I really enjoyed it.I loved the Clois's scenes:funny, sweet, romantic and very emotional.Doomsday, the transformation was great, the aspect of the monster was awesome but,why did he had to talk but, mostly saying Chloe's name....it just felt weird you know.Poor Jimmy,he was right,it's bad luck that the groom sees the bride before the wedding.By the way,LEX IS ALIVE!!!

I have to be honest i have been trying to vote and also trying to put into words what i feel. one thing for sure smallville makes me Bipolar LOL !

I loved the eipsode but yet hated it too. so there fore im bipolar and cannot vote.
i went through and slew of emotions during this episode.

first i will say that tom is gorgeous as always. chloe looked beautiful and so did lois. i really do like the darker hair on lois.

i am dissapointed in the clois pimping and please let me explain... it is just too much ! i want to see why lois is the one not be told by jimmy olsen how they look at eachother ! first of all most of the time clark looks annoyed at lois. so i don't know what the hell jimmy is talking about. im so tired of other people playing match maker for these two ! let it happen they don't need connect a date ...it is getting ridiculous ! first jimmy then oliver but i must admit clivers speaking of clois was better cause it is obvious lois is crushing on clark so for oliver to see it is okay, but up until this episode i have not seen clark look lovingly at lois or in a wanting kind of way. in crimson he was sweet with her when she wanted to dance he blushed it was cute but not the same thing IMO.

in this episode bride clark notices she looks beautiful as she comes downb the stairs . then he as usual looks emabarrased by her sexual remarks which i did not care for the cuff links line .. but the general make love with the enemy was funny as hell. again it is all in the lines and the writing.

when clark reads jimmies vows and lois looks at clark i think that is the first time clark really notices lois liking him and he is as confused as he ever is when a women likes him... poor clark. the tilt of his eyes and the scrunched eyebrows says it all " duh why is lois looking at me like that ? i think she likes me ? " LOL !

clark sees chloe and never comments on how beautiful she looks or anything ? he was not even taken aback but how could he with kryptonite being shoved in his face LOL ! which i have to say Chloe looked all too happy to be doing it ??? she was smiling a wicked smile IMO. almost like hahahahaha ! it was weird ?

i would have liked clark giving chloe the tresspass flower just the two of them. i feel it was a clark moment and it should have been private and i don't understand lois 's comment " thanks clark another pre wedding fire put out " WTH ?

i wish chloe and clark would have been alone for that it was very special that clark saved that flower i think it says alot about how clark felt at that time and i feel like lois being there took from it .

i would have liked chloe to be a little more flattered and that would have been a good time for clark to say chloe you look beautiful or before they walked down the barn steps during ceremony they could of had a chloe and clark private momnet where clark could have acknowledged how beautiful she looked.

the wedding in the barn not liking too much .. weird . it was kind of pretty.
chloe in her lingerie getting her garter belt on she looked hot !

lana looks great but i don't like the extensions they put on her hair i would rather see her hair really short as we know she cut it a few months back. did not like the xtentions that much to be honest.

loved lana's entrance .. what a classic smallville hoot ! . clarks face during the dance with chloe hurt when she said a weight had been lifted.. come on clark either you stand behind your decision or you don't. his expresion clearly showed hurt and regret and for me too i miss chloe .

clark seems to be a little screwed up that lana is there but its okay i understand . he loved her for a long time . im mad he had to be told by lana to look for chloe . lois seems to really feel for clark and he may be attracted to her but not in love which is fine with me cause i think i need more time for lois and clark.

doomsday was okay where the hell is the bloody mess ? i wanted a little more violence from dooms. that part was overated IMO. more blood please.

did lana have to get hurt ? i swear the writers did that as a joke LOL !

i would have liked more of a lois , lana clark triangle but we won't get it cause lois will not be around for the next five episodes. when she returns lana will be gone.

anyway i could go on and on i did feel bad for lois and i cannot believe that emotion was pulled out of me but i felt bad for her . she reminded me of chloe in earlier seasons ! ( thats really messed up ) she has become the piner .

i honestly feel clark and chloe would have had a chance in zod had chloe not went for jimmy . and pushed clark away because she thought clark would not want her and clark did not say anything cause he thought chloe wanted jimmy but in reality it was chloe p[laying the friend card again IMO. if clark would have saidsomething she would have swooned IMO. anyway i feel chloe could still love clark cause i don't believe this lightswitching on chloe's love for clark being gone it is a lightswitch ....period !

i loved the ending doom carrying chloe in the fortress LOVED THAT ! beautiful; ! possibly lex at the end AWSOME !

but the scenes with clark and chloe were dry and emotionless no feeling ot felt fake it did not feel like friendship chlark at all. this has me pissed because of regardless of the future love in clarks life his relationship with chloe does not need to be destroyed like this and it is gone i don't see them the same and it is not just the mind wipe it was obvious before the wipe that chlark was slipping . why does chlark have to be sacrificed for clois ? WHY ?

im sorry but i don't see why.

i will say i liked lois in this episode. yes i said i liked lois in this episode . she was not being very obnoxious but she was light heartedly fun ! BUT i did not like her running to the bottle right away. that does not look good .. sorry that just cheapens her IMO. its always alcohol she needs better coping skill IMO.

but i did like lois in this episode .

lana and clark was great ( can't believe i said that ) but it was bitter sweet and i think we will get real mature closure this time. im happy to see lana. and i love whats going on.. who is she working for and why is she being deceptive ? i like a lana thats a little bad because i always knew the innocent farm girl was bull crap! i like this lana she is her not fake little farm girl this is the real lana and i like her. she has taken all the bad and made it a part of her she was always deceptive trying to be little goodie two shoes when she really had a bad side all along . thats why she drove me nuts in the earlier seasons cause i knew she was really more self centered than the do gooder they tried to portray . lana has a bad side she always has and it suits her IMO.

but i still cannot vote i like the story the epsiode but chloe and clark friendship is not the same and im titally pissed . im pissed about the bloody mess ? WHAT BLOODY MESS?

couldn't we stop the clois pimping let them build whatever but do we need other chracters sounding like narrators and saying corny stupid stuff ?

i liked it and hated it maybe after i watch it for the fifth time i will vote .. yes i have watched it 4 times. i still am undecided how i feel !

9.5/10 (which I rounded to a 10). Great episode, possibly the best of the season (up there with Identity and Committed, the other real greats). Loved the Cloverfield homage/tribute, they did a great job incorporating it (love that film). The Lois/Clark stuff was just dynamite in this (the clois continues to be the best thing about this season). And I really loved the ending, with the Lex reveal. Great stuff.

That said, I do have criticisms:

1. Why is Lana this weird, twisted, dark character who emerges from the shadows when Clark first sees her again? Lol did they have to ruin her so completely (make her "damaged" in every way) to force the idea of Lana and Clark not being destined for each other in order to pave a clear and obvious path for the Clois?

Lana (to Clark): "Maybe Clark Kent and Lana Lang just weren't meant to end up together."

^Way to beat it over our heads, Smallville. Lol this reminded me of last season when Lana said she needed Clark, but the world needed him more. Clearly Lana knows the Superman mythos as well as we do. Lame. (I guess without Martha/Jonathan around to drop the endless cheesy Superman anvils on us somebody's got to, right? heh)

Lana (to Clark): "Where I am now, for the first time, it feels right."

^Huh? Where you are now is strange and confusing, Lana. Lol I for one don't see anything "right" about this Lana Lang at all, do you? Man did they ever completely destroy her character over the years (to show us how clearly wrong she is for Clark). I guess we can thank Al & Miles for the Lana Lang debacle. (By the way I hated Lana's/KK's hair. Clearly they were trying to make her look older. It looked like an 80's do or something.)

2. Green Arrow/Oliver. He took a shot at what he thought was the back of Lex's head, lol that was pretty coldblooded/cowardly/unheroic of him wasn't it? Why did he need Clark so bad to get him that router? What happened to Bart or the other team members? Who the heck was that guy on the airplane? Lol I mean he seemed to be listening in on the whole private convo between Clark and Oliver, I guess Oliver shares all of his secrets with this mysterious dude? And Oliver told Clark he would need 2 hours to download all the info on the router but this mystery dude gets it in like 5 minutes wirelessly and Oliver seemed surprised by it. Does this mean Oliver is a complete idiot when it comes to technology? lol

3. The return of butt-kicking Ninja Lana aka Chun-Li--the legend continues! Lol seriously Lana kicking the crap out of Green Arrow was so lame.

4. Doomsday looks too much like a Jem'Hadar soldier (from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). Lol I mean I like Star Trek fine, but now Smallville has me wondering when they're going to reveal that Brainiac is actually a Changeling spy. lol

5. Where the heck is Martha? Lol did they even mention her? (I mean Chloe's getting married, and on HER farm.) It's awesome how Smallville is able to conveniently forget characters whenever they want without any explanation. Like how they did with Lois being a complete no-show in Abyss.

Anyway once again great ep.

Well, this is my first post to the Kryptonsite forums, although I have been a frequent visitor since, geesh 3rd season! I guess you could call me a "phantom". lol.

I have really enjoyed a lot of what you guys have said and frankly, agree with much of it as well. This episode had so much in it that it is hard to really grasp (thank God for itunes downloads). I was like 9 when Doomsday killed superman so finally seeing him in all of his shadowy glory was incredible.

If their is one complaint that I could make it is simply that the timeline of this story just did not match up with reality. Ollie flies to Cuba, from Kansas, and picks up Lana in time to bring her to the wedding? Did anyone else find that a little absurd?

I also like the tension of bringing Lana in the next couple of episodes. Now that Chloe does not know his secret (at least for the moment anyway) it makes Lana a lot more appealing because he does not have to hide anything from her. Kind of a twist yeah? Lana is kind of set up right now to be Chloe while Chloe is set up as Lana. Oh the joys of being a Smallville fan.

The guys I was watching the episode with had some interesting discussions on wither or not the guy at the end was Lex. Most of them thought it was Brainiac, since all the wires and stuff kind of fit that mold. I do not know if I agree with this but it seems feasable. I also think it was interesting comparing Clark to Ollie. Ollie is an emotional wreck and he actually shot to kill-talk about Lana laying the guilt trip though huh! I like how they made the comparison between the two heroes and I like the fact that fits the larger idea of Superman being a hereo's example.

