. She also vulnerable and a little self assured during that talk with Jimmy. And how can I forget her punch at the camera. That was her combative side. Plus, her love for her cousin was the reason she was doing all this. Her cousin needed her to make sure that her special day ran smoothly.

I absolutely loved the CLois-ness in this episode tonight. I have a good feeling that Clark and Lois will be together by seasons end (at least i sure hope so.) Lois knew for a while now that she loves/has romantic feelings for Clark and i honestly think that Clark knew it too, maybe not as long as Lois has but this episode definitely made each other realize that the other has feelings for them too.

I don't know about the best Lois scene ever, as Erica has been kicking acting ass this whole season, but it was definitely one of the best.

Furthermore, I'd have to say it was the best relationship discussion on Smallville period, in my opinion, because somehow, despite portraying such heartbreaking emotions, Lois/Erica somehow has managed to remain free of the gag-inducing angst that the other three major characters (Clark, Chloe, and Lana) have buried us in over the past four or five seasons.

Maybe kudos goes to the writers, maybe they go to Erica's acting, or maybe to both, but I feel she's done this whole falling in love with Clark thing in an angst-free yet very believable manner so far (crossing my fingers and knocking on wood), and it's been delightfully refreshing!

I agree with you, OneShotClois about people drinking when they're depressed. The 2 best Lois scenes ever was Committed (when she broke down & cried when asked, "Do you love Clark"), and Siren when she poured her heart out to Clark & broke down and cried over Oliver Queen/Green Arrow.

Whoa, what's with the meanness? I'm all with feeling passionate about a character, but when we get really critical about a fictional character and then proceed to become critical of real people...I just don't get it...

It gets really heated in here! But it makes me laugh a little, so I enjoy scanning through. I wonder how much of it is just to push people's buttons because everyone seems to agree that everyone has the right to his or her own opinion. Sometimes I do notice that some opinions convey a holier-than-thou tone, which I'm sure irritates people...Maybe that's why it continues...

Back to the discussion at hand: I think ED did a fantastic job in this episode, but I wouldn't say this scene was the "best" Lois scene. It did provide more insight into Lois' feelings for Clark, and she verbally expressed what she has been embodying these last few episodes: her confusion over her feelings. And what Oliver said about there being moving on in theory and the actual moment was terrific, and for Ollie and Lois, this was indeed it. I'm waiting for Clark and Lana's moment...

I liked her talk with Jimmy. They had a nice brother/sister moment.

But I could have done without the weird "stroking the tux" scene. That was... overshare and OOC.

Yes to Jimmy. As for the tux scene, she followed it up by ringing the Jimmy wanna-be's bell. Yup, back to normal Lois.

I recommend that you read more about alcohol and drug addiction, and watch less shows/movies.

an addict is someone who drinks or does drugs every day, to say that Lois is this is totally ungrounded.

hey guys i justs rewatched the almost kiss 4 times before posting this and i cant get over the fact that lana was standing right in front of Clark and Lois for a timed 3 secounds before clois was interrupted, meaning i wouldnt be surprised if lana brings the almost kiss to clarks attention,.

an addict is someone who drinks or does drugs every day, to say that Lois is this is totally ungrounded.

Not entirely accurate. An addict is someone who is addicted to something. I saw an interview with Dick Van Dyke, I think, where he said he used to be an alcoholic, when he was on the Dick Van Dyke show. He wouldn't drink throughout the week, but every weekend, he went on binges. He'd drink to get drunk. And he said he was an alcoholic because even though it was just on the weekends, he needed to drink, he needed the feeling that came with getting drunk and he couldn't go a weekend without a drink or twenty.

That's addiction. Needing something to the point where you cannot go on without it.

Anyone who says that Lois is an alcoholic because we've seen her drink three times in five seasons doesn't know what alcoholism is. Doesn't know what addiction is. Not only is it judgmental, but it shows a fundamental lack of understanding about something that so many people with struggle every day.

Incidentally, unless people who would lambast for drinking have never drunk a sip in their lives, it's also hypocritical, IMO. *shrugs* On the other hand, it would be an excuse to bash, and heaven knows we need more of those!

