Perhaps Kaito Nakamura hid the catalyst somewhere else instead of Claire.

I know Hiro only lost him memory back to when he was 10 years old, thanks to Ando interrupting Arthur.

Maybe, Kaito hid it in Hiro.
The writers kept Hiro from losing his powers or complete memory for some reason.

No. I think Arthur would be able to tell that when he touched Hiro.

Could be. But, Kaito was a crafty dude.
His power was prediction as seen in the cut scene with Ando & the newspaper.
So, he may have predicted that Claire would be mistaken as the having the catalyst in her blood.

Perhaps not, but I am just speculating ;)

True it would have been smart for Kaito to hide the catalyst in someone else other than Claire. However, I do not believe the catalyst was hidden in Claire. I think she was born with it. Her genetic makeup to heal must have been very interesting. I am sure the founders of the Company would have run into people whom share the same or similar abilities. But at the moment we only knew of Adam and Claire to have been born with the healing ability. Gabriell and Peter acquired theirs from Claire. However, what makes Claire the catalyst is in her genetic code that isn't duplicated by Peter or Gabrielle. Adam didnt have it or Arthur wouldnt have killed him, so it appears that the catalyst aspect has nothing to do with Claires healing power. In that, it makes sense why Kaito hid baby Claire with an adopted family. It would be distasterous if the worlds people could have powers. Also, when Kaito left the video for Hiro regarding the piece of the formula, he said only the light can save everyone. I think that he would have told Hiro that he was the catalyst. He didnt, he simply told Hiro to do his part and not allow the part of the formula to end up in anyone hands. Kaito had no problem helping his son become a hero why not now, it because the catalyst isnt Hiro. Save the Cheerleader, Save the World theme will come up a lot even if it isnt said directly.

My theory is, Adam was the original catalyst for giving the company powers. And now Claire is since Arthur had to steal Adam's power to heal himself while leaving one Catalyst alive.

I'm gonna say that it's Ando and not Claire, who is just a misdirection.

One thing about Heroes is, you can never really predict what they are going to do.

i have 2 theories about who the catalyst could be firstly healers in general adam/claire otherwise how could nathan or the triplets have synthetic abilities if its just claire
second is nathan could be the catalyst maybe he was the first successful test of the formula and they synthesised his blood. then maybe kaito predicted the outcome or a precog warned kaito and the formula was hidden from those who wanted to spread abilities to everyone

If she was born with it then the original catalyst must have been Adam. That didn't stop Arthur from killing him.

Claire is barely 19 in the show and her father was given the syrum.

that being said we have no idea if healing blood has anything to do with being a catalyst or not. It could be hidden in anyone. I could e a random gene sequence that unless you know what you are looking for would be missed completely.

The catalyst is Adam & Claire's blood. It's healing powers remove all the negative side effects of the transformation/evolution.

My guess is it's Ando... at least I'm hoping it is. Hiro was assigned to protect the formula, it is his "destiny". The catalyst is part of that formula. Is it a coincidence that Hiro and Ando are friends? Always together? Kaito practically treated Ando like family. I think Hiro is supposed to protect Ando, and I think their friendship was manufactured from the beginning.

This would make sense and tie into the future Hiro saw. Why would F.Ando want F.Hiro to hand over the formula? Ando tells Hiro to "Give back the formula". This means that Hiro has stolen the formula from Ando, who somehow got a hold of it. Hiro then says "You betrayed me" and Ando responds with "You're wrong". Hiro was the first to draw the sword and attack while Ando was defending himself. I think the future that Hiro saw was misinterpreted. Ando is the good guy in that scenario and Hiro is the bad guy. Obviously Ando is tied into this more than we are led to believe at the moment.

If we dig deeper into that scene, it raises a few questions. Why was Hiro taken down so easily? Why did he want the formula? Why didn't he teleport? Here's a possible answer: Future Hiro somehow lost his abilities and needs the formula to get them back. Ando is continuing to do what he thinks is right by protecting the formula. Also, in that future, Ando seems to be the only one with an ability. Again, how did Ando get tied up in all of this? Maybe he's the catalyst... or definitely a key player in this story, which means his ability is probably not synthetic at all. A new eclipse is coming, a perfect time to manifest his ability.

I do not think it is Claire for one reason - she mentioned it might be her. That would just be too obvious and too typical. The writers like to twist things around and surprise us, which completely eliminates the possibility that it is Claire.

And let's not forget that Hiro does have a sister...

Your thoughts?

I'm going to go ahead and assume it's Claire. For one, the writers don't always try to trick us. Also, it has been mentioned here and there that a very important flashback will occur showing the rooftop when Kaito handed HRG Claire that fateful day. I'm reckoning that this is when the catalyst was realized and why Claire was given to HRG, to try and hide her/it in plain sight. Remember, on that rooftop HRG is told that he is only safeguarding Claire until the Company needs her again (i.e. for the Catalyst so they can use the formula as necessary). But that's just my two cents.
