Will Davis/Doomsday kill Chloe ---the point where Clark becomes Superman?

We all know that Chloe will not be in the mythos of Superman. Clark is also not at the physical / mental point of being superman or being all he could be.

Could a possible catalyst be Doomsday killing her in his rage (or Davis' transformation into Doomsday one night and he kills her in rage), and when Clark finds out, motivated by anger, he realizes what he has to do to really protect the ones he loves....become this hero that everone so desperately needs?

That would be a huge move...not sure if fans will accept it. I think Clark and Chloe will just have to go their separate ways by the end of the season (or series). I do agree that Clark may need another tragedy to give him a push though.

I don't see how Chloe's death would make Clark become superman because he already is.He finally embraces his destiny right on the first episode.It's just he doesn't have the name yet and that's Lois's job.

They are definitely inching toward Doomsday fully manifesting and then kidnapping Chloe in "Bride" because humanoid Davis is smitten with her. I just finished writing interpretations of "Bride" and "Legion" that end with Chloe dead. It was a tough write for me and a hard read for others...