An alchollic is someone who is addicted to alcohol. they crave it every day, get the shakes without it...they feel they cant live without it and that is in no way Lois lane.

She drinks for fun or when feeling down.

she doesnt drink it to live.

That's very interesting and true. So, what constitutes the angst? Lois' emotions just don't feel as tortured and dark as Lana's I suppose. I can't put my finger on what else it is. Clark doesn't look constipated around Lois...that helps.

Hard to choose. I liked everyone. When she thought Clark was pouring his heart out but was actually reading Jimmy's wedding vows. Her facial expressions say it all. When Clark grabbed her hand to dance and the the look she gave him when she was going in for the kiss, you can see the joy and fear on her face. Clark is the Man! he did everything so smoothly. Suave!

Even when Lana was talking to Clark in the barn, she was making me gag. She is angst personified and once again, is involved in some covert operation with whoever texted her the message about the archer.

I'm so glad Lois just walked away from all that. Clana is poison. Stay away from it until the Haz-Mat people clear the area.

I liked how, even now Lana is back, it's always about her, what she wants and where she wants to be. I wish Clark would move on quickly. His relationship with Lana is unhealthy and Lois walking away until he resolves that was very wise of her.

Thinking back over the seasons, Erica really knows how to play the emotional scenes well. The Ollie/Lois talk and the hospital scene in Bride were two of my favourites. However I also loved her confession scene in Committed and the ending of Siren, she really is a great actress.

But I could have done without the weird "stroking the tux" scene. That was... overshare and OOC.Maybe if Lois hadn't put her hand on Clark's chest during the dance in pretty much the same way it would have bothered me. I thought it was important because it showed without a doubt that Lois decided that morning she wanted to kiss Clark and it wasn't a spontaneous thing that happened on the dance floor. It shows why Lois was so nervous during the cuff link scene and why the fact Lana broke the moment was so devastating.

I'll grant that perhaps there are better ways to have shown Lois' intentions but I do think the tux moment (or something like it) was needed.

I don't know... to be honest, I think Lois has been thinking about kissing Clark way before she stroked the tux... she also has been obsessed with his chest (she plants her hands on there as often as she can) a lot longer, too.

It was a piney and OOC, imo & it came off making Lois looking very... stalkerish.

No Lana or villian interruptions, just sweet Clois.I hope someone will take up the challenge and put it in utube.

I thought the scene when they were about to kiss was a little wierd to be honest, Lois was expressing so much, in terms of do u want to, etc. with her eyes, and clark was a little blank. anyone else notice that/.She was clearly more "expression-al" than CK, BUT....

Clark held her arm/hand after she was bumped by the passing couple...then when Lois put her right hand on his chest :D:D:D(lapel of his suit), you could see in Clark's face that it was MORE than okay with him!!!! ;););) He stepped forward once she put her hand up there!! Yes, folks...he stepped forward!!!!!:D

Not just the lines I'm talking. It was her delivery. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Cloiser, but in the past, ED has not been terribly strong or effective at communicating those sad/emotional scenes. They've always felt like someone acting. Here, (And previously in the season) I just felt there's been a major breakthrough to the next level on her part. This scene showed that perfectly to me.

I don't know how I missed this thread. I took the time to read all the posts so I would know if I would repeat someone else....I loved all the Clois moments and have watched this episode numerous times. I thought the conversation between Lois and Ollie was very good on Lois' part. Erica is becoming a wonderful actor showing all of the emotions.

I have to say though my favorite scene with Lois' vulnerability is when she finally called it quits with Ollie and was pouring her heart to Clark about she couldn't be left behind one more time and Clark gave her a comforting hug and patted her on the back. She got many praises for this scene.

As far as my favorite from Bride, it's really hard to choose. It would have to be the scene where Clark takes her hand to dance where no words were needed to express their feelings leading up to the almost kiss. When a scene can be so powerful between two people without a word spoken, that to me is acting of the best kind.

