Ok I'm a little lost on how Sylar got Elle abillity. I know it had something to do with Empathy but how dose this actually work?

he basically had the same power as peter but there is a way to take the powers by force (how sylar used to do it) and to passively share powers (the way peter always has) and he has both!

Seems like he kind of got Arthur and Peter's abilities together. By force (killing them and inspecting the brain, eventually evolving into just physical contact maybe? Would explain how Arthur knew how to fight the hunger, maybe he's been through it until his power evolved) or being empathetic and absorbing the power while the original person keeps it.

A little more help here too, how did Elle control her power after he got her's?

Elle always had control of her power until she overloaded that time at Level 5 when she basically exploded in a lightning storm. So once Sylar shared her power she could control herself again.

Maybe he took on the unstable part of her power? He seemed to not be able to control it instantly, like he always does with every power he gets. Maybe it just wasn't as bad because he was still able to understand why it was malfunctioning, and eventually fix it.

sylar "likes" elle.
he felt sorry for killing elle's father.
arthur knew this.
so he "taught" sylar how to take powers or copy without taking powers.

Elle's powers were acting up because of her emotional state. Once she forgave herself for letting her dad die/turning gabriel evil and some other stuff then her powers weren't hurting her. It was like she was a cutter and sylar was her shrink...they had a GREAT session;)

Also the reason sylar doesn't have full control is he never got to SEE how it works so like peter he just takes on the ability without the know how of how it works IMO

My thought is that Sylar "fixed" her power. He figured out what was wrong with her power (that's why she was at Primatech) as he learned how her power worked, and fixed the problem.

What he/she said. Sylar true ablity is to fix things. He "fixed" Elle's.
