I agree with you 100% on this, and I think to much is being played up on the fact that Doomsday killed Supes. It seems to me that it would be way to soon to take it anywhere near that, and I think that a mature Clark standing on the precipice of assuming the mantle of his identity as Superman shouldn't be beat down to death. Although this would be a good time to have a big fight with Clark and Doomsday going all out against each other and both getting womped about, and not just a Clark getting his butt handed to him only to have at the last minute someone or something interceding on his behalf to defeat his foe. Clark also needs to use the full compliment of his powers to his advantage as well, and at this point they should take into consideration that Clark has been using his powers longer and has mastered them all except for flying of course or at least as of now. In seasons past the old show runners were more interested in showing off the villains powers at Clark's expense, but that shouldn't be the case now. This is a great time for Clark to be able to let loose against a powerful adversary as well, and show just how powerful he is to. Doomsday catching Clark's punch in the episode "Bride" and then easily dispatching him to the loft I think made Doomsday look all powerful against Clark, and that's just not the case. So they'd be wise to show just how powerful Clark is as well, and leave the death of Superman to the comics and animated DVD for now because there's no need for a repeat of it on Smallville. Also I think it'd be very unoriginal to take it there right now, and way to soon for Clark to die at Doomsday's hands. So just give us a great fight without the death of Clark, and let both characters let loose and show what they got. Take care.

Peace To All

Spot on I agree with you, by his very nature Doomsday is a creature that evolves and hasn't evolved into his full self yet. We may only see him at this stage of his evolution on smallville for budget reasons but because he isn't the full strength Doomsday we know from the comics there isn't any reason why Clark can't beat him without getting killed off. The way I see it, they fight brutally Doomsday appears to have died, Clark disposes of him somewhere but just before the credits close they hint he could still be alive, his eye opening or something like that.

I loved it too! I don't know anything from the comics, but I loved how Doomsday looks.

Ok is it me or did anyone see that Doomsday isnt really computerized. When you see the clip of him in the fortress I can totally tell its a costume, which makes it cool and wierd at the same time.

basically it would be ridiculous to even think about having clark kent die IF he even has a fight with DD. First off, the writers know that we want the transition of clark into superman, but the fact is he isn't. So why even consider death from DD when this supposedly happens in the future anyways, it would suck to even think that DD killed supes twice. Though you can't really say kill because there is no superman portion to there storyline to indicate how they would write the outcome with a DD vs superman fight.

So...I think for once they should give a long enough action scene of them fighting, it could just be takes of them punching, throwing eachother around, pushing eachother through walls and stuff, some cool cgi effects, maybe clark using heat vision, some 'bullet time' action scenes, basically they can make a good and a decent length fighting scene that wouldn't hurt the budget, theres ways they can drag the scenes on longer, at least to give some good film time for something like that. However i think we won't get that at all, and clark will probably get his butt kicked, unless he comes back and turns it up a notch like he did with Titan. I can see someone helping him or doing something that saves clark but gets rid of DD for now. My thinking is the writers will leave it so that clarks fight with DD is his 'island or his fear' that pushes him to become superman (train with Jor-El), maybe knowing he was not strong enough to defeat DD on his own. What smallville will do won't matter cause young C.K in the comics or DVD movie never knew who DD was until he was superman, so theres no rule that smallville has to go by that superman died, even though that was the original outcome with these 2, many prefer the DVD outcome where he actually doesn't die but goes into a coma like state (my preference as well). On a positive note, the new writers having the ability to take the story in the direction they've wanted to, i do have confidence they won't let us down. If they ever come on this sight, I would think they know what the fans want, too many people have the same wants for the show, that should be a light bulb going off, telling them the things that might make the show even better.

Clark will always get his butt kicked at first cause he always holds back, so i'll say if the fight goes similar to one he had with Titan i would still be happy, i would just prefer that they would make it longer, darker, more action, cool use of cgi (bulliet time, heatvision), and basically make it a decent length scene, and if they do that i think it could turn out really well.

im sure that chloe will somehow get her healing back and heal clark in finale which will result in her death because he isnt human or wateva and that is wat wil compel him to really go a dd !!

That'd be too cliche, and I don't think they should do it at all. If anything, take a page from the comics and say he went into a coma, but with him having so much solar radiation stored inside of him, he was able to stay alive. People keep forgetting that he never actually died in the comics.

Well, the only reason she saved Lex was to save Clark.Good point. I just saw the episode again recently on dvd (bluray), I guess I forgot that important detail.

But no matter which way Clark is brought back, I want him to have one final conversation with Jonathan in that Great Big Barn in the Sky.LOL

(Doomsday kills Clark. Clark goes to the Great Big Barn in the Sky.)

Clark: Dad?? Am I....*gulp* d-e-d?
Jonathan: No. You're d-e-A-d, stupid. But forget about that for one second. Son, you have to go back. It's not your time yet. Don't you see...you are "The One".
Clark: Neo??
Jonathan: No...the OTHER one. SUPERMAN.
Clark: Can I be Neo instead?
Jonathan: No.
Clark: Aw.
Jonathan: You know Clark, sometimes I'm glad I'm dead.
