Anyone else notice that Clark took a good look at the "S" bracelet when Kara tells him that he's always by her heart? Also, anyone else notice that the position of the "S" was placed on her chest? Could this be the reason why Superman has the "S" on his chest in the future? To remind him of Kara?

They would have to do something as the original S, originally stood for Superhero as him being the first. Seeing as he really isn't with the others having branched out before him they'll have to make it stand for something else.

The stylized "S" is his Kryptonian family symbol, regardless of the original intent in the original comics. It shouldnt be any problem for him to wear it. It is his family Icon.

Anyway, I definitely felt that the intent of that scene was to have him look at it and think "hey that looks interesting" so as to give him an idea for his future look. The fact that it will also be a reminder of Kara is a cool bonus.

Exactly my point Lewis, thanks haha for agreeing. Initially my thoughts were that this was a pretty emotional and intense scene, and given that Kara is leaving Smallville, in the future, this basically gave him the idea to put the "S" on his chest as a tribute to Kara.

If the writers intent was for that, that would be awesome.

though..I've just found a major flaw in this episode come to think of it. Lois saw that symbol clearly on the portal out of the PZ and if she ever sees it again in the future (on clark's chest) she will know its linked in with Kara and Clark, even if it was just a dream to her...

I also couldn't help but notice that when Kara touched the "S" to open the portal it turned Superman colors (well, blue and yellow, mixed with the red from blood). Very nice!

I'm sorry but, that is the stupidest thing I ever heard. If you JUST started watching Smallville from Season 8 or 7, I don't blame you but, if you a long time watcher than you should know thats the House of El Symbol. Is was there when Clark trapped Zod and the Zoners and it almost an exact replica of Clark's Kryptonian name, Kal-EL except that the kryptonian symbol for Kal-El looks like the number "8" not "S"

Thanks for your honest opinion, everyone has their own theory and speculations. But just for your info, I've watched Smallville ever since the beginning, and I know what the "S" and "8" symbols mean.

I guess you didn't understand my post: The fact that Kara put the "S" crest next to her chest, with Clark taking a good look at it at the end, might give him the idea of putting the "S" on his chest in the future to pay tribute to Kara. That is all I am saying;

So I can't make theories and speculation about a particular scene in the episode in the actual "episode" thread? Everyone does it, and it shouldn't even be a big deal in the first place. If its something completely off topic from the episode then yes, I would agree. But the fact that I am posting something from a particular scene,in the actual episode thread, shouldn't be a problem. Let me explain what I am talking about in Lamens term: If you re-watch that particular scene at the end between Clark and Kara, Kara shows the "S" symbol to Clark. After that, the camera zooms into the "S" crest where it is positioned on her chest; Clark stares at the crest for a couple of moments right after that.

All I am saying is that this scene might trigger or give Clark the idea of putting that "S" on chest in the future when he becomes Superman.
