View Full Version : Please explain this crystal to me

OK, in another thread I'm being told that Lex can't be in the crystal because it only contains data for reconstituting the FOS which will be made up of new arctic material (ice). Here's what I'm trying to understand; the FOS implodes on Lex and CK and this crystal was left lying on the ground? CK and Lex are buried in the ruins and all of the intelligence goes into the crystal and it's laying in the snow next to them? Then do we know who found the crystal and how it got to Tess? The crystal will reconstitute the FOS and the crystals that were in the FOS reappear but they're not the old ones, they are made of new material? I'm wavering here. Why couldn't the destruction of the fortress be only the destruction of the ice structure and everything else is in the crystal? I mean Clark and Lois are locked in a pane of glass on their way to the PZ. Why couldn't Jor El have imprisoned Lex in the crystal (FOS) to keep him from ever harming Kal El again?

Sounds as plausible as any storylines on Smallville.......I don't see why not, TPTB can always find a way out later....

Did the professor who did the test on the crystal (when it beamed up and attracted Maxima) find the crystal or what am I not remembering about how they got hold of the crystal in the first place? Did Tess' workers find it in the snow? I can't remember the sequence.

i am pretty sure nothing is written in stone and the writers can change it up.
I doubt they will fully explain how the fortress can be destroyed and created and where lex is.

It was found in the snow by some of Tess's workers and delivered to her in a briefcase. I dont think Lex is in the crystal as its made up of Kryptonian technology which may or may not turn out to be the Eradicator. I dont think we will ever find out what happened to Lex as its a plot hole that will remain open until the PTB realise finally that Michael isnt coming back and no amount of money will change his mind, he's moved on and so should we but that doesnt mean we can remember him with fond memories.

And yet, almost weekly Tess is threatening to fire someone if they don't find Lex. This week we get the boot print and Tess challenging Clark as the last one to see Lex. If he's gone for good then drop it for goodness sake. The season started with crews looking in the ice for him and then GA travelling the world to find him and constant references to his disappearance.

That’s what I meant though Galatians221, the PTB wont let it drop yet as there convinced that once they’ve built all this intrigue up over the season that Michael will agree to come back for one more episode even though the poor bloke has told countless reporters and tabloids etc that he has no intention of ever coming back to Smallville either as a one off or something more permanent. So I agree drop it and move on, they have someone who is even better now if they do it right and now that we’ve all learned he was made by Zod and his Wife ohhhhhhhh the mind boggles, I just hope they do it right and don’t let us all down like they have in the past with the battle sequences, I want something monumental and lasting longer than 2 mins please.

Crystal = Fortress of Solitude
The Fortress of Solitude has a teleporter.
It is possible for Lex to be stored in the data buffer. It worked for Scotty...

Wow that is an old TNG episode. But Relics was pretty cool.
Now back to our regularly scheduled program already in progress.

Who sent the crystal to Clark, was it this "X" guy?

Wow! So in essence Jor El caused the FOS to destruct in order to protect his son and also made arrangements for Lex to be out of the way also in order to protect his son. Where would he teleport to???? Jor El made the PZ but somehow Lex has to have his memory erased of CK's secret and if this is the case then Lex is not the "X" who sent the crystal.

Well, teleportation as seen in The Fly* or Star Trek works as follows.
- Scan the object, molecule by molecule, and generate a digital copy (within the computer's memory).
- Destroy the original.
- Create a copy in the new location.
Going by that scientific theory Lex could be stored in the crystal, which is a Kryptonian supercomputer.
*The oldest movie I know that has teleportation. It's a bit fuzzy about the scanning part, but AFAIR expensive computer equipment was mentioned.

I hope they remember to scan in color and not black and white.
