Don't know don't care. I'm all Lex'd out.
These polls should really be saved until the episode starts. There was one before where Lex was mentioned and the Poll didn't include anything related to that at all. I'm sure people think they're being funny, but it wouldn't hurt to wait for the episode to air incase something about him is mentioned.

That last shot of Lex is great. Since he has that video, I think it alludes to the idea that he might be working with Brainiac. It would mean that he's also X, because he has the crystal, so he probably sent it to Clark to send him to the Phantom Zone and release Zod's wife and help jumpstart Doomsday.

In the Superman: Doomsday movie, his team thawed out Doomsday from rock or ice, something like that. So according to the movie, he dies have ties with it. And their both evil, Lex wants everything strong in his grasp. He's working undercover, I personally thought that besides the Lana text and the beginning, the first 40 minutes of the show were GARBAGE.

I don't know what to think! It is all so confusing right now. okay, there as so many villians agendas that we have no clue about. What is Tess' agenda?, What is Doomsday's?, What is Brainiac's? and not least of all, What is Lex's? Do Zod and Faora still have a part to play. Can somebody make sense of all of this?

As soon as I saw the text about "the Archer", that's the first thing I thought.
It makes sense too. Lana knew that Lex was at that location in Cuba. She could have been waiting there because Lex could have known that Ollie would show up. Lex could have set up a trap for Ollie.
I think Lana is playing on both sides of the fence. I don't think she's telling Lex anything about Ollie's secret, but she's definitely involved with him. In the comics, she becomes a Lexcorp executive. I think she will ultimately replace Tess as Lex's top executive.
I think all those wires going to Lex's brain are making him absorb simultaneous information all at once, or else why would he need the wires (he could just watch the screens). But the wires are feeding info & footage to his brain making him more observant, smarter, and much more dangerous.

if that is in fact lex at the end i think braniac is the one controlling him
in the jlu cartoon series braniac did use his body as a vessel kind of so it wouldnt be too far of a stretch to believe that braniac is the one controlling lex
this would also explain why he would be watching doomsday

I don't think Lex was there voluntarily. I think there are two posibilities:
- May be Brainiac are preparing Lex's body to take possesion of him...
- Or may be Lana is making some kind of experiment with him. May be some experiment about Lex's memories because of the secret of Clark.
I don't know...but I'm sure that Lex wasn't there voluntarily.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! LEX IS ALIVE!!!!!!! This means Clarks' in bigger trouble than he thought. Man this episode totally killed me tonight.:(
Season 8 has been amazing! The levels of “shock and awe” have been appreciably ratcheted up with each episode and tonight they really dropped the hammer. Smallville has always aspired—given the mythic grandeur of its lead character—to greater heights than the budgetary constraints of episodic television have allowed it to soar; in the last two episodes the writers have borrowed effectively from two of the most resonant films in recent years, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind a la last week’s Kryptonian memory wipe and Cloverfield during this week’s monster-crashed wedding caught on digi-cam. Smallville has really been going for broke this year; I’ve never enjoyed the show more but I still hope that they wrap it up this season. Clark will have to kill Doomsday and nearly die in the process in the series’ penultimate episode. Oliver Queen will fly him to the Fortress where Jor El via that interactive, Kryptonian, crystalline computer, AI, omniscient consciousness thing or whatever it is, will nurse Clark back to health while equipping him to fend off future alien invaders while protecting (not ruling over) Earth. The season finale will take place several years in the future; viewers will witness the beginnings of a petty crime, e.g. a bank robbery or something, effortlessly thwarted by a stalwartly superhero; Clark, in full-on Superman regalia will be seen but only briefly before supersonically propelling himself (at last!) into the sky, ostensibly to get in the way of another crime being committed somewhere else. End scene, end series, roll credits, we know the rest of the story.

Do we know that Lex was watching the wedding video itself?
It would be a reasonable conclusion since we kept seeing the video footage throughout the episode. However, if Lex barely survived the fortress collapse and is hooked up like Frankenstein someplace, it would make sense that he'd have Clark's home bugged to basically keep close tabs on him.
I must give credit to the producers for this reveal. It was bugging me that Lex was "in hiding" when there was no real reason for him to be. He hadn't committed a crime that anyone could prove and he knew Clark's secret. For some reason, it hadn't occurred to me that Lex would be incapacitated and basically lying in wait until he was well enough to strike.

no but brainiac's is
I highly doubt that was Brainiac or that Brainiac is in Lex. I don't see any purpose Lex can serve Brainiac now that Doomsday is unleashed. I think Lex is monitoring the world now and learning everything he possibly can so that when he decides to come out of hiding, he will be able to strike in an extremely dangerous manner and in a way that will give him a huge advantage. I think what we saw was Lex's version of training.

Lex at the end was awesome. What I want to know is who rescued him from the Arctic? Someone had to have found Lex injured and taken care of him until he's back to normal. That's why he's hooked up to those wires and tubes. Also, this person had to be helping Lex email Tess and steal the crystal from her to mail to Clark. He/she must know something about alien technology to help Lex reprogram the crystal. So I'm going to conclude that this person is an alien Superman villian.

Personally, I am completely disappointed in the actor{s} and in the directors/producers.
M. R. gave >all< his fans a letter last year, stating that he >would not< be returning to Smallville and continued to say such in interviews; the directors and producers also backed these statements up.
Tonight, it was extremely evident that all parties herein deliberately, purposeful lied. It wouldn't have been so horrible if their statements had been open to possiblity; the use of words such as 'most likely', 'possibly', 'not planned', etc. - those kinds of statements ought to have been used as they did not define or state a certainty that M.R. a.k.a. Lex Luthor would not be returning on Smallville.
I find it disgraceful that actor{s} can lie to their fans - the ones supporting him (or her, in some cases) and usually offer no letter of explanation or apology to the fans. Please note that this is >not< a complaint on the basis of M.R.s acting abilities, the quality of the scene or anything of that nature; it is a complaint and statement of disgust in the way it was handled to be brought about. Call it a quirk but I tend to think that a lie, no matter what the reason or explanation, remains... a lie. And, if someone can fathom it, I tend to think lies are not a good aspect of a person's character (their personality, not the person they portray).
I could go on about my disgust and about Hollywood (and actors/actresses in general since Smallville doesn't get filmed in Hollywood, CA.) seems to lack >any< ethics in regards to such things, but what would be the point? Fans get what they want and they don't care (too much) that they were lied to.
In the end, I guess such 'trivial' things only matter to the people who do think that telling a lie, no matter how big or small, makes a person out to be a liar and ergo, changes the way we define them/look at them.
I know what you mean. But this doesn't mean that MR is back. Remember the cartoon "Inspector Gadget", they didn't show Dr. Claw. I would like to see MR, but they'll probably have him on the other end of the phone, or computer, or show his back.

I hope that you aren't seriously that upset. Personally I'm glad that they aren't just dropping all visual references to Lex because just talking about him all the time would get old, not to mention unrealistic. And while MR said that HE would not be returning this doesn't automatically mean that his character is null. I mean come on, this is Lex Luthor we're talking about here, they can't just drop his character all together. As long as we don't get some other actor to try to replace the wonderful work that MR did I am perfectly fine with what I saw in this episode. In addition to that I seriously doubt that when MR and the directors/producers said that MR wasn't returning for the show, they were purposefully lying to the audience so that they could sneak that five second clip in without us seeing it coming.

I guess thats is just setting up for the next episode with Tess and Lana. I guess she's keeping him alive.
