Clark is soooo stupid!

I am literally sooo angry with Clark right now. Doesn't he realize that he needs Chloe? He is too dumb to get by without her memories. Now he will just get eaten by Doomsday, and Chloe will make sweet love to Davis.

He's wiser than he was a year ago thats for sure. he doesn't need Chloe. In the past he really didn't need her he was just too lazy to do anything. I guess Lex trying to kill him put him on the right path. But he doesn't need Chloe, he prolly just loved having her around and it was someone he could confide in. she's his best friend. he loves her more than anyone can ever know. He's smarter than he was a year ago and he isnt making the same mistakes a million times over.

I think Clark and Chloe could have created boundaries in their relationship without the mind wipe. I really do. Clark saw an opportunity for an easy out and took it. I hope there are unforeseen consequences.

I don't agree that he needs Chloe to help him as Superman. He needs to dial down his use of Chloe as a problem solving tool. I won't deny that she has helped him immensely in the past and it was wonderful at times. It was also at great cost to Chloe which is NOT ok... whatever she says. Oliver is right, Clark needed to establish boundaries with Chloe... he shouldn't have sent her to confront Kara alone in "Arctic." But I think they could establish their new relationship, personally and professionally, without mind wipes.

If this had happened anytime in the last 7 years I'd agree, but this isn't the same Clark from the old show. This one has higher brain functions and could feasibly survive on his own.

I'm not thrilled about this, but I haven't liked the Chlark this season anyway, this season is all about "iconic" "Clois" "destiny" blah blah blah whatever

Calling Clark stupid is a harsh statement. It seems like people are so worried that Chloe lost her memories of Clark's secret that they don't take into consideration of what Clark gave up to protect Chloe and give her life back to her. Chloe won't remember but Clark will remember and this will be the hardest on him by far. This scene was very emotional and brought tears to my eyes but not so much for Chloe but for Clark's loss and the lonliness of being a super hero.

I don't know their relationship just seems so fake to me know. How can it be a true friendship if he "stole" her memories and is going to lie to her just to save her. I see that he is doing it because he loves her as a friend, but ugh it is just so frustrating. I think he could have been smarter and lived with it and seperated on his own.

I agree that having Clark on is own now is good, and I do give TPTB credit for doing that. But I just don't understand why Clark thinks that Chloe is safe not knowing his secret. In that last scene, he tells Jor-El that she is safe and then a minute later, it's revealed that Doomsday will be going after Chloe. That's not exactly Chloe being safe now, is it?

Although I liked the fact of Chloe knowing Clark's secret, I do have to agree that Clark did the right thing. As others has said, people are clouded by their view on the whole "Chlark" ship, rather than realizing the BIG picture, which was Clark giving Chloe back a normal, and happy life.

With that being said, Clark basically has no one to confide to about his secret which is a good thing because it will only make him stronger, and push him to become more Superman like.

Lets face it, the Clark Kent that we all knew from season 1-7 has matured to the Clark Kent that we all come to know and love.

I feel exactly the same way. I had tears in my eyes during that scene - in spite of the fact that I knew it was going to happen.

i don't think he's stupid for erasing chloes memories of him but really i did hate to see it go chloe is clarks only friend he can talk to about it but.. if you look at it like that theres only two people left that know his secret lana and linda lake. and since linda lake is coming back soon im pretty sure they'll kill her off.. and lana well requiem is her last episode and if you don't know what requiem means look it up in a dictionary and im pretty sure you'll hae your answer of what will happen to lana in that episode.

I understand though, how the Chloe fans and Chlark fans are feeling. To think it, is completely different than to actually have it happen.
And i may not be a Chlarker myself, but i am a fan of Chloe as a whole. And i was pretty sad/annoyed that it has happened. Though at the same time, i understand WHY it has happened.
TWICE this season Clark has mentioned his fear of people knowing his secret (In Identity and now Abyss) - he feels like he's protecting her with her not knowing, and in a way he is.

While I believed once Lois came Chole was no longer needed in knowing his secret, I must confess, I did like this aspect to her story. It was a great way to keep her around and she was a great character interacting with the League and everyone else. I did understand Clarks reason for doing what he did, but the pathway to hell is lead with good intentions.

Im not saying our SUPERMAN is going to HELL or anything like that, but a decision made for someones good isnt always for their good.. I hate the decision, but Im gonna trust the writers this year. They have delievered so far this year and I will trust them in their decision..Something tells me that Clark didnt make the right choice anyway. Mark my words down the line its gonna come back and bite him..

Finally Clark's destiny isnt to be alone. In the comics half the JLA knows his secret, all of Batmans associates know who he is,Lois,Lana,Pete, Ma,PA, also know his secret. He isnt alone nor will he ever be alone so no I dont agree with his lonely destiny at all

Have you guys forgotten that Clark tried to warn Chloe and help her with the brainiac situation. And she told him to back off, and let her live her life. And what was the result? Clark tried to help her keep tried to warn her that this could happen did she listened. No. She got so used to being part of kryptonian issues that she thought she knew it all and new more than Clark. So in my opinion, she deserves what she got if she had listened to Clark she would have the privilege to still know his secret. That is what knowing his secret is, a privilege not a right. And Clark being hero did the right thing. Clean up cleanup, her mass for her. That is another thing here, or does that not only protect us but they also fix our mistakes. So it is Chloe's fault, not Clark's. He did not want to take away her memories. She put him in the situation, not the other way around and now their friendship is paying the ultimate price for her mistake. Also, by not knowing his secret. He is protecting Chloe, because like most good vs. evil stories, evil goes after the people that can hurt the hero, the most and Chloe is no longer useful to the majority of evil in the smallville universe. This is the same reason that he does not tell lois his secret so that she will not be used by evil against him. Remember, just my opinions.

The choice he has just made has to be one of the HARDEST choices for anyone to make.
Chloe was the one he could confide in. She was there for him. She protected his secret for a year before he realised she knew. Noone is saying that he didn't need her in that way. But this season, has shown Clark moving away from Chloe and vice versa, them both living their lives and looking out for THEMSELVES. Clark mainly solving things ALONE.

Alot of people actually don't seem to realise how hard the decision would have been for Clark to make, many people are quick to shout and moan about it simply because Chloes lost the knowledge. It doesn't mean shes lost it forever. Chloe was close to discovering Clarks secret when she didn't know, i doubt this time she won't dig deep and find out herself. After all Doomsday is coming, and he is connected to Clark, she'll put two and two together - not to mention the fact that shes still infected by Brainiac.

If i had a massive secret that my best friend knew, and she was in danger because of something ultimately relating to it, and i had the choice to make her forget, it would be SO HARD to make a decision. I'd loose the aspect of my best friend that made us closer.

And Clarks lost that. He was trying to keep her safe. He lost his dad and Lionel to his secret. I don't think he wanted to loose Chloe too. So seriously, just stop it. Its getting ridiculous bashing a character because they did what THEY THOUGHT was right.

I understand your frustration but this is not accurate. Clark knew how to get out the PZ because he had escaped that place once, when Raya told him how. Becuse the members of the House of El are the only ones that can open the portal. If anything, Chloe's haste to get him out almost killed Kara, who was imprisoned under that crystal. She grabbed Clark's just in time before he was sucked out of the Zone.

I agree! I understand his concernes and wish to protect his best friend, but this kind of mindrape he had no right to do, even if he did it out of good intentions! And I still hope she will regain her full memories by the end of season, get as mad as h... at him and slap him silly, cause he deserves it!