I understand why people have a hard time with Lois/Clark being put together now. It seems to make Lois an even bigger idiot for not knowing Clark is Superman. I just hope they don't do a mind wipe of the past 4 years on Lois. But what is the alternative then?

Overall, great stuff. I think this episode is in the top 5 of Smallville episodes these past 8 years.

Excellent episode in an excellent season.

I thought the Clana moments were well done and very mature (we now seem to have closure), Clois moments continue to rock the season, Chimmy was great and Ollie played his part too. And then there was Doomy. Woot!! :D

Creepy cliffhanger with the bizarre black-eyed smile from Chloe at Doomy and what looks, for all the world, to be Lex hooked up to life support gear, watching footage of Doomy ruining Chimmy's wedding.

It's gonna be a long two months.

9.5/10.

I gave the ep a 10 even though I thought the Cloverfield section was annoying, and that was not MR (probably his stand-in, Morris whats-his-name). The ep moved along at a great pace and the end left me wanting more. Been a while since that happened. Can't wait for January.

Let me say thank you for coming out of the shadows to post and you raise a lot of good points and questions. The Kansas to Cuba and back quandary is a big-time dilemma.
I'm coming to accept Lana's return and you bring up an interesting parallel with Chloe and Lana and Clark and Oliver. I'm with you on doubting that Brainiac was there at the end. With Lois, who knows how they will resolve it; but I still don't think she's an idiot. Just love blinded and naively innocent when it comes to Clark.

Maybe a Lex clone (like the Lana clone) being brought up to speed on what Lex should know? Just a thought...

I was waiting to see this episode mainly because of Doomsday!. I was expecting a good solid fight. But I got uber pissed when Clark got weakened by kryptonite. What a lame excuse for not going after Doomsday and saving Chole. Other than that, it was good and finally Lois admits that she loves clark. And... LANA??? why???? why'd she have to come and ruin things... man i hate lana... she should have stayed whereever it is she went and never come back. I wonder when Clark will hit someone with all his strength without worrying about killing them because that punch he threw at doomsy, it was like he was afraid to kill it. Oh well, forget it.... at the end of the day... he does die at the hands of doomsy.. right? lolz

Open - TGI Fridays:

Al Gough walks in and approaches a table near the bar

Miles Millar: Happy Thanksgiving Al! How are you? I haven't heard from you in a week.

Al Gough: (sitting down) Oh just wonderful, Miles. I've been hiding out in motels after the Mummy 3 bombed and now I'm forced to spend Thanksgiving in a food chain. Guh, I wish Speilberg would call us back..

FLASHBACK TO: Interior office at Universal Studios. Miles and Gough are explaining their movie idea.

Gough: So you see we can leave the end open because the Mummy babies are out there somewhere. So there's still a chance for a sequel. We call it "Chun Li Saves the Mummy." What do you think?

Steven Spielberg: I think you both should get the **** out of my office.

FADE BACK TO: Present, TGI Fridays

Miles: Hey, maybe we got to him this time. I mean there are a lot worse ideas than ours out there in Hollywood.

Gough: That's great. Just great.

Miles: Yeah…great.

Long Pause. Gough begins jabbing a dinner fork into his arm

Miles: Ah, stupidity for the sake of stupidity. Feeling nostalgic?

Gough: Yeah. Sometimes when I make myself a BLT I call it a love triangle just to get a taste of the good ol' days.

Miles: (laughing) Oh, I know about that. Sometimes I'll withdraw money from the ATM and burn it just for old time's sake.

Gough: What the hell happened? Seriously. What the hell happened?!

Miles: I have no idea. It was fun while it lasted though, huh? I mean, I got to hang out with Kristen Kruek, Laura Vandervoot, and Justin Hartley. Of course there was also the money, the fame, and Kristen Kruek too.

Gough: Yeah. Those were some wild times. We used to use to come up with storylines in my basement and then make ravioli.

Miles: You heard about this Doomsnight crap or whatever its called?

Gough: Ha ha! Yeah, they actually think that could work on Smallville? Fools. Don't they know that its all about relationships? Didn't Kelly bring up that silly idea before?

FLASHBACK TO: Smallville Studios

Gough: So about Grant Gabriel. I'm thinking.. BIG really Big. The audience will just eat it up.

Kelly Sounders: Mr. Gough, I had an idea that I think would be a real ratings grabber. Why don't we bring in Doomsday. The only one to ever kill Superman. It would be huge. I think the network would go for it.

Gough: (Chuckling) Awwww. Hahaha. Why don't…awww…so cute. Say that again, Kelly.

Kelly: Uh, Why don't we bring in Doomsday to grab ratings?

Gough: Awww. That's so adorable. She thinks she's real people. (turning away) So like I was saying, Grant Gabriel- it'll be huge. Lets pair him with Lois. G-u-a-r-e-n-t-e-e-d success.

FADE BACK TO: Present, TGI Fridays

Miles: Ha ha, I remember it now. She was pissed. Yeah…that sounds pretty crazy when I think about it now, I guess.

Gough: ..Stupid Superman mythos.

Miles: Right there with ya. Who the hell thinks thats going to draw ratings!? Without Lana the show is dead.

Gough: Right on. Seriously what would Clark Kent be without Lana Lang? Nothing. She made him...

A little boy stops at the table. He notices Al and Miles and approaches them

Little boy: Hey! Weren't you guys the producers of Smallville for Season 7?

Gough: Yes, yes we were.

The boy breathes in and spits in Al Gough's face before leaving

Gough: (To Miles) I get that a lot.

The little boy returns to the table and points a finger at Miles.

Little Boy: And you owe me 35 bucks for that DVD too!

Miles: I'm good for it! Get out of here! The check's on its way! (The boy leaves. Miles turns to Al) Yeah, and I get that a lot.

Gough: You figure out what you want to order yet?

Miles: A REALLY REAL CHANCE FOR CLANAAAAAA...

Gough: You ok?

Miles: I'm fine. That's just a nervous twitch I have.

Waiter: Hello gentlemen. Welcome to Friday's. I'm your server, Lisa. Today's specials are…hey, didn't you guys use to run Smallville? Season 6 was was crap, you owe me money…

Miles: I'm good for it. Check's in the mail…yada yada yada. Whatever. I'll have a glass of Kool Aid and my friend here will have a Harvey Wallbanger.

Waiter: OK. I'll get your drinks and come back for your appetizer orders. Oh. Before I go, is Tom Welling around!? He's such a dream.

Gough: Who?

--------------------------------

Wow. Our old friends aren't doing too well these days aren't they? A pity.

Its funny sometimes what Lana can do to me. Funny like.. getting Anthrax funny. Funny like.. getting gored by Rhyno funny. First time I saw this episode all I could think was negative things. Seeing her stupid face with her stupid curly hair and...that...STUPID smile just turned my stomach and mood. Oh these next four episodes are going to be just dandy. I just said the word dandy. I never say the word dandy. Me saying dandy is like Mr. Spock smiling at you, it should immediately scare you and make you back up a few steps.

But thank God for second chances and the rewind/fast forward button. Little by little I have grown to love this episode until its become one of my favorites of the season. So lets get this review on the way shall we? Well, what are you waiting for? Scroll down!

Bride

And hereee weeee.. GO!

"Jimmy, Chloe I can't tell you how happy I am that you two found each other. You're very lucky to be together." - Clark Kent, 8:00PM

Just for clarification purposes, it is impossible for Clark Kent to get drunk, right?

Akward delivery by Clark is spot on with continunity as is Lois butting in and putting her foot in her mouth. But I love her all the more for it! At least she nailed the definition of marriage. Flash to the crowd gathered for the wedding. Let me see here.. I see at least twenty-two people in this one shot. And with the going rate for seat fillers being at least 10 bucks I'd say it costed Jimmy and Chloe at least 220 dollars to pay for all these people, because there is no way in hell that many people would come to see Chimmy get married voluntarily. Flash to Clark escorting Chloe down the steps of the loft toward Jimmy. Flash to Chimmy actually getting married and me hurling. Flash to Chimmy walking happily to the applause of these paid guests. Flash to Chimmy cutting what looks to be toilet paper before someone starts having car trouble. Oh wait thats the sound of Doomsday! Why the hell did they change his intense growl to make him sound like a Vulvo? Wreckage, pain, destruction ensues then we see Jimmy laying unconscious on the floor while Chloe begs him not to die. I don't blame you at all for wanting out of that marriage Jimmy. Follow the light, the light is your friend!

Commercial break. You know, I always thought it was strange that Popeyes never sold spinach.

Kent farm. Eight hours earlier. Lois has the task of overseeing the remodeling of the barn into a place suitable for a romantic wedding and reception. One more time just so it can sink in.. Lois has the task of overseeing the remodeling of the barn into a place suitable for a romantic wedding and reception. Just wow. This old guy gets the hand-to-the-face treatment for daring to bring food inside before the reception. Personally I think she just wanted to stop him from walking so damn fast. More army-speak to "Goldielocks" before she again meets up with a guy who is walking a little damn fast. Why is everybody in a rush to marry Chimmy? What is wrong with these people? This guy almost takes his head off merely wrapping the strap of the camera over his shoulder. Why am I finding it so believeble that he is a friend of Jimmy's? Lois refuses to ring that bell and I burst out laughing everytime she saids it.

Jimmy is called "Baby bear" and my memory may be off but.. after the Mama and Papa bear found Goldielocks still asleep in the bed of baby bear, didn't they eat her!? What is Lois trying to imply here? Oh what the hell am I talking about. Moving on. Jimmy stops Lois from walking under a ladder because its bad luck. Oh, Jimmy. He then begans to pimp Clois and of course- cue the denial. I have a feeling that these anvils are about to become reality when Lois returns. Erica really is incredible with emoting and the love that Lois feels for Clark is all over her face. Camera guy is eating all of this up and gets a fist full of army brat for his trouble. Loved all of the barn scene! Great comedy and timing from everybody involved. Lois was of course great, and everybody else was at the top of their game.

I know what you're thinking. Did the producers of Smallville lose their minds 6 times or only 5. Well to tell you truth, in all of this excitment, I kind of lost count. But being that this is the CW- the dumbest network in the Land, and all about teen-angst. You've got to ask yourself one question: Do I love Chimmy? Well.. do ya punk!?

