So yes, Faora was in the comics. But in the comics she only worked with Zod, she was not actually Zod's wife. It also says Ursa (from Superman II) was based on Faora.

Yeah, she was in the comics. she was much better in the comics, then on Smallville (the comic book Faora, would have created a massacre and been extremely cold, nothing like Smallville's version).

No, was just a little disapointed of Faora's lack of violent behavior. In the comics, she hated men and murdered 300 men. The Phantom Zone has already been stated to be a prision for the worst criminals in the 28 known galaxies. The comic book Faora would fit into the type of criminal sent into the zone, but Smallville's Faora seems to rather have been sent into the zone as punishment for being Zod's wife, then being a murderer. The only person she killed was Davis, whom she knew would come back to life. She didn't harm Chloe or Tess or anyone else (unless I've missed something). Anyway, my point is; You wouldn't be sent to a place like the Phantom Zone, unless you're seen as being too dangerous to society, to be allowed to walk free or being kept in a regular prision.

I agree, the Faora of the comics was a lot more interesting than Smallville's version. Then again, a lot of the villain's from the PZ in the old days had much richer backstories. Dax-Ur for example accidently destroyed one of Krypton's moons killing an entire colony of people. It's times like these that I miss the old pre-crisis version of Supes. I never liked the "Crystal" angle that Richard Donner invented for the movies or his version of the Phantom Zone. I think the original version was a lot better and much more believeable "sci-fi".

Jax-ur not Dax-ur. this uses elements from different superman stories silver age, Post crisis, Donnerverse, etc

yea she was i think they have a lot of that stuff on wikipedia lol
I think that Faora's lack of violence is because she wanted to find her son first, and find out if he had fulfilled his destiny. I have no doubt in my mind that if she had killed Clark, she'd have went on a massacre along with Davis.

agree with you Joshua :)
Thanks. :)
I like that she wasn't just some generic Kryptonian bent on destroying the world and acted almost robotic...she showed compassion and love towards her son...however twisted their family may be...she still loves Davis.

Very good point. I think what we saw of Faora in Bloodline was far too brief to make any kind of judgement about her character/back story. What we did see suggested she could be very twisted indeed. Any mother who is prepared to "create" a son like Davis and still claim to love it has to be deranged to say the least. Now I don't know much about the Phantom Zone from a comics point of view, but the wife of a man who poses a severe threat to Kryptonian mankind and who herself has a very bad track record when it comes to human rights abuses? I can see why she might have been placed in the Kryptonian Broadmoor. :)
Dax-Ur for example accidently destroyed one of Krypton's moons killing an entire colony of people.Whoops!
