Wasn't it destroyed? I forget how can anyone tell me? And is Jor-El like a god or something or is it more like a automated voice-mail, how does he communicate with Clark if he's dead?

He only rebuilt the Fortress once. And it was because the Fortress collapsed back into the Crystal of Knowledge which originally formed it. Jor-El in the Fortress is an artificial intelligence program that contains the memories and will of Jor-El.

It's that advanced Kryptonian technology!

Arthur C. Clarke: "Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

The FOS is a structure (self-erecting! No construction tools required!) with an Artificial Intelligence "brain" with god-like powers that has the capability of affecting the entire Earth.

Basically, it's the "magic" part of the show, when the writers need something really out-of-regular-reality to happen.

Resurrection of the dead? No problem.
Turn back time, re-live yesterday? No problem.
Make an unscheduled total eclipse of the sun? No problem.
Re-engineer the Earth's climate so it becomes like Krypton? No problem-o.

how does it work though, how do you know all this and where can I find it, the comics perhaps?
that was in response to Vergon6

If you look at Superman Returns, Kryptonian technology massively grows whatever material happens to be around it. The FOS is essentially rapidly grown ice because it happens to be in the Arctic. If it were done in the desert, the FOS would be a sand castle.

Did they use some of the same footage from the season 5 premiere of the FOS rising?

y'know, the place the League, Tess, Luthorcorp, and some unspecified number of mercenaries have mapped out in all directions above and below ground? Sure looked like it! Fortress of Solitude? bull. That's something AlMiles Clark would do, PS3 Clark had a working brain last I checked.

Is that what we're supposed to believe?

Ha ha, I was wondering that too. I am sure that it's a slightly different location.

I hope he didn't because Tess' satellites are pointed in that direction and searching Lex's footprints all around the arctic.

HAHAHA!! Omg I didn't even think of that.

Just another 'ohhh Smallville' moment I suppose lmao. Can't question their retardedness too much, or the show isn't even worth watching xD

maybe it has a cloaking device! haha

I hope he didn't because that would be really stupid of him since Tess is on his trail and all. He probably re created it like mile and miles away.

In the comics, the fortress is not visible to anyone except superman due to an fog that constantly surrounds it, dunno if smallville adhears to to this but anyway just my two peneth.

It's not like Tess and LuthorCorp wouldn't find it somewhere else on the Artic.

it's probably not the exact same place. the arctic is pretty big after all...

actually for all we know that could have been antarctica this time around!

Well, Martha found it once, and Lex, so I guess the fog thing is not working very well.

The FOS is in it's "stealth mode":)

I doubt they could find it. Remember when Lex was sending his team of men up there after he got that orb? They all went "mysteriously" missing. I'm sure the FOS has some kind of protection.

Tess: Clark, you won't believe it. This massive ice fortress suddenly just appeared in the spot where Lex disappeared!
Clark: ...watchu talkin' about Willis?
Tess: I'm Tess.
Clark: ...watchu taklin' about Tess?

What a fascinating question. I have no idea what the answer is but I love the question.

I can see it now. Lex finally climbing out of the snow after being trapped underneath for all these weeks. Then all of a sudden *rumble, rumble, rumble* Fortress reappears and Lex is trapped underneath it again.

Hey Jeff. Did you know your teddy bear had lolipop disease? (off topic I know)

I will go on the assumption that it's in a different place until I see or hear otherwise.

No, but the terrain is very much the same in the new location.

There were two of Lex's teams that mysteriously disappeared when they flew close to the location of the Fortress. The first time Chloe went to the Fortress when it was first built, a cold wind and snow all of a sudden came and she about froze to death. Apparently the Fortress can protect itself against uninvited humans but not against aliens or computers since Brainiac has taken over.

Did anyone notice when Clark went towards the rebuilt Fortress, they showed his footprint in the snow? It reminded me that Tess has a copy of his footprint from before. This could be a foreshadowing of her finding the Fortress again.

SnowBird, I saw that too and it reminded me of Tess's copy of the footprint right away.

The location is not the real issue. We see Ice and snow which is okay, it resembles Krypton but I am more worried about the Fortress itself. I posted similar thing in another thread...

We know from previous seasons that the Fortress is visible to human eye, we see at both occasions; when Chloe follows Clark to the fortress for the first time and when Martha/Lois's plane crashes and they take cover there.

Well, it looks similar to the previous one except some minor inner changes but I was hoping if the fortress is not hidden, atleast it should have a cloaking device. Its a very sophisticated alien material, so to make it impossible for anyone (any human or computer) to track it down and/or look at it (if they somehow get close to it, we know alot of Lex's men went missing trying to get close to it). It should have some invisibility feature/s that would allow it to stay hidden. What do you guys think?

Yes. He doesn't want Lex, Tess, her employees, Oliver, Arthur, or Black Canary to lose the address.

This is the only part of the episode that disappointed me in that it appears he put it right back in the same place. In the comics it has been placed in various location from the Andes to the Amazon Rain forest.

I wished they had done that but it appears the choose to save money by just using old stock footage.

Oh well maybe next time if there is a next time.

It does not matter if the fortress is built in the same place. Humans cannot get into it (at least in smallville universe) Lex found the orbit led him to it and protected him from the fortresses defenses. Martha found it because jor-el crashed the plane she was on and brought her to it. Chloe, only was able to enter it, because she was Clark's friend and jor-el knew her. You guys are forgetting that jor-el knows everyone in Clark's life and knows what Clark's been doing (at least while the fortress has been up).

Be cool if my great great grandparents had that then I could talk to them even if they where dead. I thought Lara would become like Jor-el when Clark put that blule crystal in but she was an actual clone. Kryton technology is a picture of earth future I guess.

I hope he didn't because Tess' satellites are pointed in that direction and searching Lex's footprints all around the arctic.

If you remember, Lex needed the purple magic 8 ball to find and enter the fortress. All the teams he sent up to find it, spontaneously disappeared. I think you need to either use the key in Clark's possession, have a Kryptonian guide, or a purple magic 8 ball to find it.