Talon. Jimmy and Camera guy go into his apartment to find a Chloe who is suddenly ok with flashing thigh. What. The. Hell. was that. And look at Camera guy! He is all up in that! Moving to get a clear shot, alternating between Jimmy's face then to Chloe's thigh, then back to Jimmy's face then back to the thigh. I guess he went to the Ron Jeremy School for Arts. Jimmy freaks out about bad luck but Camera guy has lost his mind with the camera. Anyone who is reading this, you have to go back and pay attention to this guy during this scene. Its hilarious! Jimmy finally tells him to put down the camera. He tells Chloe about his concerns but Chloe is a little too confident that everything is going to turn out fine.

"Look, our love has weathered federal arrests and heart attack-inducing kisses and a freakazoid bout of amnesia. I think we'll survive this." - Chloe Sullivan, 8:11PM

Just wow. Do I really need to say anything?

Jimmy calms down and goes to get the source of his power- his bow tie. Chloe receives a voice mail from Davis that makes him sound like a stalker. Of course Chloe lies about it because she loves Jimmy too much to be honest with him. Easy now, Cedric. Save some for later. Good scene, especially because of Camera guy. I actually liked the Chimmy until the end.

Commercial break. On the next.. Maury! Are you half man and half woman and in love with yourself? Call us.

Clark: Ok guy.. I'm here on time and my hair is terrific. Give me the line for the commercial

Producer (off set): Are you talking to me?

Clark (confused): ..Of course I'm talking to you..

Producer: No.. Are you talking to me?

Clark (annoyed): OK listen, just cut out the nonsense and give me the line.

Producer: I'm serious.. are you talking to me?

Clark (angry): You know what, I'm a busy man and I don't need this s***

Producer: Mr. Kent please! The line is really "are..you..talking..to..me". Haven't you seen that Robert Dinero movie?

Clark (confused): Ohhh I get it. Ha ha. I get it now. Ha ha. I'm going to kill you.

Kent Farm. Clark comes downstairs to see his home is one big wedding jungle. Oliver is standing in the living room trying not to look freaked out by all the orange. So Lex is Mr. X eh? Makes sense. At first I didn't like that Clark turned down getting the router for Oliver because of the wedding. I can see why he wouldn't want to disapoint Chloe, but really it would take but a few mins so why not? Ominous warning from Oliver about Lex being more dangerous now than ever ends this scene and changes Clark's mind afterall. He agrees to get the router for Oliver, leading us to..

Oliver's Jet. Oliver looks like he's choking up at his parent's picture but hurries and hides it like he's reading Penthouse. Clark comes swooshing in like the wind, holding the coveted router. Because Oliver sucks at hiding things, Clark spots the photo of his parents and concludes that Oliver is really after Lex for revenge and not justice. Oliver insists he isn't but the guy is near tears and looking very unstable. Clark asks Oliver to wait until after the wedding so that they can go together but nah uh! Thats not fast enough! Some almost bald-guy luckily managed to download the info while Clark was still standing there. I don't know how but.. alrighty then! Oliver smiles then goes back to staring at his parents. Obsess much? OK scene, with great acting from JH.

Kent Farm. Chloe is standing in the loft just ..staring at the wall. Okkkk. In walks Lois to tell her how beautiful she looks. And I must agree. AM looked great. Another phone call from Davis breaks up the love fest and Chloe tells Lois everything she refuses to tell Jimmy. When asked does she have feelings for Davis she dodges it and says all she wants is to marry Jimmy. Chloe needs something borrowed and I shout from my couch "How about a reality check?" but no one on the show hears me. She rambles through Clark's things and gets a piece of meteor rock. Wouldn't it strike anyone odd that this guy has a piece of meteor rock in his desk? I guess its just me then. Clark comes upstairs and when he sees the meteor rock he almost falls down the stairs backpeddling. Ha! Quick thinking, Clark pulls out a flower Chloe gave to him at homecoming. He just knew Lois would go goo-goo eyes over something like that. I invented that in junior high. Offered this guy my gameboy just because I knew this girl I really liked would be watching and be impressed at how much of a sharing sweetheart I was. Truth was that I couldn't stand the punk and the gameboy was broken anways. Ahhh love. Scene ends with Clark and Lois walking down stairs. Cute little scene. I liked it.

Hey mister, can I have your autograph?

Sure thing kid. Here ya go.

Gee thanks Mister. Hey Mister Batman is better

Cuba. Its Green Arrow and he's living La vida loca. Well.. almost. I don't know if he's in a sweatshop or something but it isn't good. He sees someone standing by the window and takes aim. Just like the nutcase he is, its a head shot and the guy goes down in a heap. Fortunately it was a mannequin. Speaking of mannequins, whats with these department stores making mannequins so life-like these days? I almost asked one out the other day until I saw that it wasn't blinking, talk about embarassing. But its not my fault because the thing was actually moving. Anyways, Oliver finds a note that tells him that Lex just escaped him. Some nutcase woman jumps out of nowhere and kicks him in the back, then in the face. Oh.. dear ..God, its Lana. Just great, just wonderful, just who I wanted to see. UGH. And writers, cut that Kung Fu crap out please. This is the same woman who was tackled and tasered by a geek in "Action" last season. Where was her Kung Fu then huh? Now that I think about.. where has it been for the last 5 seasons?

Commercial Break. There was a Toyota commercial during Smallville. Did they accidentally buy ad time on the wrong night or something? Maybe my TV is possessed.

Back now. Still in Cuba. Still with Lana. And now she knows Oliver's secret. Thats all she lives for. She's not convinced that it was Lex sending those messages. Well who else would it be, Lana? Why would Tess send messages to herself? I'll leave logic out of this and just go with the flow. She followed the trail to "protect Clark". Not this again. Oliver offers to help her find Lex and she says.. oh boy..

"Is this your version of help, because it seems a little personal to me." - says the pyscho dressed in all black who flew to a foreign country just to stand in the shadows of sweatshop, jumping out of nowhere to kick people in the back of the head, 8:29PM

And now she's lecturing Ollie about the greater good? I am NOT going to make these next 4 episodes. Don't do it Oliver. Don't you dare Oliver. He did it. He invited her back to Smallville. Well, who else is up for a Green Arrow death in the finale? IDIOT!!!

Kent Farm. Lois walks down the steps calling for Clark to get a move on. He does, and judging by the look he's giving her thats not the only thing thats moving. Can't blame the guy. Lois is in a orange dress and she still looks hot as fire. Cue the cufflinks sex talk and I'm surprised Lois wasn't killed by Clark's heat vision. When Lois walks away her face is full of emotion. Part embarassment, part flustered. The moment she turns to see Clark reading Jimmy's vows there is a unspoken realization in both of their eyes for just a split second. Blink and you miss it. I felt that at that moment Clark realized just how deep Lois' feelings for him went by the happiness in her eyes. Lois managed to make the best out of the moment but she was stung that the words weren't for her and Clark continued to look at her inquisitively as if he was putting it all together finally. In time Lois, in time he'll say those to you. In walks Camera guy to end the scene. I loved all of this. The unspoken spokens are getting louder by the scene for these two.

Teenager (whispering & pointing): Woah dude thats him! Toldcha he shops at Food Lion!

Younger Boy (still whispering): No way! Thats not him!

Teenager: Shhhh, I'll prove it. (clearing throat) Hey Doomsday, where's the Rice Crispies?

Davis: What the hell did you say to me?!!

Teenager: Oh, oh. I'm s-s-s-s-sorry, Mr. Bloom. I thought that since everyone joked about it, it was sort of, you know, fair game to new kid around. Oh Jesus. Please don't kill me.

Abadoned Alley. Davis is freaking out big time on his cell phone. It looks like he's been calling Chloe because he's scared. Blood is everywhere. After frantically wiping the blood off of his truck, he takes a bag of human remains to a dumpster. Yikes! A nosy security guard finds him back there and starts asking all the wrong questions. Maybe its just me, but when I see blood on the ground around a strange man, I make like a tree and leave. Instead, cop of the year decides to play hero and gets squashed. Really good scene here. I have to give SW props for how he sold all of this. Why weren't there more scenes of him in this episode? There should have been at least two. Its a travesty.

Kent farm. Speaking of travesty, Chimmy is dancing, apparently after being married. Jimmy really did it this time, didn't he!? The IDIOT!!! Thank God I didn't have to see the actual wedding cermony. The DJ invites Clark to dance with Chloe. Wow just like that huh?

I was called out once at a wedding. Once. It was by this stalkerish woman who I was trying to avoid like the plague for the whole wedding and reception. But she kept managing to find me in the crowd. To this day I still think my friends was helping her find me. I'd do things like point to the sky and then run when she turns her head to look, or excuse myself to the restroom and wait for 3 minutes until I saw that she was distracted then sneak out. It was seemingly working. Finally near the end of the reception she gets on a microphone in front of everybody and says "I'd like to invite Cedric up here for this special dance. Cedric would you come up here, please." I damn near choked on those little cheese squares that I was eating. And everybody around me started clapping and ushering me up there toward her. Oh it was ALL fun and games to everybody else. And then when the song started playing, it turned out to be this slow romantic one and everybody was just looking at us and smiling. Because I'm so baddass that I take badass vitamins every morning, I came up with a plan to end things. The plan was simple: Dance as fast as humanly possible to this slow song. You guys should have seen her face! She thought I was on Speed. Now that I think about it, you should have seen the face of everyone there. They were speechless! Ha ha. I think it was the first time they've ever seen something like that. The whole place went silent for a good 3 minutes afterwards. Ah, those were good times! Good times!

Anyways, Chloe beckons Clark to come down from the loft in a really cute way. Makes me smile everytime. Aw shucks, I'm really enjoying this Chlark dance and convo. When Chloe mentions that they've been through too much together for her to ever forget anything it did make me a smidge sorta sad that she didn't know how ironic her words were. ::Thinks of the last three seasons of Chlark:: Well, I'm over it already. Her saying that a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders sealed the deal I think of her being given those memories back. Wohoo! In comes Jimmy to break things up. Nice dance, nice Chlark moment.