Props to ED this season *claps hands in appreciation*

I put it up there with the confession of love from "Committed"

'Bride' was by far the best episode, overall, of this season. This is mainly because of Clark and Lois coming closer to their destiny in the Superman mythology. The following comment is not from 'Bride', but is relevant to it:

As far as the Clois relationship, the episode where Lois is hooked up to the lie detector with their kidnapper promising to electrocute Clark if she lied is my favorite scene of all. The kidnapper kept prodding her, "Do you love him!!???" When finally after much internal anguish, she replied "Yes", Clark was bracing himself to get zapped again. When it didn't happen because she was telling the truth, the moment was priceless. I've watched it over and over and over and it still moves me.
Wonderful writing and superlative acting on both ED's and TW's parts.

I have watched the dance scene over and over and Clark was so smooth in it and was looking at her lips letting her know it was what he wanted too. Lois was just so surprised when she saw him looking so suave and in control that she had to question his determined stare with her eyes. I loved Tom and Erica in that scene.

He may have been in shock when he saw Lana, and let's face it Clark never lets go of anything that easily, but at least he kept it all together and did not start brooding. It is hard for him to give up on anyone. My only problem is Lana always having to point out things, it's condescending to me.

I loved the talk with Ollie and Lois and hope now they can be closer friends too, they are fun together.

No one ever seems to mention how Oliver was drinking a lot, or that Lana has killed several people, but Lois has a few too many and she is worst person ever. Give me a break!

it's funny how everyone (oliver, jimmy) knows that lois likes clark and even clark himself knows it, but neither are fully ready to make a move. The almost-kiss was almost the first step for lois and clark, but they havent reached it yet. I dont know if they'll be together by the end of this season...hopefully then season 9 comes

Best? No way. It was an amazing delivery by Durance and golden as far as acting goes, but there have been moments that rank higher. I found the Siren scene, for example, far superior as far as the scope of raw emotion that Durance was able to display. I would also rank the scene in Committed where Lois confesses her love for Clark above this scene. The moment is very small, basically I'm talking about the 20 seconds or so when Lois begins to crumble and answers 'yes'--that moment right there was SUPERB! It gave me chills, it made me cry, it made me FEEL so much empathy for a person who isn't even real for crying out loud! Lol. That was amazing.

This moment was good, but definitely not the BEST.

I think that this scene was pretty awesome, and the actors involved really pulled it off, but I wouldn't stick it as the best Lois scene ever. I think my favorite scene would have to be in either Crusade or Committed, I just can't quite decide which one. Lois is too consistently awesome to really be able to single out a favorite.

Personally, I think my favorite SV relationship discussion would have to be the Lois/Ollie breakup scene in Justice.

Oliver: This is it, the moment, right? The moment that I'm gonna regret for the rest of my life, isn't it?
Lois: Yes.

The way Lois's voice cracked when she said that line, and the expression on her face were both just fantastic. I feel like that scene could have been really cheesy and over the top, but they made it feel real and it worked.

When Clark grabbed her hand to dance and the the look she gave him when she was going in for the kiss, you can see the joy and fear on her face.

I can totally just see her thought process during that scene. She's all... uncomfortable, don't touch him on accident, don't let on how attracted to him you are *bump* what's that look mean? what's he thinking? this is unfamiliar territory! okay, that's definitely bedroom eyes, just go for it.

I'm so glad Lois just walked away from all that. Clana is poison. Stay away from it until the Haz-Mat people clear the area.

:rotfl:

If she keeps this up the rest of the season, I don't know how she won't be nominated for an Emmy! :D:)

I think I would throw a party if that happened. Everyone I invited would be like "What are we celebrating?" and I'd be like "Erica Durance was nominated for an Emmy" and they'de be like "Who?" and I'd be like "*eyeroll* Shut up and get blasted."

Remember the clark dunking scene back in season 4? That was one of my favorites, but as for them finally really understanding their deep connection to one another, yup bride was really up there. For people who say that its too soon for this to happen.. they've known each other for 4 years now and every year the writers of Smallville have been focusing on deepening different parts of their relationship. Now that there frindship is soo strong, it is time to take it a step further: love! :) It makes sense and I am so happy that it does! Can't wait for Infamous! Its gonna be amazing! :P hehe p.s. tom and erica have awesome chemisty, and without it the show would not be what it is today xP
