Season 1 - Shimmer
Teenage Amy Palmer has a crush on Lex. Her mother works in the Luthor's mansion , and she lives there with her brother also. Amy is jealous of Victoria Hardwick (Lex's gf). Something attacks Lex and Victoria. Chloe suspects Amy, but is it her? Something about Lana and Whitney having a break, and Clark gets excited. Lionel arrives for a visit.

Season 2 - Skinwalker
Clark meets Kyla Willowbrook after falling into the Kawachee caves and meets her grandfather Professor Willowbrook. Prof W tells Clark the story of Naman and Sageth based on the paintings on the walls. They are trying to save the land above the caves that Luthorcorp is now building on. Martha gets caught in the middle, and people find themselves attacked by a wolf.

Season 3 - Whisper
While Clark's shopping for a birthday present for his mum, he's caught in a robbery where our regular FOW appears, and emmits this weird high pitched noise by rubbing his windpipe. The sound is obviously worse to Clark with the superhearing. He tries to stop an earring hitting him with heat vision, but the earrings are made of kryptonite, and the rays cause him to go blind. With his vision gone, Clark finds his hearing heightened. Pete gets kidnapped, and Clark has to rely on his new sense of superhearing to rescue him. Oh and Lana tells Clark about Adam.

Season 4 - Scare
An explosion at Luthorcorp releases toxins into the air, forcing Smallville resisidents to "relive" their worst nightmare.

Season 5 - Fanatic
Large sennate campaign, which sees Pa Kent choose Lois as his advisor. And after a meet and greet at the mansion, one of Lex's new fans goes a bit mad and threatens the life of Jonathon. Elseware Clark and Lana have a tiff over the lack of "happiness" in their relationship. And Lionel sides with Martha over Lex for the campaign. The beginning of Mionel.

Season 6 - Hydro
Lois confides in Clark that she suspects Oliver is the Green Arrow, and that she intends to catch him out with the help of Jimmy. Clark tells Oliver, and they come up with a plan - which sees Clark dressed in the Green Arrow suit, kissing Lois, Jimmy getting happy that he got a picture, then sad because there is no face there. Lets not forget that Linda Lake is in this episode, where she publishes that Lana is still in love with Clark, and is about to publish that Clark is an alien, before Chloe stops her. Then Lana hits her with her car.

Season 7 - Persona
Lana is living in bliss with who she thinks is Clark at the farm, but is actually Bizarro. Brainiacs alive and living off rats. Bizarro wants the help from Brainiac in staying Clark forever. Chloe knows something is wrong. Grant Gabriel aka Julian reveals himself to Lionel. Jor-El releases Clark from the fortress, so he can go find Dax-Ur (the Kryptonian living in hybernation on earth) and destroy Bizarro.

Season 8 - Bride
Chloe and Jimmys wedding day. Lana returns. Over all joy for all we presume. Except Doomsdays going to come and say hi.

At the moment, Persona stands at the top of my list. Gotta love Brainiac and Bizzaro in the same episode. Not to mention, that great ending with Pioneer to the Falls playing as Lex plays pool, while he has his brother murdered. Just awesome.

Going to disagree. Yes, Bride was a good episode, but I don't think it was anywhere near as great as Exodus, Descent, Memoria, Asylum and/or Shattered, to name a few. Those were in many ways defining moments of the show and honestly, it's not going to be easy for anything to live up to those episodes. Maybe a future episode will be as good as those, but time will tell. In general, I feel season 8 is good, but hardly the best ever of the series. It has many good ideas and things have been getting more interesting since Prey, but so-far nothing has been top ten material. Bride is surely one of the top shows, but hardly in the top ten.

This is really tough! I absolutely love Whisper; it is one of my favorite Smallville episodes ever, but then I also like Hydro because 1. it was a good episode and 2. Tom Welling directed it. Bride was good, but I need to watch it again before I could ever consider placing it over Whisper. I mean think about it, Clark kent lost his vision and still saved the day! I don't know why, but I love episodes where Clark is most vulnerable but still manages to step up and save someone.

I think it's the best Season since Season 3.

The majority of my top ten episodes come from Season 3. Loved Memoria, but Doomsday, in my opinion is probably in the top ten. Not at the top, but maybe 8th or 9th. I'd have to go through those episodes again to see. This season has been tremendous though.

Well that was a bit hard to vote for cuz I loved Persona as well and I think that episode gave a big turn for all the characters, from Lex killing his brother, Clark finding out about Bizarro with Lana, Lana realizing she really couldn't have the Clark she wanted. Everything really....but in the end I had to pick Bride cuz it has so much more tension, fun, action, love all in one, even some funny comments. Of course also it made the characters turn big time into a new life

For me it's between Hydro/Bride. The story overall was better in Bride, but the kiss and the end when Lois tells Clark about the kiss being the best was priceless! I must have watched those 2 scenes about 50 times easy!! I loved the entire episode of Bride except of course when Lana arrived!

Skinwalker, Whisper & Scare were all great episodes. There were good ones too like Shimmer, Hydro & Fanatic. But Bride was by far the best 10th episode. I think a lot of the episode was pretty slow, but it started really picking up with the attack scene and the ending with Lex was completely unexpected. They did a great job on the appearance of Doomsday so far.

LOL, no question, "Bride" easily trumps all of those mostly filler 10th episodes.

"Shimmer?" It was just... eh... OK. Run-of-the-mill FOTW action.

"Skinwalker?" A little better. Kyla was more interesting, and it showed us the caves for the first time, so for adding to the overall Smallville mythos, I'm willing to concede that it's probably second or third place among these contestants.

"Whisper?" Actually, that was pretty well-done, too, even though the way Clark was blinded seemed like a rather lame plot contrivance, and the FOTW was none too interesting.

"Scare?" It was okay. It had some cool "dream" sequences and minor revelations, but it wasn't an earth-shattering episode for me.

"Fanatic?" UGH. 'Nuff said.

"Hydro?" Not too bad. I'm just not a Tori Spelling fan... AT ALL.

"Persona?" Again, pretty well-done, but it just doesn't come CLOSE to "Bride." It might beat out "Skinwalker" for second place, though.

The rest I am not even going to rank as I hated most of them. Seriously, how could most of those episodes be a mid-season ender right before winter break? Or were they not? I only started watching the show on TV with S7, while I watched all the seasons on DVD before then. I don't see how they could be mid-season episodes since most of them are just horrible and I don't remember if they had any sort of cliffhanger at the end. Ugh. I only put Whisper as number three since it wasn't horrible, but was just okay.

So yeah, Persona and Bride are so far ahead of any of those other episodes.