Clark is left with Lois who isn't aware that he's staring right at her. When she sees him the song changes and the lights starts twirling around them. Panting and nervous, she makes a dash for the nearest exit but Clark, being the cool cat he is, grabs her and gestures for a dance. At the start pf the dance, Lois looks nervous and doesn't get too close. Only glances were exchanged for a few moments before a random guy bumps them into each other, finally forcing them to really look at each other. Then begans a moment of perfect harmony. When you don't need to rely on words to say what you've been wanting to say to someone. Where you just rely on chemistry. Clark retakes her hand and they stare into each other. Lois places a hand on his heart and Clark shows no resistance. Finally they finally lean in for a kiss. Perfect. All of it was perfect. No words were needed, the scene spoke for itself. I couldn't have asked for more.

I said I couldn't have asked for more...

I REALLY DON'T WANT ANY MORE...

..But those words go over Chloe's head as she breaks the moment.. and in walks Kung Fu Belzebuub. In this moment of bliss, where both Chloe and Lana's bodies were hugging each other, I envision a small meteor crashing through the roof and destroying them both in flames everytime I see this scene. It makes me smile. Look at them smiling, all happy to ruin lives. I hope Doomsday punches a hole through them. Clark is pissed, Lois is pissed, I'm pissed, my dog is pissed, John McCain is pissed. Scene ends with Clark staring at her.

Commercial Break. Skittles - Taste the Rainbow. I guess thats better than "Skittles - Like M&Ms, Only Fruity."

No sir! I don't drink!

Oh. I thought you meant alcohol. I didn't think you meant…

Everything? Well, yeah. Everything.

You don't drink anything at all?

No.

Aren't you thirsty?

OH GOD YES!

Outside Patio. Lois grabs a bottle of Champaign and takes a swig. About 4 million fans around the United States do the same. Over walks the Green Jerkass smirking like he just did something weird to Clark's mailbox. Maybe I'm being too hard on him. Maybe he didn't want to bring Lana back but she forced him to with her vampire eyes. After some gentle egging, Lois relents and actually pours out her feelings in front of him in what was one of the best scenes of the season. What makes this scene is Erica Durance. She was always the best actress comedic wise but she is really pulling out all the stops with the emotional scenes this season. Here you get yet another glimspe of the depth of her feelings for Clark and just how much Lana's appearence has shook her. There have been so many of these and I hope the writers even it out in the second half of the season with Clark confessing his feelings more in emotional scenes. Bonus points for Oliver deciphering that she was speaking of Clark, but he still sucks eggs. Great scene here. Loved it. The quiet setting around them really allows you to get pulled into how Lois is feeling. Using Oliver was a great choice by the Producers.

Loft. I don't even know what the hell this song is but I hate it already. Tess or Lex himself has text'd Lana asking if Oliver bought her horrendous lie earlier. Oh what do we have here? Miss secrets and lies hasn't changed one bit. Clark walks up the stairs and stares at her. If looks could kill.

"Chloe's glad you came. I could have used some warning." - Clark Kent, 8:43PM

I myself could have used some Pepto Bismol.

Clark wants to know why she came back and the Grim Reaper dodges the question by saying that she heard about the Red and Blue blur. I look over at my dog and then back at the TV then back at my dog. He looked disgusted and so did I. Clark isn't buying what she's selling either and continues to give her a stone cold look. The only time he briefly looks hurt is when she told him that she was glad that she left. More whispery talk. Oh shut up Lana. Can I skip this scene and go on the next one? Fine! I'll continue, you don't have to yell. Clark tells her that Chloe doesn't know the secret anymore and implies that he wish he had done the same to her. After she goes on and on about how knowing the secret has made her life better and after hearing all he needed to hear from her, Clark confirms that its all over in a voice that is way too calm. In fact, during this whole scene he is way too calm. I sense anger underneath it all but he doesn't let it out, he just keeps his calm. It takes a big man to do that. Personally I would just kick her ass out of barn and released my dog on her. The sound of the crowd chanting for Chimmy to kiss (looks like it was actually 15 dollars a head) breaks up the talk and Clark looks back and seems satisfied and ready to go back down and join the party.

Hello. What's your name?

I'm Doomsday.

Nice to meet you. I'm a Giraffe. Why don't you come back when you want to be a grown up..

Let the toilet paper cutting commence, baby yeah! Chimmy takes a slice while Clark applauds from behind. He moves and notices that the punch in the punch bowl is rippling. There's the Vulvo sound again, this time with thumping. The reception music stops. Everyone turns as the lights flicker on and off and the score turns eeeevil. My heart still races when I see this scene. More thumping, more growling until the roof freakin caves in. Dude, did he jump through the roof? Yes he did! A big piece of the loft stairs falls out of nowhere and just plows into Lana. YES!! FINISH HER!!! Clark runs over to help her, like I knew he would. Doomsday pops up in the shadows and just goes to work on this poor party. This scene is a lot funnier when you listen to "let the bodies hit the floor" in the background as you watch it. He walks over and kicks a table full of stuff through the wall. Its like Rosie O'Donnall was giving a striptease- everybody is screaming and running the opposite direction.

...Everybody but Clark, Chloe, Jimmy, and Camera Guy.

Why. Why. Just tell me why would you stand there and watch this beast come at you without trying to run. Give me one reason why you'd do that. What do you think he's coming to do? Save the whales? Socialize medicine? RUN!!

One idiot actually pulls out his cell and starts calling for help. I think I have the transcript of the call right here.

CHARLIE! HELLO?! CHARLIE!? CAN YOU HEAR ME? HAH? CAN – YOU – HEAR - ME?! YEAH! You're breaking up! Listen! I'm on my cell phone. Dude! I'm a freakin extra! Yeah! On Smallville or whatever. Yeah! I'm a extra, baby! Extra in da heeee-owwwsss! Hey. Look. Let me go. Doomsday said no phones and I think he heard me. He's walking over with a shovel. Listen. I'll call you tomor…AHHHHHHHH!

I understand Clark's dilemna here. Using his powers here would reveal his secret to everybody. So he stands guard in front of everybody and lets Doomsday come to him. Trying to be badass, he delivers a right hook that gets caught by Doomsday's massive hand. Then with his free arm, Doomsday flings him upwards toward the loft. That damn Kryptonite that Chloe was holding earlier is now exposed and renders him useless. Run you fools! Camera Guy is caught and squshed as Doomsday throws down the camera. Instead of screaming "Take her! Not me!" Jimmy gets the brilliant idea to defend his wife from a monster. IDIOT!!! Yowsa! Doomsday cut him up BAD. I winced the first time I saw this. Next up is Chloe who Doomsday grabs by the neck. YES!! FINISH HER!!! All of this is HER fault!!

"Chloooooeeeeeeeee..." Doomsday, 8:51PM.

Just what the hell was that about!?

Lana does something useful for once and boxes the GreenK next to Clark. Oliver, who I nominate as the smartest man on this show, runs to tell Clark that Chloe is gone. He and Lois stayed outside until they heard the thing leave. Clark looks stunned, everyone else looks pensive, I myself am smiling. Does that make me evil?

Commercial break. Let me get this straight.. body spray will make me play football sexier?!

Things I Will Never Understand In Life

1. Why people were afraid of Chucky

2. Why Jeff Goldblum says "uh" after every three words

3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu_moia-oVI

4. Why Madonna has never heard of Invisalign

5. Why Lana has not been banned from having Medical Insurance

Metropolis General. Clark looks around at all the damage. Let this be a lesson to all who are considering barn weddings. Things do happen ya know. He sees the dragon lady and clues her in on the search for Chloe. Lois walks past the room at the worst possible time but turns around and waits until Clark comes into the hallway. Who cares if Lana's leg is hurt? Leave the skunk alone to her misery, Clark.

He gets up and sees Lois in the hallway. Jimmy is getting worse and has to be evacuated to Star City. When Lois says she's going with him, Clark looks up in surprise. She tells him that she's waiting there until she hears from Chloe but she is talking to and about Clark, not just Chloe. She asks why do these strange things keeping happening to them. Good question, I'm glad someone on the show finally asked it. Clark, obviously knowing the answer has to do with his secret, hugs her for comfort when he sees that she is about to crack with tears. He promises to get Chloe back but she isn't sure they can. Clark, I know you have to know that she's talking about getting back that "moment" you two were about to share.

Slow motion walk from Lois. I think this is a first for Clois, in a season of a lot of firsts really. Guys do not stand and watch a woman walk away from them for no reason. I know that he couldn't have said "I'll go with you", because who else can save Chloe but him? But maybe he should have gave into what he was feeling and told her he'll miss her, or maybe walk with her to the chopper. One last look from Lois for 3 months. I HATE LANA. Clark looks like someone just kicked him in the gut hard, I bet he stood there for a good minute afterwards.

Lana sits all alone in her room, in pain. Foreshadowing much? Good. Lois walks behind Jimmy toward the helicopter. Doomsday carries Chloe to the Fortress of Solitude and lays her on an alter. Now reinfected, Brainiac smiles at a job well done in what had to be one of the creepiest smiles I've ever seen on the show. Neo looks at wedding footage aboard the Nebuchadnezzar. Er- I mean Lex looks at the wedding footage hooked up to wires. Well I'll be damn. Fantastic. What a cliffhanger. That begs the question, who found the wedding camera and sent the footage to Lex?

What a awesome episode, and what a way to close out the year. I've fallen in love with it. It took a while but I'm there. It started out as lighthearted and funny but progressively got darker until it was heartwrenching at the end. I actually feel for all these characters now. Well... except Lana.

Clark took some steps emotionally tonight. First by opening up much more to a new possibility with Lois. Later by being a little cold to Lana, although by the end of the episode he had softened and started to show kindness to her. I still hope, and this is hope like you wouldn't believe, that the writers do not make him her lap dog any further in this series. Make him strong against her. Just because she is back doesn't mean he has to change for her. I also want some distance between the two of them just in case. I didn't get a romantic vibe from the two of them, and I'd like it to stay that way. Now that Clana has had "the talk", I want it to be dropped. Let Lana do her thing and let him do his. This is the most crucial season for Clark, remember that writers. No one comes before Clark.

The episode's MVP has to be Erica Durance who displayed some major acting chops tonight. She's been superb this season but tonight she was on another level. There has never been an episode that displayed her softer side more than this one. Lois doesn't look as tough as nails anymore. On the contrary. Her defenses have been broken down by Clark even if he doesn't realize it. I can only wonder how she will react to him when she returns. I am not one that wants to see her go back to her season 4 bantering with Clark, nor do I want to see her ignore her feelings. But I do want the writers to show things from Clark's side more in the second half, and a little less from Lois' side. Lois' feelings have already been made crystal clear. She was in a lot of the earlier scenes but I still wish she hadn't disapeared for a 2-3 scene stretch toward the end before the hospital scene. Fantastic sendoff though. Well deserved.

Oliver I felt could have been used a smidge better and I wonder why he wasn't in the scene when Doomsday crashed the party. I know he's ineffective as far as a threat to Doomsday but he could have been shown helping people escape or something. I still don't like that he brought back that nutjob of a woman. But I have to feel that since he now knows how much Lois loves Clark that he'll feel pretty bad about bringing Lana back. I also thinks this puts Oliver in a interesting position. I assume he will be the middle man to any Lois' news that we'll hear over the next 4 episodes. Hopefully he can be used as someone Clark could talk to about Lois. Big props to JH for his scene with Clark in his Jet, he really brought the tears for that one.

Lana is Lana and thats all I think I should say about her. Well I'll say this. So far its the same drama. Femme fatale, double agent, or whatever else the producers desire her to be. Do I think she's being forced to do Lex's bidding by Tess? Yes I do. Does that make me like her any more though? No. I still find her to be the coniving, scheming brat that she always was. Prove me wrong, writers. Every since she got with Lex she's been out of her mind. I don't trust her, and don't want her anywhere near Clark. I can't believe this is a woman who will take on a minor confidante role in Clark's future. She's becoming her future self though, so much that its scary.

Chloe's been the least maturer out of she and Jimmy the entire season and her web of deceit has finally caught up with her. I can't say I feel sorry for her that much, but I do feel sorry for Jimmy who is suffering in a hospital because of it. Her Brainiac arc is the biggest arc she's ever been in involved in and it looks like its about to come to a head. Now that she doesn't know Clark's secret I don't think she'll have as important a role to play after her Brainiac arc is over. Her dynamic with Clark is completely different now. I'd say that now Lois is firmly more closer to Clark than Chloe is.

As far as Jimmy goes, though I felt they wasted him throughout the season, the Chimmy in this episode was quite possibly the best I've ever seen and I felt they were geniunely happy to be married to each other. I have to think that with how superstitious Jimmy was at the start of this episode, it'll lead to him thinking that what happened with Doomsday is a sign of some kind that being with Chloe is bad news. When he wakes up I think he'll be a somewhat toughened character who won't take nonsense from Chloe anymore. I think their marriage is over as soon as he sees her.

Davis was severely underused in Bride. Never should this guy be given one scene in any episode. SW really delivered in the one scene he got though. He and the producers were right, the Doomsday arc is the darkest arc we've ever gotten on Smallville.

The Clois was incredible and I think it sets the stage for the second half arc of Clark pursuing Lois and them finally getting together near the end. All of this heartache for Lois is not going to stick, she and all the fans will be rewarded. Be patient everyone and let the story play out. Its only 10 episodes into the season and you have to know that this is a love that the producers want to build up for the entire season with care. Lana was used to stall Clois from getting together in a relationship but this is only temporary. Clark is more hardened to Lana now and I don't see them ever getting back to being lovey-dovey with each other.

The Doomsday massacre didn't live up to my personal expectations but then again I wanted a bloodbath. His only objective was to kidnap Chloe and only a few people actually got killed. Obviously I would have loved a longer fight with Clark. I don't see how expensive it would have been for Clark to swing a couple of times, maybe duck a punch or two before getting knocked out. I really did enjoy what little I saw of the custume and it was hella exciting to finally see Doomsday in live form. The show has a real gem here but it must capitalize on this moment and continue to build Davis/Doomsday up. I need to see what Brainiac's objectives are for him. I need to see a plan in action, a purpose for his madness. If thats expanded upon (and I think it will be in the next episode), that could be the thing that sets up the second half showdown with Clark.

Great episode, great comedy, great romance, was disapointed in the Doomsday/Clark showdown, but the episode had a killer cliffhanger. I give this one a 9.

My rankings of the first half of the season:

Identity - High 10 (in my top 10 for the series)
Committed - 10.
Bloodline - High 9
Bride - Mid 9
Prey - Mid 9
Instinct - Low 9
Plastique - Low 9
Odyssey - High 8
Abyss - Low 7
Toxic - High 6

Thanks to everyone who always go out of their way to let me know how much they enjoy my satire reviews. It really means a lot and I always appreciate all of you. I look forward to entertaining you all some more in 8 weeks. Until then, Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Know what to give thanks for? Yep, you guessed it- Lana.

My god does anybody actually read all that?? lol.

I thought it was one of the better episodes. I'm hoping they kill Chloe off now, I've had enough of the character and I don't think they can take it any further. Hopefully that in turn will be another catalyst to Clark becoming Superman.

7/10

Oh yeah hated the convenient kryptonite falling out of the desk bit just to save on blowing the budget on a bit of a fight.

Open - TGI Fridays:

Al Gough walks in and approaches a table near the bar

Miles Millar: Happy Thanksgiving Al! How are you? I haven't heard for you in a week.

Gough: So, you see we can leave the end open. Because the Mummy babies are out there somewhere.

So like I was saying, Grant Gabriel- it'll be huge.

The check's on it's way!

Personally I think she just wanted to stop him from walking too damn fast. More army speak to "Goldielocks" before she again meets up with a guy who is walking a little damn fast. Why is everybody in a rush to marry Chimmy. What is wrong with these people? This guy almost takes his head off merely wrapping the strap of the camera over his shoulder. Why am I finding it so believeble that he is a friend of Jimmy's? Lois refuses to ring that bell and I burst out laughing everytime she saids it.

Jimmy is called Baby bear" and my memory may be off but.. after the Mama and Papa bear found Goldielocks still asleep in the bed of baby bear didn't they eat her!? What is Lois trying to imply here? Oh what the hell am I talking about. Moving on. Jimmy stops Lois from walking under a ladder because its bad luck. Oh, Jimmy. Jimmy begans to pimp Clois and of course cue the denial.

Jimmy is still freaking out about bad luck and Chloe is a little too confident that everything is going to turn out fine.

Call us.

Clark:Ok guy..

I can see why he wouldn't want to disapoint Chloe but really it would take but a few mins so why not? Ominous warning from Oliver about Lex being more dangerous now than ever ends this scene and changes Clark's mind afterall. He agrees to get the router for Oliver leading us to..

How Chloe Got Fired From Her Job As a Grief Counselor

Hello. Sadness Hotline. This is Chloe. I'm not a meteor freak. How can I help you?

Yes. My friends just died in a car accident yesterday.

Uh oh! Well what do we have here? You got that whole Harry Potter thing going on. What do we have here? Huh? Lord Valtamore done and killed your friends. What are ya gonna do about that, Harry? Put a spell on him?

I beg your pardon? M, m, my best friends just died, Miss.

Hang on. I'm not done. You gonna put a spell on me? Huh? Ala kazam! Hocus Pocus GreenK Locusts! Send the GreenK down from the heavens to…

Click

Ha! Quick thinking Clark pulls out a flower Chloe gave to him in Tempest.

This is the same woman who was tackled and tasered by a geek in Action last season.

The plan was this: dance as fast as humanly possible to this slow song.

::Thinks of the last three seasons of Chlark:: Well I'm over it already.

Lois was nervous and wouldn't get too close and only glances were exchanged for a few moments. When the random guy bumped them into each other it finally forced her to really look at each other.

Commericial Break.

Bonus points for Oliver deciphering that she was speaking of Clark but he still sucks eggs. Great scene here. Loved it. The quietness and setting around them really allows you to get pulled into how Lois is feeling.

I'd just kicked her ass out of barn and released my dog on her. The sound of the crowd chanting for Chimmy to kiss (Looks like it actually 15 dollars a head) breaks up the talk and Clark looks back and seems satisfied and ready to go back down and join the party.

Hello. What's your name?

I'm Doomsday.

Nice to meet you. I'm a Giraffe. Why don't you come back when you want to be a grown up..

Let the toilet paper cutting commence, baby yeah! Chimmy takes a slice while Clark applauds from behind. He moves and notices that the punch is rippling. There's the Vulvo sound again, this time with thumping. The reception music stops. Everyone turns as the lights flicker on and off and the score turns eeeevil. My heart still races when I see this scene. More thumping, more growling until the roof freakin caves in. Dude, did he jump through the roof. Yes he did! A big piece of the loft stairs falls out of nowhere and just plows into Lana. YES!! FINISH HER!!! Clark runs over to help her, like I knew he would. IDIOT!!!

Lois walks past the room at the worst time possible but turns around and waits until he comes into the hallway. Who cares if her leg is hurt, leave the skunk alone to her misery.

He gets up and sees Lois in the hallway. Jimmy is getting worse and has to be evacuated to Star City. When Lois says she's going with him, Clark looks up in surprise. She tells him that she's waiting there until she hears from Chloe. But she is talking to and about Clark.. not just Chloe. She asks a very good question of why does these strange things keeping happening to them that I'm glad someone on the show finally asked. Clark, obviously knowing the answer is him, hugs her for comfort at seeing her about to crack with tears. But.. I don't think Lois hugged him back. He promises to get Chloe back but she isn't sure. Clark, I know you have to know that she's talking about getting back that "moment" you two were about to share.

Slow motion walk from Lois. I think this is a first for Clois, in a season of a lot of firsts really. Guys do not stand and watch a woman walk away from them for no reason. I know that he couldn't have said "I'll go with you" because.. who else would save Chloe? But maybe he should have gave into what he was feeling and told her he'll miss her, or maybe walk with her to the chopper. One last look from Lois for 3 months. I HATE LANA. Clark looks like someone just kicked him in the gut hard, I bet he stood there for a good minute afterwards.

Lana sits all alone in her room, in pain. Foreshadowing much? Good. Lois walks behind Jimmy toward the helicopter. Doomsday carries Chloe to the alter of the Fortress of Solitude. Lana, thats who. She's the only one who was there who makes sense.

What a awesome episode, and what a way to close out the year. I've fallen in love with it. It took a while but I'm there. It started out as lighthearted and funny but progressively got darker until it was heartwrenching at the end. I actually feel for all these characters now. Well... except Lana.

The episode's MVP has to be Erica Durance who displayed some major acting chops tonight. She's been superb this season but tonight she was on another level. There has never been an episode that displayed her softer side more than this one. Lois doesn't look as tough as nails anymore. On the contrary. Her defenses have been broken down by Clark even if he doesn't see it.

I also want some distance between the two. I didn't get a romantic vibe from the two of them tonight at all, and I'd like it to stay that way. Now that Clark has had "the talk" I want it to be dropped. Let Lana do her thing and let him do his. This is the most crucial season for Clark, remember that writers. No one comes before Clark.

Her Brainiac arc is the biggest arc she's ever been in involved in and it looks like its about to come to ahead.

I have to think with how superstitious Jimmy was at the start of this episode will lead to him thinking what happened with Doomsday is a sign of some kind that being with Chloe is bad news.

Great episode, great comedy, great romance, not so good action, but a killer cliffhanger.
I give this one a 9.

Hey Fallen One, Cedric/Mr. Popular:

You know me, Cedric. I am not good with words. So here goes:

As usual, your review was fantastic! All of your reviews and posts are outstanding. You are a very gifted writer. Your review is funny and comical. That's why I call you Cedric the Entertainer because you have a great sense of humor and you like to entertain the Kryptonsite fans.

Speaking of Cedric, not too long ago in one of the Clark/Lois Relationship threads, you said that Cedric means "leader." I looked up your name in the computer to see what else it means, and Cedric also means "chief," and it also means "lord of wars." I am not joking. "Lord of Wars?" No, that can't be right! That's got to be wrong! You're much too kind for that. :rotfl:

When I'm feeling depressed, I read your reviews and it cheers me up. You always put a smile on my face, and your reviews make me laugh.

Oh, and by the way, Cedric. You told me you were going to use one of my ideas in one of your introductions. That hasn't happened yet.

Happy Thanksgiving, Cedric.

Yep, I just finished :D

I've got to say Cedric your reviews are amazing and I loved this one. You made me laugh with regards to the garter scene, I thought I was the only one so baffled/amused by that scene

I absolutely agree with everything you said, fantastic review! :D

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Cedric. And to everybody, for that matter!

Well worth the patient and not so patient waiting. Thanks for not giving in to your first emotions and finishing this herculean effort. Just for that, there's a whole table of pie with your name written all over it.

My question is how could anybody NOT read every single word of Cedric's reviews? They're worth their weight in silver, gold, lead, aluminum, platinum and Kryptonite.

Why. Why. Just tell me why would you stand there and watch this beast come at you without trying to run. Give me one reason why you'd do that. What do you think he's coming to do? Save the whales? Socialize medicine? RUN!!

made me laugh so hard, I scared the cat.

Gough: ..Stupid Superman mythos.

Miles: Right there with ya. Who the hell thinks thats going to draw ratings!? Without Lana the show is dead.

Gough: Right on. Seriously what would Clark Kent be without Lana Lang? Nothing. She made him...
Waiter: OK. I'll get your drinks and come back for your appetizer orders. Oh. Before I go, is Tom Welling around!? He's such a dream.

Gough: Who?
I cant help, but I need to say: It would be so funny... If I had not a suspicion, you wrote exactly what Millar and Gough were thinking about this show. :\

On the other hand:

That's got to be wrong! You're much too kind for that. :rotfl:

The three constant meanings I come upon are leader, chief, or ruler. But they all mean the same in its Celtic origin. I have never came upon anything like Lord of Wars, that is crazy. You sure that was for Cedric? Sounds more like the meaning of Clana.

And that idea that you gave was to do a musical themed satire with one of my reviews. It will be done later this season.

I've got to say Cedric your reviews are amazing and I loved this one. You made me laugh with regards to the garter scene, I thought I was the only one so baffled/amused by that scene

Thanks Amalie, yeah that scene totally took me aback. So much so that I rewinded it a couple of hundred times. Yowsa. I guess they were trying to amp up the sex appeal? But Chloe has rarely been that forward. Shocking. Good shocking, but shocking.

Oh it was a slight slip of the fingers, and your name is now bolded. Wouldn't want to make an Italian woman upset.:D

And we all have have did tried to do the moonwalk. I still do it from time to time. I'm pretty good at it on the right surface. Anyway, I've just noticed something about Bride. Is it just me or does a Lois part miss? She announced the newlyweds in the video, with Clark behind her and no Lana. Yet, in the other version Lois was out talking to Oliver and Clark was there with Lana. Hmm.

Speaking of mannequins, whats with these department stores making mannequins so life-like these days? I almost asked one out the other day until I saw that it wasn't blinking, talk about embarassing. But its not my fault because the thing was actually moving.

"Is this your version of help, because it seems a little personal to me." - says the pyscho dressed in all black who flew to a foreign country just to stand in the shadows of sweatshop, jumping out of nowhere to kick people in the back of the head, 8:29PM

I kinda zoned out during Lana's lecture.

I loved the non verbals between Clark and Lois also. <3

Really good scene here. I have to give SW props for how he sold all of this. Why weren't there more scenes of him in this episode? There should have been at least two. Its a travesty.

I agree!

Speaking of travesty, Chimmy is dancing, apparently after being married.

Yay! <3 <3 <3

The Chlark dance was lovely. I'd have liked a little more conversation.

Oh Clois slow dance. <3

I enjoyed the review Cedric. I do think that Lois was upset about Chloe at the end. Talking about Clark at that moment would have been so callous IMO. Maybe the writers put a hint of double meaning in for the viewers but... for Lois herself I think she was upset about the attack and kidnapping.

One of their best ever. I love the Lois & Clark dynamic-- they have great chemistry, without being mushy. When Lois dropped the double entendre about the cuff link I laughed so hard I almost choked! The look on her face when she realized what she had said...! And then Clark picked that moment to read out Jimmy's romantic wedding vows; I swear, he understood what Lois was subconsciously thinking, and did it to let her knew he understood. So sweet!

I think these two really get each other. They have a bond. Clark insists that Lois dance with him. It's like he's reading her mind... like he knows this girl as well as she knows herself. So romantic!

But I also think it was appropriate that Lana appeared on the scene to break the bond. The show can't move too fast with the Lois & Clark. That's for the future.

The wedding itself was sweet. Chloe just beamed-- when AM turns on the megawatt smile, she just glows. And then the super-melodramatic ending. It's the Creature from the Black Lagoon! Carrying off the bride, all dressed in white! That was absolutely great. And a cliffhanger, to boot!

My first post. Had to de-lurk to praise this one.

First, Thanks Time-Warner or local CW affiliate for the crap transmission. I ended up having to rewatch on the regular feed instead of hi def.

Loved Lois and Clark. Loved the Cloverfield wedding vid. Loved the grin on Chloe's face at the end.

Lana was okay .. at least Clark didnt get all doey eyed. Liked that they r keeping the wraps on Doomsday.

Dont need any Lex teasers ... dont need to see Lex period. Havent missed him for a second.

Hated that the next ep is Jan. 15 ... a lot!

I gave a 10 it was a great episode.

All the actors and actress did a great job.

Doomsday looked good for a TV show but wouldnt do good in a movie. Alot better job was done on him, then say any SCI-FI channel movie monsters, the Black fog/smoke & even the old school power ranger monsters. But he did remind of old school power rangers when I watched it when I was younger, the part was the small two second fight scene with clark and Jimmy. When he talked he reminded me of the aliens in Indepence Day, which was pretty cool.

The only part I didnt like or he looked weird was his face shot in the infected FOS. Either the camera was too close for my liking or it was the lighting. Lastly Im still hoping they dont make him a love sick monster. Right now their find were its at but if they push it any farther im gonna be disapointed.

The only parts I found completely redic was the Rent-A-Cop not running when he had the chance. If it was me I would have gotten my ass out of there. Same goes for the dumbass camera man. Was he thinking he was going ro get good wishes from doomsday to put on camera? Or did he want him to "Ring the Bell"? For their stupidity they got what they deserved.

Lastly, WHERE THE HELL IS SHELBY. I love that dog. What season did that dog even come in?

I have to say I loved the shot in the infected Fortress, I don't think the monster was really taking Chloe cuz he loves her, maybe Davis does but Doomsday is more a tool for Brainiac I think, he might have taken her there because Brainiac told him to since she was his vessel. I also think we will be getting much more fights between Clark and DOomsday and this has been only a preview to leave us craving for more hehe :)

I thought it was probably the best episode of the season so far and very well done. But I wouldn't give it a 10 or say it's one of the best ever. I still had some problems with it, especially when it's called Bride and the focus is on Lois and Clark. Don't get me wrong, I love Lois and Clark, but I think there was a little too much focus on them in this episode.

Wow. Just wow. I don't think I've ever had such an emotional reaction to something on tv, and I don't just mean with the crying and wailing in my previous post :o I mean the grab-your-gut-and-hang-on rollercoaster ride between despair and delight. So after my initial reactions had calmed down I had to rewatch the episode a few times. Apologies in advance for the length of this but I don't have any other outlets for all my Smallville blethering!

Minor points first. The farm, yay, I loved seeing it again. It scrubbed up very nicely for the wedding. No Shelby though? And there was the hospital again, like seeing an old friend - after all, we spent large parts of seasons 5-7 looking at that decor. And the blessed kryptonite! Loved it :D

Chloe was radiant, I gotta say, her dress was gorgeous and just the way she lit up through the whole wedding was very nice. The Chimmy was cute and it even made me laugh. So did the camera guy, with his "ring that bell". What made me laugh even more was Lois' k.o. The wedding video was a nice bookend to the episode, first time it sets the scene, second time is a surprise (of which more later).

Ollie was.....well, Ollie. Clark puts him in his box? Ha! Take that, billionaire! Ollie is a good friend to Lois and understanding of her? What a nice man he is! (nobody ever said I had to be rational on here, just as well!) His sidekick though...for a split second when I heard the wi-fi explanation I thought "Well duh sarah, of course! That's genius!" before I realised the router isn't even plugged in to anything. Is Clark some sort of wireless transmitter? Maybe this is an ability that developed on Offscreenville, which I really need to start watching. I would love to have known what Ollie was thinking when Clark told him about Chloe's reprogrammed memories, he didn't even bat an eyelid or anything

Now for the good stuff. Doomsday, woohoo! I know this was the Big Reveal episode but Davis was criminally underused..although the way he squished the cop was funny and creepy  Doomsday, on the other hand, I was very pleased with. The eyes, the breathing, the "Chloeeee", the violent B&E...all just great. There were 2 reasons why I liked that scene very much. First, the way the scene was shot and lit meant you could never really tell what was going on, like maybe if you could it would be even more frightening. I'm sure there will be much more of Big Bad as the season goes on. Second, Clark gets beat into next week with no major fight between the two of them. It's only episode 10 so I would prefer to see an almighty smackdown later on. I thought the violence was pretty bad - I know some people were expecting a bloodbath, and I would happily sit through some gratuitous violence (as my dvd collection would attest) but it was shocking to see the wedding go so badly wrong. Poor Jimmy, doing the instinctive-while-scared thing, trying to protect Chloe and then getting really banged up for it. I am genuinely concerned for him, I hope he'll be alright. That shot of Doomsday carrying Chloe into the Fortress was strangely romantic. Was I the only one who saw love on his/it's face when Chloiac opened her eyes and smiled? Maybe I read too much into it, or I've watched Return of the Jedi too many times. Either way, I'm assuming that Chloe's memories have returned.

I'm going to put my major gripe in here because I want my post to end happily, and my major gripe is.....Lana. (Annie, you were spot on in your post when you talked about this, I agree with everything you said) Even now, after all the changes to the show that we have loved so much, the writers are still holding Lana up as some sort of....I dunno what. I didn't think it was actually possible to dislike Lana any more than I already did, but boy I was proved wrong. Lana might be a bit 'off' but I don't bloody care; she's not dark and mysterious, she's a flipping nuisance. What makes me even more annoyed at the writers is the way that they wrote Clark's actions when he's around her. Where is the mature, pro-active guy that has been more prominent this season? I swear poor Tom looked nauseated at having to do another damn loft scene. Let me impart some wisdom to the writers: an old proverb says "Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them". In other words, PS3, learn the Lana lesson and don't become AlMiles. The scene between Ollie and Lois was well written and mature, where two people talked about matters of the heart without using any of the following words: 'trust', 'secrets' or 'lies'. Yay for non-romantic Lollie. Lois said that her feelings for Clark just snuck up on her and she tried to ignore them but she couldn't - that's proper love, not any of that 'from the first moment I saw you' melodrama that seems to accompany Lana.

Ok, rant over. Now for the really good stuff, which is the Clois ;) I have watched SV since it started and I was never a shipper...till now! And I happily took leave of my senses and composure whenever these two were on screen together. There were so many magical little moments - Lois touching Clark's suit, asking Chloe about knowing who is The One, the look on her face when Clark gave Chloe the flower. I think Lois is lovin' her some Clark! Aw, the cufflinks scene....Lois' hilarious faux pas and subsequent embarassment. Clark checking her out in a big way...I think Clark is lovin' him some Lois! Damn him for raising her hopes and then dashing them, all in about 10 seconds. And the look on Lois' face when she heard those words... I'm convinced if Clark had asked her to marry him then, she would've said yes. Then there was the dance....be still my beating heart. Lois, afraid of herself, runs away but Clark pulls her back (heart skips a beat!). Here's an interesting thing - everybody, me included, had their own theory on how this scene would play out, what Clark and Lois would say to each other, but major props to the writers for the complete lack of dialogue in this scene. I have not seen a more beautifully acted scene in my life! They're so close, and moving towards each other...I have only held my breath that tightly once, and that was during the car chase in Bourne Supremacy. Aaaaaah! Could Chloe not have kept her mouth shut for one more minute?? Lois' pain and hurt was very hard for me to watch. Sweetie, I've been there so many times I'm setting up a stall to sell the t-shirts. He'll see how wrong that badly-coiffed lady is for him! I sorta understand why Lois left - she was hurt by the man she loved and rather than stay and be pummelled repeatedly, she is protecting herself. But that song! *runs off to download it* The 'goodbye Clark' look on Lois' face as she walks away with such dignity...weeping all over my keyboard! I never thought I'd say this but at that moment... I disliked Clark a bit. I mean, I tuned in to SV cos I'm a massive Supes fan, and his story is what keeps me going through love triangles and witches and bad writing. But honestly, I was so annoyed at the Lana-lovin-Clark! He better mention Lois when she's gone or I will be very unhappy.

Finally, Leeeeeeeex! Who'd have thunk the writers would have the cahunas to sneak that bit in there? They spin you along with other stories and then BAM! I'm still so shocked I don't know what to say, but when I've recovered my conspiracy instincts will kick in and I'll ramble liberally on all the Lex threads. In the meantime, I'm getting 'What would Clark do?' t-shirts printed

'Bride' is now one of my favourite episodes. Yeah I know it's not perfect, but even though I was completely spoiled, it was better than I thought it could be. What made it even more special for me was the fact that there were thirty-seven pages of posts on the countdown thread before the episode was even on. If all that excitement could somehow be bottled and handed out, no-one on this planet, or any other, would ever be miserable again :D

I have to say... this season gets better and better. The Clark - Lois relationship is starting to shift towards the romantic side (and I love this). I'm a hopless romantic.:o

I would have definately loved if they actually kissed (on purpose, whithout any influence from meteor rocks, "red" lipstick or whatever), and Lana was like a thorne in the you know what when she appeared, but it does give more room for Clark to realize what he wants (or not). He has to "grow up", to stop being a scaredy-cat :D

Erica's performance in this season was amaizing and I will certainly miss her in the following episodes when she will be missing. I'd love to have her in every single episode...

Also I have to agree that Erica can't just give herself to Clark. He HAS to fall deeply, madly, passionately in love with her first. He has to win her over. In real life you don't just get the girl you want. Where are the moments when he falls in love with her in this episode (or others before)? Just a look when she comes down the stairs?

I am the first to admit that Erica as Lois NEVER made any sense to me in the past. It was a bit the writer's fault as Lois shouldn't have a small role. She has to be a season regular. Except this season changed Erica in my eyes. Her character and her acting has gotten so much better. So writers keep up the good job (if by accident you're reading this). :D

L.E.
P.S. Cedric you rock! Keep up the good storytelling :D

I agree with you to an extent. I don't know if Welling looked nauseated... it seemed as though he played Clark with some rage -- calm rage, but rage, none-the-less. He seemed to really be going, "It's over. But what the hell happened?" And who could blame him for that?

I do agree that PS3 seem to be falling into the same traps with Lana that AlMiles did. The mysterious text; the convo about "secrets"; Lana's under-handed dig at him being a super-hero, finally; her Lana-fu getting the best of the GA (meaning, she's actually a better super-hero than the Green Arrow); and the fact that they had Clark's focus on Lana too much during the destruction scene and the follow-up at the hospital.

I didn't mind Lana too much, but these things stuck out at me, as well. I am interested to see how they play the next 4 episodes, but chances are pretty high that these sorts of things are only going to increase - not decrease. They've always had a tendency to write Lana like a victim/Mary Sue & I wonder, sometimes, if they are capable of writing Lana as anything else.

I am a huge Lois Lane fan, but I agree. Durance's acting was a bit choppy early on. There were moments she kicked it out of the park, but other episodes where she was a bit awkward. (I remember scenes where she would deliver her dialogues like Lois was on speed.)

Last season, I noticed that she started relaxing a bit and played Lois a bit softer. (Mainly because they started letting Lois be softer.) And, this season, she's been knocking it out of the park. Every episode gets better and better -- alll culminating to this episode, where the burden was on her to run through a gauntlet of emotions without much dialogue.

My husband has never been a fan of hers, but - this season - he's been commenting that she's a good actress. When he saw the scene with Ollie, he actually said (again), "This actress is really good now. They should focus on her so much more."

I totally agree. I think it is because Lois, this season, has become a main character in the stories and the episodes. So , Erica has a lot more time to develop her character and actually act. In previous seasons, Erica was in the show but as a minor person, which is kind of funny, because her character is one of the most important characters in my opinion, in the Superman mythology. Due to this fact, I do not think Erica spent a lot of time on developing Lois, but now, since Lois is a main character, she has no choice. Way to go Erica. Remember, just my opinions

I gave this episode a 10, I loved everything about it.

* Doomsday was awesome, and looked great!
* Clark and Lois' scenes were fantastic
* Oliver and Lois had a great scene together
* Lana's return was pretty cool and there is a little mystery behind it
* Erica Durance was fantastic in this episode, probably one of her best performances on the show. She Showed a very vulnerable side to Lois that only made her even hotter.
* One thing that really surprised me was the conversation between Clark and Lana. Both characters came off very adult and it was a pleasant surprise. I am very interested in how PS3 are going to handle their story.
* Chloe's creepy smile was awesome
* Loved the song in the last few minutes of he show
* WOW talk about a Cliffhanger!

I gave it a 8. I finally got around to watching it and I really enjoyed it.

Some things I thought were pretty amazing were all the Clois moments. Some of the interactions were the sweetest on the show. As I said, I didn't start rooting for Clois until later S6/S7. The dancing scene was incredibly sweet. The writers are doing an excellent job with the relationship.

I also enjoyed the ending with Chloe in the fortress. It was definetly surprising, to say the least. The evil little smile was a nice touch.

And I actually like the Lana plot. My only problem is with her interferring with Lois & Clark. However, I find her plot interesting. I always enjoy a dark Lana more than the sticky sweet one.

All and all this episode reminded me a lot of "Gemini" last season. There are a few cliffhangers and a few suprises (Lana's story, Jimmy, Chloe, etc).

I enjoyed the episode overall.

I did a video after Abyss which is here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFzG7kL1XGk). Altho this is not an actual review, but it does mention Abyss, but more to do with Bride itself.

I am planning on doing a review for Legion after I have watched that. I may do more reviews of Smallville episodes until the finale. If you guys like what you see, let me know.

Don't even mention the Emerald Archer. He's the tool that thought it would be a good idea to fly Lana back to Smallville. He even talked her into it by invoking the WWCD (What Would Clark Do)?

What would Clark do? Oh yes, he would definitely crash a wedding reception at Clark's pad without any advanced warning because he only thinks about himself and not the effects his actions would have on others.

Just a hint, Lana: Break up in person and follow-up with a video letter, not the other way around...

Despite the agony of the kiss that almost was and Lois leaving, I'm still loving Bride after the *cough, cough* time.

PS3 continues to kill the show for me, we got see more of the farce of a relationship the writers are attempting to force b/w Lois and Clark (IMO, trying to simply copy the Lois and Clark series from the 90s), the only slight upside was some mild carnage created by Doomsday. I do hope Chloe will regain all her memories from this latest encounter with Doomsday/Brainiac.

In my opinion, Lois, Doomy, Ollie, Jimmy, Clark and Chloe ( Thats my order from best to worst)was great and awesome. The worst was Lana! She just bored me to death! She was the least exciting and i choose the power "freedom of choice" and hit the mute on my remote just as i fast foward her scenes on dvd! I never though that Clana had any chermisty in the whole 8 years of the show! I tried to give her a chance because even though i hate her character, KK is usually an ok actress but bride, i felt embrassed for her because they tried to make her seem remorseful and intellgent and you can see right through the fakeness that she is not!

Season Eight has made me a Smallville fan again. This ep was really good. It could have been so sappy and sentimental. Instead it was funny and fast-paced. I loved that there was no drama about whether they would actually get married. They got that out of the way before the credits. Really good writing this season.

unfocused
11-26-2008, 07:52 PM
I agree. The writers handled this pretty well. With it being a wedding episode, it didn't get too sappy. It stuck with the comedy and chemistry between Clark and Lois while making it apparent that Chloe and Jimmy do love each other very much. With Lois and her emerging feelings, there was a thin line that could have made this episode unbearable in the emotion department.

The last few minutes was a good cliffhanger. I'm not totally sure about why "Lex" was hooked with all those wires though. Am I missing some info? Was that Lana's doing? Guess that's why they call it a cliffhanger :)

I thought it was pretty obvious he was hooked up to something to keep him alive. I mean ****, two tons of Ice landed on him.

I thought Doomsday looked better than I thought he would look.

The obvious rip off of Clover Field worked better than I thought.

I still think the Clois is moving WAY to fast. I mean, it helped that Lois said "It snuck up on me". But what about Clark?? I think it wouldve helped if he had talked to someone about his feelings also creeping up on him, but, Clark doesnt really have anyone to talk to except for Chloe.

Lex being alive was great and Lana's new look and lies seem to be great. I got a feeling shes working with Tess Mercer, but playing her to help protect Clark's secret.

I give it a 7. The ending with Doomsday and Chloe being nabbed was great, but I wasn't too happy with all the blatant Lois/Clark and that Chloe/Jimmy actually got married. I was hoping Doomsday would interrupt before they said "I Do". Plus, it didn't help that Chloe isn't Chloe anymore. And how are they going to handle the Lex thing? How can they have him in there other than in the shadows if Rosenbaum doesn't come back for a few episodes? I don't think they'd be foolish enough to try and introduce a new actor!

I liked Lana this time, though. Kudos to her for saying all the things to Clark that needed to be said!

I think it was a really good episode, Doomsday is good and they were good anough to leave him in the shadows, very nice the moments between lois and Clark, and at the end of the show i'm not really sure that was Lex, i think it can be Brainiac that is tryng control Doomsday.

Overall: 8+

I hope the show will continue this way until the end of the season with a huge fight with Doomsday in the season finale, perhaps with a "death" of Clark with lois in tears like the last page of Superman 75 last page and a Ninth year with Clark that try to hide his secret from Lois.
See you 15th January!!:D

I actually thought this was the best episode of the season. Doomsday looked amazing. I just hate to have to wait so long for the next episode.

i absolutly loved this episode it was so good! jimmy is so adorable! chloe looked gorgeous at the wedding and the last part when she and doomsday were in the fortress and she was just laying there looking at doomsday she looked pretty there! and i LOVED lois' dress because it was orange it wouldnt look good on a lot of people but she pulled it off! it seems like she could pull off everything! and how hot did tom welling look? i am sooo in love with that man! and lana's hair looked so pretty like that i love the bangs on her! but why did lana have to walk in when she did lois and clark were aboiut to kiss! FINALLY!!! grrr... i hate lana! but i love Kristen but i loved the episode sooo much!!!! it was amazing!!!! i very much like the new wrighters! but doomsday brings up a new question. in all of the comics and cartoons, doomsday kills superman. is it the end of smallville?? that would make me cry. i'm not even joking...

After I heard that Lana was coming back, I knew that she would ruin the relationship between Lois and Clark. I think that Lois and Clark are better together than Clark and Lana.

I would rate it an 8 out of 10. I wish they had worked the Lois and Clark angle a lot more. Does anyone think that they will recast Lex??

Does anyone think that they will recast Lex??I wouldn't mind if they did. They could just say his face got badly injured by the FOS collapse and he needed reconstructive surgery or something. I mean that cliche never gets old. lol

It really hurt to go back and watch the almost kiss between Lois and Clark because when you watch carefully, you notice that Lois doesn't pull away when Chloe shouts. It's only Clark. She didn't care what Chloe was so happy with at the time; she just wanted to kiss her guy, and Clark backed out. Very disappointing.

Lois needs to lose 10 years to play the young Lois and she's got the part all wrong. Lois in Smallville is supposed to be a young , early 20ish reporter starting out professional. She acts like she is a big shot when she has done nothing to show she can even work. I just think a better actress would be able to pull it off. Lois is so annoying.

I gave Bride 8/10, and that's only because amazing CLOIS moments. I love it.

But Doom is simply too plastic, it looks like a dummy...they could've done much better job with effects on that. Also, CK doesn't use any power in this episode.
And Lana is back. For a while. WHY ???!!!
Lex ending is nice...although it's kinda lame knowing that MR will maybe be there for the last episode of the last season...

Ok, first we start off with the whole thing that Lois finally realizes shes in love with Clark. But right when they're about to kiss Lana comes in and ruines the moment. DANG IT!!!!

Plus, Lois has pretty much disappeared from the show since then.

That is the worst!!!! Plus when Lana walked in and interupted the dance, and Clark turned to look at her you could almost physically see him turning into a BDA 14 year old again!!!!!

As far as I'm concerned S8 finished with this episode and is yet to start again after the Xmas break. The Clana episodes were just nightmares, they didn't actually happen.

I can't wate till they start the fight of the millenium:)
Cloe almost lived happely ever after, I feel with her:\
It's to bad that everything clark touches almost dies ore get hurt.
He's got no luck:(
But he will come back stronger and faster than ever... This time with no inhibitations(like lana cloe etc...)

I voted 9. The Doomsday entrance could have been a little bit more epic, in my opinion. It wasn't what I expected either. Still loved it though, what an amazing character!!
One of my favourite scenes was Davis' transformation scene.
All in all, fantastic episode with some great moments, especially the clois scenes.
Lana ruined the episode. I found her really anoying.

This was such an AMAZING episode. To me, it's probably the best of the whole season. THIS is what the Season 8 finale should've been like. What was there not to love about this? I mean sure, the bloody Davis scene was kinda gross, but aside from that, it was utter perfection. I really dug the format of the episode, the way they opened with that messed up video footage only giving us glimpses of what was to come, and then the terrifying ending with Chloe and Doomsday in the fortress, Chloe's reinfection by Brainiac, and a certain bald-headed observer spying on the night's events... Eek! I liked Lana Lang's return for her arc. At this point, I didn't mind at all that she was back, and really enjoyed it, since there wasn't anything romantic going on between them, and Clark still seemed so heroic and stood by his opinions. Oliver was going down a scary, dark path at this point, but it wasn't annoying at this point in time, and served to flesh out his character and his motivations a little bit more. And, of course, Chloe was the most GORGEOUS bride I've ever seen. Wow. Phenomenal episode!!!!

this is easily my favorite episode this season, followed by Committed, Bloodline, Odyssey, Doomsday, Beast and a few others...

but this had everything plus the best mid season cliff hanger and the last scene was very chilling. 10/10

It's a shame to think of it now because everything after this episode went down hill.

Hahahahahahahaha!!! I love the way you said that, Diego! And that's very true... It was Chloe's big day, but of course, she had to be overshadowed by Lois' sudden deep infatuation with Clark and Lana's dramatic return to Smallville. Oh brother...

That's a good point and I'd never thought of it so I checked the screentime minutes by Badtoad:

Episode: BRIDE, Running Time: 41m, 18s

Clark: 19m, 38s
Chloe: 13m, 7s
Lois: 16m, 4s
Jimmy: 9m, 52s
Tess:
Davis/Doomsday: 4m, 38s
Oliver: 10m, 4s

*Lana Lang: 10m, 2s

So Lois did have more screen time than the Bride, and both Lana and Ollie had more screen time than the groom. Strange, but I guess that's what happens when you have a couple of unexpected guests. But anyways, this is one of the top 5 of the season for me because I thought every one got their chance to shine.

I don't think it's implied that people ONLY liked this episode for Clois. Sure Clois getting closer was a factor in why I personally enjoyed it so much but overall, this episode had the full package! Lex being alive, Doomsday destroying the wedding, the song by vast (take my love away) with various clips and the ultimate one, Lex being alive was like a huge cliff-hanger. The only soar point of this episode was Lana's return. Other than that, I enjoyed it immensely. I also enjoyed the interactions between various character. E.G, Clark giving Chloe that flower was very sweet and great continuity. I loved the chat between Oliver and Lois. I found it a mature discussion it was great to see Oliver be a great support to Lois as a good friend. The reason why I enjoyed this episode was that it had everything. Drama, suspense, romance with a slight dash of comedy ...

<O:pI can't agree that it was more focused on Clois than the bride. Clois had its moments sure (the cufflink scene/vows, the dance, and Lois walking away from Clark<ST1:p in the end) but the Bride was not overshadowed. We saw the build up to the wedding. Clark giving her the flower, Chloe’s talk with Lois about "the one", her interaction with Jimmy about nothing going wrong, the Bride dance with the groom and the best man and of course the event that went down when the beast attacked. I'd say Chloe was pretty much at the forefront of the episode. Was it a Chloe centic episode? No that was Abyss (which I did enjoy myself) but it wasn’t Clois centric either (that would have to be Committed).

Clark giving the flower to Chloe became this bizzare moment for Lois IMO

Selina
09-06-2009, 12:10 PM
She looked confused but I think that was because she didn't know about the flower and the history behind it. She wasn't around in season 1. When Clark explained that Chloe gave it to him at the prom, she smiled. I thought it was was a very nice scene all round.

This episode marked Lana's return and her return had a negative effect. When the people were in danger from Doomsday's rampage, all Clark was thinking about was Lana more than their safety. The destruction by Doomsday in this episode was clearly better than the one from the season finale.
